How did you handle changing clothing size ?
liljilo replied to Elizabethtash's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Clothes have been a frustrating part of this process for me. Even though it should be exciting to put on pants that feel too big, it is also hard to know that you're basically throwing away money on clothes that will only last a month or even less! I got away with leggings and longer shirts for awhile. Old Navy has been my go to place. They have deals online all the time and then you earn bonus dollar that you can use later. -

@@Meg53 it has been up and down and definitely filled with some stalls. Water and exercise are key!! I also got a Fitbit at the very start of my journey when I first met with the nutritionist and it has really helped me stay active everyday. Hi all, I am just over 3 months out and doing really well with everything. I'm down over 40 pounds and really proud of my progress. I decided when I started this process that I was going to work on my mind AND body and start seeing a therapist. I'm finding that I am especially anxious when I gain because I have the pre-surgery version of myself in my mind and it makes me so nervous that I'll become her again. Or that if I eat one wrong thing that I will gain it all back. Is anyone else feeling like this? I try not to weigh myself too much, but I admit that not weighing myself makes me more anxious because I worry that the weight isn't coming off. And yes, I can obviously see the changes without looking at the number, but at some point the number matters. After all, all of these surgeries are based heavily on BMI. Just wondering if anyone else out there is experiencing this and if you have any suggestions on how to get through it. Thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hi everyone, I am 3 weeks out from my surgery (it was on 9/6). I'm down a little over 20 pounds which is great, but I've definitely noticed a stall in my weight loss the past several days. I've read other posts about a "3 week plateau." Anyone else with this experience? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using the BariatricPal App

Not meeting my calorie goals
liljilo replied to liljilo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks so much, everyone! I am definitely meeting my fluid/protein goals. -
I'm having trouble getting in enough calories right now. I am a few days away from moving to soft foods and finding that I'm only getting 600-700 calories a day. How are people getting all of their calories in each day?

Not meeting my calorie goals

Not worried about anything, but I am in a stall so I was thinking that maybe my low caloric intake could be contributing. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using the BariatricPal App -

Ladies : Did any of had your period during surgery?
liljilo replied to gabysmum's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had some breakthrough bleeding during the preop diet and it lasted throughout the surgery and recovery. Even almost a month out and my period is still a little messed up! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using the BariatricPal App -
The preop diet was hard for me, too! You will get through it. Part of what helped me mentally was just wanting to prove to myself that I could do it and not cheat. I also was terrified that they wouldn't do the surgery if I didn't follow the protocols! Keep going - it's worth it! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using the BariatricPal App

I had an eating disorder when I was a teen and am currently on anti-depressants. They didn't take me off my meds and I made the decision (months pre-surgery) to start seeing a therapist so that I'm fixing my mind AND body. I'd recommend seeing someone - it will help! Preparing to be Sleeved on 10-10-16
liljilo replied to gknupe5's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found these great 4 oz. tupper ware. I'm almost a month out and still finding them to be super helpful. If you don't have a measuring cup, get one of those, too. In the hospital, they had some 1 oz and 4 oz plastic cups that I snagged too! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using the BariatricPal App -

The beginning is tough with appetite. I'm just over 3 weeks out and still don't really have an appetite. Do the best you can, especially in the first few weeks, but make sure you drink your fluids. Jello was a good snack for me that counts as a Fluid. I've also been drinking Water with lemon or other sugar free flavors. Keep trying - it will get a little easier! I honestly don't love My Fitness Pal. I created a Google Doc on my phone where I list each food I ate and how much Protein and calories it had in it. I also found a Water bottle that holds 24 oz and just make it a goal to drink 3 of those a day. My Fitness Pal feels too complicated for me right now when I'm just focused on calories and protein.
