Smartiegirl you are right - she does look preg and that should not court as weight for her to lose now - I did not know she was getting a divorce - hope they do not use her weight as a divorce issue -- she is a very pretty lady and never dresses tacky before now--- Kristie Allen was not a happy Craig girl --- please do not try and trick us by wearing too big for you outfits ---- we may need to lose weight in our bodies but are brains are just fine---

I have never seen that actress dressed in baggy, older looking women's clothes before this ad for Jenny- isn't she married to some hot sport's man - you can tell her clothes are too big

twirl replied to hopeful41411's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
does DH mean dear husband -
I wish I could help--- I have had two fills and am still hungry - am waiting for the sweet spot--- you have lost weight and I think you will continue --- you'll see

No liquids while eatting, then what about soup?
twirl replied to WorkingMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked the same question and I was told not to eat soups - but I do anyways - especially on liquid and mushy days - sometimes I strain out the solids in soups and throw away the broth--- with won ton soup I strain the solids out and freeze the broth for liquid days -
Dr. pushing for bariatric surgery

this band is not easy -- do not let a doc push you into this- it is not a simple cure -- I was banded in dec and have lost almost nothing and am still hungry with 2 fills- I do eat a lot less food and that part is rewarding - I think I could have lost this much on my own - but I think the band will stop me from regaining any lost weight- give it a long, hard think before you decide on surgery -
You found your sweet spot?!! How much can you eat??
twirl replied to MeganMatters's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded in dec and have had two fills- I am always hungry what is going on is a sweet spot where you are never hungry on very little food -
I have never tasted anything - please tell me what did it taste like
-
I get won ton soup and blend it just enough to make everything small a place I get it does not include the roast pork meat that is sliced so I get it there during any of my soft food times - I like the campbell's soups in boxes - mashed potatoes are good with a tbs of gravy - bean chalupas are good - so is chili conqueso there are lots of good things

I have had two fills and fill no restriction at all - I have only lost about 10 lbs - this is slow
-
I am losing even slower - banded on 12/7 and filled on 12/9 and still hardly any weight loss but I can not drink the fluids - I am on dialysis so you sound like you are doing great - I would hate the three times with the needle you are brave I do not fill much restriction and will go back tomorrow for my second fill
-
WHy didn't anyone tell me....????
twirl replied to NoPBJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was baned on 12/7 and do not think I have lost but maybe 10 lbs - my doc is happy but I am not -- I can not drink all the fluids due to dialysis --- this is slow--- and I do feel hungry -
I think you should really consider the lap band - the main reason is the yo-yo dieting - I am losing slowly due to other health reasons - I am on dialysis and I can not have the required fluids -- wish I could -- but the greatest thing is I do not feel like I will lose and regain -- I think I can trust this --- at first, I wanted to pull this band out of my throat but then I got used to it and I love you - I hate the days of fills b/c I have to stay on liquids for two days -- I have only had one fill and will get another one next week ---

I live in Texas and Sonic has a new dollar menu hamburger that is so good and it is not made like a kid's meal burger -- it is made like the adult burgers - sometimes I do not eat the bun -- and their dollar menu fries are just the right size I usually order a kid's meal or like two chicken legs you can still eat fast foods but the amount you eat will be so much less
-
the doc who died is a doctor where I live - I almost did not get banded - she died a few weeks before I was banded - she was on a trip to Colorado and her husband said she self diagnosed herself - she was three weeks post lap band surgery - she has twins who had a birthday right around the time she passed - her husband is a lawyer or attorney -- they are both educated - we heard ( here in her hometown) that it started as strep throat - she was only 38 - after my surgery I was thinking maybe she thought she ate the wrong foods or ate too much --- I can not understand why she did not take it more seriously --- surely she had a fever---- it is so upsetting

Does anyone have regrets?
twirl replied to Kelliegurl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I regretted it the first couple of weeks but now, I love it it took some getting used too -
Think I have stuffed up!
twirl replied to thefitmother's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wanted to add that after you are banded you will not mindlessly drink a full glass of anything so things will get better -
Think I have stuffed up!
twirl replied to thefitmother's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
deal with it and learn from it you will not do that again it is easy to forget and drink quickly or eat too quickly hope you will be okay -

Solid food after only one week
twirl replied to playhead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on the 12/9 and could eat reg foods on 12/24 but every doc is different my first fill was 1/7 I am losing but it is slow but it is losing and I am eating so much less - it is amazing -
I wanted my band out the first week or so and I no longer feel that way I am not losing b/c I can not drink all the fluids due to kidney problems but I eat tons less food and my doc said the weight will come off I mean tons less foods it is not an easy road but one I am glad I am on
-
I think this is right for you I was banded on 12/9 and had a first fill on 1/7 I have not lost weight but I am eating so much less food I am on dialysis so I can not drink the required amounts of fluids so my loss may be slower but be warned -- with a lap band you can graze all day and not eat much at a time I find this a little difficult but still I eat so much less - it is amazing - the first week with this band I wanted to tear it out - when you get a fill you go back on liquids for a couple of days and that is not fun but you get used to it twirl

I was banded 12/9 and got a fill on 1/7 and have lost nothing but am eating way less my doc does fills under fluoroscopy each time but it still is not a pleasurable experience good luck

Is there any more pain if you have hiatal hernia repair with Lap Band placement?
twirl replied to Hackettsue's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the hernia repair and lap band at the same time and had no pain at all or very little not much medication used for pain
