    Weight Watchers

I've heard that some band patients will join weight watchers for accountability each week. If you're one of those patients, do you stick to the number of points weight watchers allows you to have or do you give yourself a lesser amount? :confused2:

    Is This Slow?

I was banded on 08/21/07 and have lost 30 pounds. I get very discouraged as well when I see that people have lost 100 pounds in a few months. I know I'm working out 4 - 5 times a week and I'm watching what I eat. I have to keep reminding myself that I've lost 30 pounds. The rest will come in time. I'm right with you on being a slow loser but we are both 30 pounds lighter! I'm going for my fourth fill today so hopefully I'll be in a size 18 comfortably by the end of February!!

    United Health Care Predetermination?

My doctor submitted my BMI of 43 to the insurance company and within 10 days I was approved. I didn't have to do any psych evals or nutritionist visits. I don't have any health issues (diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.). I wanted surgery to get health to prevent future health issues. I was approved right away. I never consulted my PCP. She didn't know I had done it until 6 months later when I went in for strep throat. I have had a very good experience with UHC.

    Adjusting to changing shape

When I started really losing, my mind couldn't grasp it. I actually thought my legs were shrinking and I was getting shorter because my pants were longer and I would trip over them. I actually fell at work on day because I tripped over my pants. It took another bandster that I work with to tell me that I've lost so many inches in my hips that my pants were longer. I was glad to know that I wasn't losing my mind and I wasn't shrinking in height!!
