I was banded on Dec 9,2008 I have lost 20 lbs and I am on dialysis and I can not have all the fluids -- I have fluid restrictions - so my loss will take longer -- I have had 2 fills - I can have fills every two weeks, but do not --- the days of liquids are very difficult because of dialysis --- I was not happy with the band at first but now I am getting used to it
-
B-- cheese stick and saltines ( no salt ones) at dialysis 6am L -- Chinese food --- some spicy pineapples, a little cabbage, chicken with black bean sauce -- one crab puff --- actually very little of this -- a buffet and I wasted money --- 1/4 c soft ice cream -- tea D-- will eat nothing--- too guilty about lunch
-
I know --- I looked at 2003 and thought -- no way we do not have a choice my doc does fills on Mon and W afternoons -- what is hard for me is the days of clear liquids

Did you cheat on pre-op liquid diet
twirl replied to crystalcml's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
wow you have will power -
you will do fine ---- you are in the right frame of mind -- it is not easy and it can be slow -- I think men lose faster-- I was banded 12/8 and have lost 20 lbs which is better than gaining anything --- also I save about 400.00 a month on not buying foods I do not need- you can do it

you are so pretty - I would not judge you for selling out - times are hard - sometimes you have to do things you are not proud of - I hope you find someone to use your photos that helped you lose weight ----you look beautiful and I am proud to know you

I am in the Woodlands also and have posted about the doctor --- she got very sick and had warning signals but she did not go to another doctor or to the emergency room---- she should have paid more attention to her body
-
I would not do it someone may think it is true and be fooled and cheated out of money and cheated by thinking it would work and it does not I do not care about the money--- it is wrong and I do not have much money --- but still it is wrong

I only felt this way once when I was on chat and I asked what slimming was and a member said he or she wished there was a chat for new people so they would not have to bother explaining things this only happened once - everything else has been fine -

twirl replied to Linda Hawkins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt the same way and it did get better as time went on- I am not losing weight quickly but I am eating so much less and I feel good about that hang in there you will get used to it and you will get better -
I just had my third child and I got very sick --renal problems and I gained tons of weight --we were at a park and a little boy said," look at the big, fat lady" his mom hurried him past me and I could tell she was horrified at her son's remark -- he was only about 3 or so - I felt bad but what the boy said was right -- I think he was too young to know what he said--- at least, I could tell his mom was upset after that I was in Randall's and a man made fun of me in front of me--- his wife stated "maybe she is pregnant" I found my husband and pointed the man out to him -- my husband is 6ft 4 inches and a coach --- you should have seen that man get out of the store as quickly as his short little legs would go------- jackass

Family doing it together.
twirl replied to Gerry and family's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
wow how great is that to have your whole family involved - when you eat out - you can share a meal - you can go thru the liquid days together and not have to cook for someone ---- this is great--- good luck -
Today is the beginning to the rest of my life!
twirl replied to SweetIrishBebe's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
hello and you are too young to live your life hiding in your house --- this lap band is not easy but it is easier- I do not eat near the amount of foods that I used to - I have been banded since 12/08 and have not lost a lot of weight but I am not overeating or gaining -- I have lost about 15-20 lbs but mine will be slower b/c I am on dialysis ---- I am saving money by not taking everyone out to eat and by not going to fast food places---- it does feel good not to eat so much --- or drink too much-- I do not mean booze -- I mean fluids-- I am on restricted fluids but would love to be able to drink all the fluids ---that does help in weight loss -- please get a grip on your weight while you are still so young - I am hoping for the best for you --- when do you think you will be able to do this surgery? at first I wanted to rip this band out of me--- it is not easy but it gets easier and you will adjust--- I no longer want to drink when I eat----- things become normal that you once thought never would be ---- good luck to you -
I have had two fills and everything was fine -- do not be afraid- the worst thing to me about fills are the days I have to stay on liquids
-
3 things you're going to do when you've lost enough wgt (discretion advised)
twirl replied to Albacheeser's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
1. get on a kidney transplant list 2. twirl my batons again in the front yard 3. swim in my pool without wearing oversized clothes -
share with your husband --- I bring things home in to go boxes and have it another time or give it to my family-- just eat slowly -- sometimes you can eat more than other times --- we just stopped going to buffets and I have a card asking to eat from the children's menu- you can still eat out -- I still have problems with odering too much but I am getting better ---
-
I cheated on my pre-op diet and called and told on myself and was told to make sure I drink the protein shakes that was important--- surgery was fine -- I just cheated a little b/c I was straving
-
this is strange to me, if you could lose weight without the band then you would not need the band - it is a caught 22- damn if you do and damn if you don't -- to me if you try and can not lose weight then you need a band---- I know a girl who was turned down because she could not lose weight on the diet that she was trying to complete to be approved---- to me, that just means you really need a band --- call your insurance and level with them and ask
