  3. Hi! I had my op on 19th January 2008! I've lost 58lbs  mostly through dieting as I didn't have much restriction at all. I eventually got restriction on my 3rd fill (now at 6 1/2 cc's in a 10 cc band), but I had to go back and take out 1/2 cc as it was completely too tight. I'm not sure about food now as I'm finding it very difficult to get most foods down. Is this normal? I'm okay with rice cakes, l/f crackers and soup but cannot tolerate rice or bread. I suppose this is a good thing cos of carbs. But I want to eat solid foods like meat, vegetables. fruit and fish. I was told that once you get to your restriction it's like starting over again. Is this correct? Help anyone...

Hi Christine8. Well that's weird. My GP said that there wasn't funding for this type of surgery. So I'm not sure whether he was telling me porkies now! But anyway, I've had it done and I'm really happy. But thanks for letting me know. Cheers J9:rolleyes2:

    Banded 1/30/08

Hi Yikes I too was worried that I would wake up hungry and luckily I didn't. I am hungry now all the time. Perhaps its a psych thing, however I'm trying to drink lots of Water to fill me up. Just started the mushy food period. So glad to eat proper food instead of Soup and thin yoghurts. Still a little sore but I think of the pain as a reminder of why I had the surgery in the first place. Good luck with the weight loss! J9:rolleyes2:

    Banded 19th January 2008

Hi Everyone At last I'm on the road to being skinny! Got banded on 19th January 2008 in Birmingham, UK. Lost 10lbs on the pre op diet and then another 6lbs in my first week after op. Nothing in my 2nd. Not disheartened as I know I'm going to lose the weight and keep it off forever! Would love to hear from you. Good luck to all! J9

    How is everyone doing?

Hi everyone! I got banded on th 19th in Birmingham, UK. Still feeling quite sore where the port is. Lost 10lbs on the pre-op diet and then in my first week I lost 6lbs. Nothing in my 2nd week but I'm not too upset at least I lost some weight. Just started on the mushy food today. Felt great to eat something at last. However felt sick about 30mins after. Luckily it subsided. Would love to hear from others. J9

Hi everyone! I'm from Blackpool! And I'm a newbie to this site so, please bear with me. I got banded on 19th January 2008 in Birmingham. Had to go private as our health trust doesn't do banding on NHS up here. That really sucks. I lost 10lbs on the preop diet (Milk and yoghurt) then I lost another 6lbs in the 1st week after being banded. Not lost anything in my 2nd week but 'm not giving up that easily! Glad to hear from all of you. J9:rolleyes2:
  9. I am so glad I'm not the only one. I was banded 2 weeks ago and I too don't have much restriction. I am hungry nearly all the time, but I'm trying to use my willpower and not give in! Drinking lots of water. I lost 10lbs on the pre-op diet but since being banded I lost 6lbs in the first week and nothing in my 2nd! (Trying to stay focused). Just starting with the mushy food period, hoping that the weight will again start to come off. Please keep me posted. Good luck!
