Misty you are doing amazing!!! You were JUST banded in August...notice I was banded in January of this year so you are doing a great job. Believe me I don't do everything correct and I have good and bad days but the good are sure out numbering the bad. Count me in when we meet again! PLEASE know that you are doing GREAT!

Hi Misty, Are ya'll still meeting? I never had a chance to meet with everyone but I would still like to join ya'll when your next meeting comes around! Hope you are doing well.

Ok let me give everyone a laugh for today...the "pain" I was having and freaking out about yesterday is basically the result of me moving my office around last week. I put my computer in a location that causes me to stretch a million yards to reach the mouse. Switched everything over yesterday before I left, took some liquid Motrin last night and I feel great! Why is every little thing I feel now, I attribute to my band? I'm always thinking it's falling out of my body!! LOL

I have the same "pain" off and on since having surgery. There are times when it is more frequent than others and most of the time it does not appear during or after eating. At first I thought it felt like someone kicked me in my lower side or a muscle pull. I've had about 6 fills and this time the pain is much more evident. I don't throw up or have any issues like that and never have but I agree with everyone, I think it's just part of having the band. I can usually lay on the same side where the pain is and it actually helps it but this time it is staying around much longer. I am glad to hear that others are having the same. Good Luck!!

I would love to meet up, I'm in the Memorial/Dairy Ashford area so this would not be far for me.

Knockouts - Six Month Progress Status
mashelltx replied to HeatherO's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Everyone...it has been a long time since I have visited. I went in for my monthly fill yesterday and I have a 10 cc band so I'm at 8 cc now and I'm in a panic because my doctor has told me I only have a couple of fills left. What happens when you reach a full band, has anyone reached that point in such a short time? Maybe I should not have gone in for monthly fills? I guess once I reach 10 ccs I am on my own but I'm terrified now. By the way I'm not good at updating my weight loss in the ticker below so my weight loss is right at 69 lbs as of 8/29/08. -
I used Dr. Spiegel and he is awesome! He has amazing experience in what he does and I attend his support groups which are helpful. Good Luck!

I was terrified this would happen to me so I've been so careful. A couple of weeks ago I was starving so I rolled up a thin piece of turkey and cheese and took two bites and was like OMG this is what people are talking about. Needless to say...I won't be doing this again. I go for my second fill tomorrow and I'm scared to death again, I don't know why this freaks me out so bad!
-
Texgirl I'm chuckling to myself because I'm short, wear glasses and have brown highlighted hair! I've attended his seminars so we will probably see each other at some point. Hope you are doing good after surgery.
-
Hi can you please add me. January 30, 2008! Woo Hoo!
-
Texgirl and camrynsmommy that is awesome!! I wish both of ya'll lots of luck. Please keep in touch and we might all run into each other at office visits.

Hi, he banded me on January 30, 2008. I think he is probably the best and he has the experience behind him. Don't expect him to spend lots of time with you discussing everything...he has a great staff to handle that. I also attend his support groups in his Galleria area office and he actually does most of the talking and I have found it to be very very informative. Good Luck!

Anyone else in WEEK 4 Post-op??
mashelltx replied to SeattleGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey everyone...I was banded 1/30/08 and feeling pretty good. I'm at the point where I should be able to eat solid foods, just scared out of my mind to venture beyond fish, cottage cheese, and humus. I am terrified I will throw up and that is something I don't want to do! I'm down 27 lbs since surgery and my first fill will be next week. I'm nervous about the fill also. Good Luck to everyone! -
Thank you so much for that message! I have had this crazy burning since day 1 and some days are really good and then last night I decided to wash clothes and pick them up off of the floor and of course I had that horrible burning until I layed in bed. I guess this is all part of healing and atleast I know others are having the same thing. Good luck and we are all on a great path in our lives now!!

I was banded on 1/30/08 and spent the night in the hospital. I'm home and I had a really great day and now today I feel horrible. I have major burning around my main incision in the middle. It goes away if I sit and lay back a little. Has anyone had the burning?
-
I have had the same "feelings" and I really think it is gas. If I get up and walk around it seems to make things better. I'm 44 and I thought the SAME thing!
-
I'm in Houston and I used Dr. Spiegel. My nurse at the hospital was also banded by Spiegel. He does not have much of a bed side manner but he is a great surgeon! Good Luck! Will you be attending the support groups?

Hi I was banded the same day you were! Are you still having much pain? It is amazing how loud my stomach growls when it is hungry! Good Luck! -
Hi Sunshine...I'm new to this site. I had surgery on 1/30 and I keep thinking I must be a big baby because I'm still in pain! Everyone I talked to before surgery told me how they barely had pain. I have major burning around my main incision in the middle, did you have that?
