Exercise after surgery - when?, what?

How soon did you start exercising after surgery? My surgen had me start 1 week after surgery. I am walking 2 miles a day at 3 mph. This week I notice that I need to kick it up and either walk further or longer. My surgen is very cautious about exersice, he told me all I could do for 6 weeks post-op (Or until my first fill) is to walk on a tredmill or ride a stationary bike. And not to lift anything over 5 lbs. (Which is hard to follow) I did start this week working my arms with 5 lbs dumb bells. I can't wait to start going back to water aerobics and cardio kick boxing. Good Luck!!
  4. I totally feel your pain on this. I was banned on Jan. 29th. I lost 11 lbs. Pre-op on opit-fast and another 12 lbs. post-op. This past Saturday went to a concert and had 3 glasses of wine. (I know you all are thinking that I shouldn't have had any and I know that but I did.) Low and behold on Sunday morning I gained 6 lbs. I am totally freaking out because it is now Wednesday and I have gained another half of lbs and can't loss anything. I did just move into the pureed diet this week but have really only added 1/2-1 cup of pureed protein to my diet. I am stiring protein powder into just about everything I eat and am walking 2 miles a day. Also this week I started doing light weight lifting to work my arms. Only 5 lbs dumb bells. (Can't lift anything more then that!!) If anyone has advice I could sure use some right now. Thanks and keep going strong!!!
