Banded yesterday, surgery was backed up had a little wait, actual banding start to finish 59 min. Had a little trouble coming out of it. refused to wake up, had to have oxygen, So I spend the night. But I am home now and feeling great. A little sore, but nothing that is extreme. I have the same between the shoulds ache, but I figured it was from lying in bed too long. I am walking well. My prayers are with everyone, excited to be band, ready to change my life.
  4. Linda I also have Aetna, It took me 6 months to get approved. I started in Jan with Dr. visit, then they psy and dietian, I had to have documated excerise program so I did curves for 3 months. I also trave for my work so this was all very hard to schedule and expensive. Plus I didn't want to tell my employer what I was doing. So, I can relate to what you have been going thru. My dr called Friday said Aetna had approved me 100%. I go to the caridlogist Monday if I check out ok, I go on Wednesday for my pre-op and banded on Friday the 6th. Hopefully it will work out like that for you too. Aetna, has a lot of pre-req but they cover good. I also got frustrated with my Dr. office they seemed disorganized. So on my next apportment I talked to the Dr. and told him how I felt. Of course 3 weeks later I got approved. I think part of the problem is so many people are in the same boat and looking for help. When we go to the Dr. office it is a big step for us and we are ready right then. Nearly all of us have already done our research, we have committed. But, like you said we have to jump thru the hoops. Good luck to you whichever path you take.

Hi guys, New to this thread, I have been lurking around trying to learn a few things... I just got my date, June 6th. Oh, so excited and scared at the same time. Been workig on this since Jan. when I went to Dr. office Friday I thought they would have another hoop I had to jump thru, but instead they told me my insurance had been approved. I am on a 1200 day diet. Have my pre-op on the 3rd and banded on the 6th.
  6. Hey Cindy, I am new to all this also. I hear the pain and fear in your words. Remember everyone is different, just because your husband's cousin's wife reacts a certain way doesn't mean you will. I think we all have choices in our lives, and if you choose for this to be positive and work with the progam it can be. I have been reading the posting here for couple of weeks, these folks are a fountain of knowledge. So contine your research, do whatever is best for you. I wish you the best luck.
  7. Hi, new to this, thinking about having lapband, wondering if anyone out there from Charleston, WV? Dr. Bali. I have had one meeting with the surgeon, I meet all the requirements. I have appt scheduled next week for my psych elevation. Kinda worried about several things, such as how much the insurnce will actually cover. (Aetna)the true recovery time. And I really, really don't want another "failure". Considering not telling anyone outside immediate family until after its done. The few people I have told have been very negative about it.
