    Need low carb food advice

    I know you posted this awile ago but here are my thoughts: I dont think it matters what you eat if you burn more cal than you eat you will loose weight. I like low carb because I dont have room for the carbs so If I stick to protein and veggies for the most I will loose weight. Also carbs (except bread) go down so easy for me. Ice cream, chips, rice ex are sliders for me so I always eat to much! I don't avoid fruit carbs just cant eat much of raw fruit. My doctor told me to eat every 3 hours while awake. I can never eat to much at one time and I feel like if I did not eat every 3 hours or so I would starve. I only eat 50-100 cal. at a time except for dinner because I have more time to sit and focus on eating. Hope this helps and hope you are doing good!

    "Pumpkin Pie"

    This turned out so good. Follow the dirrections for the pumpkin pie recepie on the back of Libby's 100% pumpkin making the following substatutions. Omit the crust! use splenda not sugar use 1 and 1/2 cups redused fat cottege cheese in leu of the canned milk. Add 2TBS milk I used egg substatute not whole eggs Blend all ingredience in a blender and poor in a shallow baking dish or pie plate, I sprayed mine with a little olive oil so it would not stick. Bake as directed. Fridge over night. This was so good and the cottege cheese ups the protein! I am eating this for Breakfast all week.

    2nd fill w/Realize band 6cc total no restriction

    I was banded with the realize band on 5/14/08. It has taken months to acheive restriction. I think I have had 5 fills and currently have 8.25cc in a 9cc band. The restriction is there. However if I eat chips, or sweets there is not much restriction so I did not loose much through the holiday's because there was so much of this type of food everywhere. But I have been back on track since the beginging of this week and can not eat much during my meals. I feel like this tool is finaly working. Good luck to everyone. Hang in there it takes a wile!

  5. My insurance required a BMI of 35 or greater and at least 1 of the following, Sleep Apnea, Diabeties, Heart Disease, or high blood pressure. Or a BMI of 40 or higher (if you were 40 or higher you did not need to have one of the above conditons) My MD office quoted a price of "about 25,000 if you were private pay but I know that varies. I am not sure about the financing question. Hope this helps good luck.

    What about sweet tea???

    I use splenda in my tea. It measres cup for cup just like sugar, I use about 1/2-3/4 cup of splenda depending on the size of the picture I am making. I use decaf tea bags because my doctor does not like for us to have alot of caffeine, it is a diuretic and can cause you to become dehydrated if you have to much of it. I still have my one cup of coffie every AM. And when I am out I drink tea with caffeine, I like to go to McDonalds and get a Unsweet tea and add splenda.

    It is kind of like a pumpkin fluf, or pudding. I tried it with the protein powder but If you add that you have to eat it right away it does not taste good the next day. So next time I am going to add the protein to each serving before I eat it.
  8. OK, here is the deal. I have done great with weight training since March of this year. I work out 3 times per week for about 1 hour with a friend who is a personal trainer. But we just lift weights. I do cardio on and off but not religiously. So I am setting a goal of working out (cardio) every day this month. I have alot of Walk away the pound videos by Leslie Sansone. So on the days I work I am going to wake up early and do at least the 1 mile walk, and on my days off I am going to walk out side or ride my bike, something more creative. So if any one wants to join me to try and work out at least once a day evey day this month let me know!

    Yesterday walked for about 20 min outside. Would have gone longer but it was getting dark. Today i downloaded some new music for my walk later today!

    This is one of my fav weight watcers recipes 1 can pumpkin (NOT pumpkin pie filling just regular pumpkin) 1 package vanilla sugar free pudding (the powder do not add milk) 1 container sugar free cool whip pumpkin pie spice to taste Mix all ingredience together and put in the fridge until cold and eat, I am going to try and make this and add a scoop of vanilla Protein powder but i have not done this yet. I will try and let you know how it turns out.

    My report for yesterday is as follows: Weights for one hour and then walked outside for about 20min. I am going to be sad when day light savings time ends!

    Great! I did the one mile walk yesterday AM and then lifted weights yesterday evening. This AM i did not drag my but out of bed soon enough so I will walk outside after I lift. Have a great day.
  13. I sometimes feel the same way you do! But I think we both made the right choice. I know people who have had the bypass and also loose slower or loose all the weight quick and then start to gain it back. I know I have days when I don't want to eat the way I should and I know this has slowed my loss. But I am not perfect if I was I never whould have had weight loss surgery. I hope I acheive your loss at 9 months I think you have done great! Keep up the good work and mabie with this next fill the lbs will start to fall off.
  14. the pain could have been from the sugar alcohol, that causes gi discomfourt for some. almost all sugar free candy has sugar alcohols in it. My doc says sugar alcohol is no beter for you than sugar. I also love sugar free candy it is hard to resist. Sometimes that bad taste in your mouth is caused beecause you are in fat burning mode. Embrace your bad breath it means you are on your way to being skiny!

    sugar is bad for everyone because it makes us Fat. Most things made with sugar are empty calories, that offer no nutritional value like candy, sweets, exc. to bad it tastes SOOOO good!

    South beach diet newbie

    For the most part I eat like they say to eat in the 1st stage of the south beach diet. Lean protein, low carb veggies, berries, low carb yougurt, and nuts. When I eat like this my cravings are alot less. The problem is when you fall off the "bandwagon" the weight seems to come back quicker. I never go on to the next stages because when I eat higher carb veggies, brown rice and pasta and whole grains my cravings return.

    June to Labor Day Challenge

    I did not meet my goal of 245, I'm ok with that though I refuse to beat myself up. This AM I was 255. I know I could have made it even though it was a tough goal to get to. I'm down 30lbs and without the band I could have gaind 30lbs in this amount of time! As of this AM I am back to sticking to theband rules. Summer is over and I want to look great for the holidays! Congrats to everyone who made their goal and also to everyon that did not!!!
  20. DONT WORRY!!!!! No one told me it would take several fills before I had restriction. I was so woried a few weeks after surgery because I could eat the same way I could eat before surgery. I tried to eat the "clean" foods my doctor requires me to eat, I excersied and managed to loose during this phase. I had my surgery on May 14, 2008 and it has taken 3 fills to get decent restriction. I just had my 3rd fill on Friday and finnaly am restricted to that 4-6oz serving size everyone always talks about. It has taken 3 months but it has given me an adjustment period to gradually cut back on the amount of food i eat. You WILL get there. Good Luck!

    Lost 70....gained 70...

    why not really start over. Why don't you have all of your fill removed. Go on a liquid diet for a week just like you are getting ready for surgery. And then go in and have your band filled slowley like you did in the begining. Try to pretend you never had the band befor this, try to recapture that excitement you had before you had the band. It is so great you quit smoking I have been there to and it is so hard. If you can do it once you can do it again! Hang in there and keep us posted!

    Tea goes down fine-cold water doesn't

    Do you think it is because we take bigger drinks of the cold stuff and sip on the hot stuff. I know sometimes when I am really thirsty it is hard for me not to take big gulps of ice H2O!

    I lil upset

    When I started mushies I gained! I think your body goes into starvation mode and when you start putting in real food your system holds on to every calorie! Your body will get used to it. However I did not start to loose agian untill my first fill, I know some do but don't get discouraged if you dont. Some take several fills, we all are so different!

    Weigh in... how much have u lost?

    It's amazing how differently we all loose. I'm one of the slower ones but I know I am gaining Mucle. And can see a major change in my body. I am lifting weights 3 times a week for 1.5 hours. Also cardio a few times a week so I am thrilled with my progress. Was down 3lbs this AM! Keep up the great work everyone!!!
