I called my insc.co. they said I have no max. on out-of-pocket expenses. Also the 75% only applies to bariatric surgery only. I'm no longer actively working & I'm not 59 1/2 years old so I can't withdraw from my 401k without a large penalty nor can I take out a loan from them. Thank you all for your replies.

HOLLYGURL= I've just been approved by my insc. They're paying 75% & my co-pay is 25% for surgery and all related cost. But I understand this is not the norm. JohnC

Macmadam, That's a good thought, I'll check that out. jtorie, I understand I can protest it after the surgery. Thanks for your suggestions guys.

Timing - Should I Do It Now Or Hold Off?
JohnC replied to bwohlgemuth's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with kossde. All cruises I've been on there's been food everywhere you turn, and I never had the willpower to walk away from it, after all it's vacation. But if you have the surgery first then the band will probably put the brakes on for you. Plus there's the chance you could gain back the 17 Lbs. you've lost plus some extra. Good luck. -
Lap Band Surgery & Divorce or Happily Married Ever More?
JohnC replied to Sooner's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My wife was dead set against the lapband when I first brought it up to her,( by the way her BMI is probably as high as mine with as many co-morbidities) but after her doing a lot of research on the web, she's done a 180. She surprised me the other day when she told me that if everything goes well with my surgery & weight loss that she might consider having it done herself. There's a chance your DH may look at it differently after getting used to the idea. JohnC -
Angyl, Congrades on your success. Your picture looks great but small, is there a way I can enlarge it? JohnC

The incredible bouncing BMI!
JohnC replied to smylie1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Bmi Has Been Bouncing The Last 5yrs. As Well. My Insc. Co. Requires My Bmi. To Be At Least 40 At The Time Of Application, But My Dr. Requires Me To Have Been Obese The Last 5 Years. Good Luck -
Little Debbie, You have just told me my life story in your thread. I would send your insurance co. an exact copy of your thread as your letter. I wish you all the luck in your insc. approval, & hopfully your surgery. JohnC

JohnC replied to Mithotyn's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome Mithotyn, Don't have answers to any other QUESTIONS BUT THE AVERAGE SURGERY TIME FOR THE LAPBAND AT THE HOSPITAL I'm GOING TO IS 37 MIN. Everyone I've talked to that's had surgery there have said everything went well. Good luck in your journey. -

Hi Dori Can I ask you how much your Dr. is charging for each of those fills? Kind of feels like he could be milking your insurance co.

Hi gang, I'm new to the forum & glad I found it.I'm happy there's a thread for 50's crowd. It seems I"ve been dieting all my life, mostly unsuccessful, but the times I was successful I gained it all back plus. I'm currently seeking a lapband surgery in hopes it will be the tool I need to lose the weight & keep it off. I'll be in touch. JohnC -
