Relationship Question: Full on communication to None
"Just" Paul replied to TexasRose's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Let me preface this with the fact that I am not defending this guy... he should have called. Now, onto the guy opinion... Remember, guys have different views on time than women. Not an excuse, a fact. Since he was having a medical issue (and guys are very whiney on this stuff) he was focused on himself. Selfish, yes, true... also yes. Therfore in his mind, he was unlikely taking a long time between communications. Yes, it is a guy thing. He did contact you when it was over, which shows continued interest. I agree to let him know that you were concerned, and that he could have contacted you, amybe you'd have brought him soup or something (guys like that stuff), and it will make him feel guilty. Guilt really works on guys if they like you.:think See how re acts on the next date or two. If he brings you flowers as an apology, then he is sincere, and was not thinking about anyone but himself. It doesn't make him a bad guy, it just makes him a guy. Again, not defending him, just hoping to explain how guys think. Remember, we do not mind read, women need to tell us what they want and expect. Men are stupid, women have ESP.:heh: My 2cents. -

Damn good food in Florida... Gained 2 lbs over the long weekend... damn seafood... 371...223...189 up two since last weigh-in. 148 lbs gone since Nov. 17, 2005. On a good note, went in another belt notch. Can wear a 36 pants now, but my ass still wants a 38... damn ass... Sorry P'nut and Dawg about the hives thing. My dad suffers from something called "giant hives". Don't know what causes it, but he frequently gets these enormous hives all over his body, several times a day! It is horrible to look at, and makes him extremely uncomfortable. BTW, you two are doing AMAZING! Dawg, how can you do it bandless, I am in awe! Tricia, welcome back, hope you had a nice trip. Heather... GREAT WORK! You look teriffic! incredible changes! Moreorless, like the new avatar... keep up your hard work, you make us all look lazy! Bestme... Great job, you are doing amazing! Ericmom... you WILL make it! Twoterville, here you come! Hope everyone had a better weight loss week than I did! -

AWESOME! Did you know the average American woman wears between a 12 and 16? That means you are there, girl! Anything from here on is gravy! Pretty soon you will be skinnier than average! BTW, I'm going to Florida this weekend too, great minds must think alike. Will be my daughter's first time on an airplane, she is 5 and petrified... Patsy Kline and Amelia Earhardt... long story, but she keeps asking if it is gonna crash. Hmmm double dose of drowsy Dramamine, maybe? Anyone got any tips? -

I put on a tshirt the other day, plain grey older one, to work around the house. An hour later my wife asked me why I put on one of her old shirts... it was one that used to belong to her dad... a men's medium... MEDIUM. Granted, it was old and stretched out, but it was still a medium. I went out and bought some new ones, and a regular new large fits great. I used to wear 3-4x shirts, now a large to medium!!!!!! -

Emilee... WAY TO GO... WAHOO!!!:whoo: Can't wait to get there! -
You need to have your DOCTOR answer this question as to what he/she considers to be liquid/mushie etc. Then follow the doctor's instruction to the letter. Docs can vary, and if you want to get the most of your expeuience with yours, you should have this info from them... in detail. If you have had surgery, and don't have any of this info (in detail), then I am concerned that your doc did not do that, and is not providing you with all you need. remember, the surgical part of this is only a fraction, and you and your band doc need to know and work on all of this together. Call the doc. BTW, welcome to bandland!!! This is a great journey! P

Dr. Eric is my doc. They will not fill mexican banded patients. Generally they will not fill patients they did not band, unless it is a relocated patient from a doc they have a relationship with. Sorry.

I'm from northern VA, near DC. Was banded last November, and am down 150 lbs, and feeling great!

That's a really good point. I can recall frequent times when I am just CRAVING a glass of cold skim milk. There's likely something in the milk (protein, Calcium, Vitamin D) that my body wants. I guess the trick is to listen properly... many of the above things would be in icecream too, but better to opt for the skim milk... right? -
What will you do with your underwear??

Yep. Not that I don't think they look sexy on a woman, but the thought of something in my crack all day... Well, let's just say... no.:rolleyes -

I had to get new ones. Anytime I'd go to change my clothesw, my wife would start calling me "Johnny sack pants". The my 5 year old would join in. Hadda get new briefs, then! -
Cheating - what if...

Cheating..No, not with food!

I agree, but I was talking about opportunity. When one considers that an unhealthy, unconfidant person, who potentially could be a cheater, but isn't, changes into a more attractive confident person, could that alter the opportunity? -

Hmmmm... very interesting! Could it also be for all of us, that our likelyhood might increase as we get more attractive to the opposite sex, and have more personal confidence in ourselves (which also makes us outwardly more attractive). -

there is something to be said for that statement. Men do talk on such issues more than women, at least the ones I know. interesting thought... something to ponder over. Good points, everyone. -

I don't think I could flirt with both sexes, sorry. Was hit on a few years ago at a Gay friends party. Another friend of his started hitting on me at the bar. he was a little loaded, and told me how much he liked big guys etc. I broke the news to him that I was Hetero, but he said I should try it out going the other way. he was very persistent, but unsuccessful. No bi here, sorry.:omg: -
If you can find it, Light and Lively is good too.

I've not wanted to chime in here, but this thread is taking an alarming anti-male tone. It is a two way street folks. Don't put all the burden, or all the blame on half of the marriage. If I were to say... most women are Assholes (I do NOT believe that, I am just using it to make a point), you'd get mad at me for making a crass generalization. saying most men cheat, is not your opinion, it is a ridiculous made-up fact that you are saying to make the husbands out to be the bad guys, and the wives into innocent bystanders that "just never saw it coming. Both concepts are ridiculous. Most men aren't that selfish, and most women aren't that stupid. Let's stay away from making rash assumptions about the entire male population, even if it is just your opinion. I agree. As a man, it was insulting. Just my opinion. next time just say all men are low life dogs.
