    Full VS. Stuck

same thing happened to me three weeks post op,,I had a bite of chicken that was too big and did not chew it enough ,as soon as it got to the band i felt the worst stuck feeling and my mouth started to water like i was about to puke it up . after some walking around the house breathing and calming my self down it passed . That feeling is not what i get when i am satisfied from a meal,,,and two month post op i do feel stuffed after a very small meal,,,the full feeling for me is just like it used to be after 5 plates at the buffet ,,,the only difference is it comes allot faster ,with a lot less food. i do not eat much for breakfast because nothing seems to go down in the morning unless it is liquid or close to it but for lunch or dinner i eat my food on a tea cup saucer or similar size plate and after about 15 min of chewing and swallowing i am stuffed and usually satisfied for 4 hours with no need for a snack. so stuck is exactly that and full is what i always felt as full and hunger is still the same as it use to be but i do not feel hunger as often as before, and the weight comes off a pound at a time,,,just went from a 5XL shirt to a 3XL and it feels great also am on the tightest hole on my belt this week which is a great feeling also keep with the small portions and only one thing can happen.

So... what do you fellas do?

For the last 5 years I have owned a performance automotive shop that specialized in custom exhaust and aftermarket accessories, rims and tires that type of stuff. Nothing to huge , 4500 sq ft shop with 5 employees Definatly the best job I have had so far.But i sold it Jan 1st and took three month of . Now I am getting into dump truck's and excavating.I just picked up my first truck,2008 Freightliner FLD SD tri-axel.I always had fun playing with my Tonka toys in the sand box, so why not try the real thing in a bigger sand box lol.

Something reassuring happened to me today'''My lapband surgeon Dr.Mumford called me today,I had a second pre-op appointment scheduled with him last week but could not make it due to work,,So I thought I would not hear from him until the day of surgey,But he called ,from somewhere in the Caribbean where he is on vacation with his family.I thought that was a cool thing to do,takeing the time for me. It's very reassuring to know that he obviously cares about his patients well being. And will make time to have a chat ,no matter where he may be.So i got the rest of my Questions answered and the count down begins 6D-11HR'S-9MIN and counting Is anyone here being banned at the SWLC in Mississauga, Ontario. Canada

SCRAPPY FRIEND I hear what you are saying,,,I was thinking about cancelling my operation last week and asking for a refund,, The turning point for me was reading the post op from Fenton and other's.I needed another person other than my doc telling me that everything will be fine,Who better to tell you this than another shrinking shamrock.Iam still abit nervous but now i think it's more of a anxouis nervous then scared nervous. So try and relax and take your mind of it , I have decided to start a remodel of the laundry room tommorrow , so i don't think about the operation so much, and before you no it we, will be sitting at home with our bands in place enjoing a warm cup of broth and saying that wasn't so bad after all.

nothing better than loging on to your favorite thread and finding 4 pages of posts to read,,,Amanda , that recovery room story was hilarious , i laughed untill it hurt , that could be a stand up comedy bit LOL. I feel much better about the surgery today, I have 7 more day's to go and am looking forward to getting past this. So thanks to everyone for posting the supportive notes and helping get all of us through this together,,,also i am using a weider protein powder fruit splash mango flavour , and it tastes ok, with 1 gram of carbs and 20 grams of protien per serving,,,,,,I am trying to have 2 protien drinks and one low carb high protien dinner per day for my post op diet , the optifast will not stay down.
  14. The pre op diet is very difficult for me as well,,,I am doing 5 weeks of Optifast and i think i have gone 4 days without blowing it , so i have decided for the last ten day's before surgery i will do a low carb high protein diet and try to stay with low cal options like lean grilled chicken and beef and lots of dark green leafy vegetables ,,,the most important part of a pre op diet is to reduce the size of the liver by reducing it's fat content, I am sure when you go on a low carb diet your liver is the first place to lose fat, but we should always ask a doctor , just to make sure,,,I am waiting for mine to call me back just to make sure,,,I hope my date does not get cancelled due to my pre-op diet.

Fenton, It's great to hear that everything went as well as it did. I have been looking forward to reading your post-op posts. Being a big guy myself I am worried about complications with any surgery,I actualy said to my wife that if Fenton has a hard time with this surgery i am cancelling my date ASAP.So we are very happy to hear that everything went OK LOL. How did you feel when you first woke up, and did they remove the tube from your throat before you awoke or did they wait until the recovery room and remove it while you where awake, also did you feel like you were choking or have any trouble breathing when you awoke. I have all kinds of strange concerns like. is the operating table big enough for me , do they have 5XL gowns , is the place big guy friendly,ya know. sorry about all the questions, but your posts are always so informative and I can always relate. Thanks
