Gone For Good Club- August 2006

Thanks Dawg. Yeah, I am adjusting my goals, and don't really believe 189 is the place to be. I just wanna shoot for 200-199. I do have the skin, but remarkably, only on my stomach, in the front, my skin has been remarkably resiliant otherwise. Maybe this are will return eventually too! yeah, I went on the clothes from tight 3xl, to just L, and even medium size in my under drawers!... 58 waist to a 36... if I can just get to a 34, I can say I lost 2 FEET in my waistline... that would be cool! Thanks for the good thoughts! -

I went from 5CC to 6.8, and felt fine at the doc's office, had been feeling really open lately. I thought it was a bit much, but everything showed it to be OK at his office. The came saturday AM... reflux... then a glass of OJ actually burned going down, and I couldn't manage my AM cup of coffee (I always look forward to the AM coffee as it is so warm and soothing when I am tight in the AM). By sunday evening, I was really uncomfortable, and can't even eat a decent amount of Soup, and can only sip Water (room temperature) in the tiniest quantities. -
Done! I hope you win, and I DO want my lousy t-shirt!

ONly bad fill I have ever had, and It was my fault as I insisted he get agressive, as I hoped to make this my last fill. Actually, it feels a lot like it did when I came home from the hospital. Don't let my bad experience discourage anyone, I've lost 153 lbs since November 17th... cannot complain about 5 days of discomfort, after the new changes I have seen! -

All, Haven't lost in over a month, and have been able to eat WAAAYYYY more, so went in for some fill last week... bad idea... Way too tight, throwing up, acid reflux, haven't slept in days, lots of pain... getting partial unfill (back to where I was last week) later today... Pardon if I don't post much today, feeling rather poorly, haven't had much to eat or drink in 5 days. On the good front, down to 218 lbs... that's 153 lbs down, and only 29 lbs from goal! Not the way I wanted to lose a couple though! Later. -

I'll be out of town that weekend, sorry. Otherwise, would have been a great opportunity to meet more bandsters!

Shelly is 100% right. Heck, everyone is 100% right, as each person is different and reacts differently! Good info from both Shelly and Dawg!

Dawg is 100% on the money! As usual!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I don't "count" carbs anymore. I do, however avoid eating the "whites" as my primary meal. What I've always been told to do is to eat Protein first, then veggies, and if I still have room... the starches. Most times, I am so full by that point, that I eat very little of them. I use Splenda instead of sugar, soy flour for baking and flouring items, and dreamfields Pasta when the urge hits. So, even though I am not counting, I'm still doing it. Main difference is, when I DO eat carbs (and we all do have occasional treats) I end up more hungry later, and then I have to spend time (sometimes the next few days) fighting off the old urges for foods. Amazing how it does that! For me, it just reinforces the thoery (for me) that carbs are my enemy. Down with White food!

' Not unless referred to by another physician (i.e a banded patient moving into the area from another state, far from their doc). He does NOT fill Mexican banded patients

As a point of reference... Atkins has NEVER been a No-Carb diet... it IS low-carb. A very common misconception. If you are watching refined carbs in your diet, and avoiding sugar, bread, Pasta and other "white" foods, then you are following Atkins guidelines, whether you realize it or not. Just my 2 cents.

heathergurl... I'm with you on that one. Am in 36-38 jeans right now, will be my one year bandiversary in November... and would love to get back into a 34 waist pants! Haven't worn them since 9th grade, and I'll be 41 in November too. Would be a great birthday present. More crunches... more crunches... more crunches. -

You are too new to this to be of value in the discussion... bla bla bla... bla bla bla... heh heh heh. Did I kill it yet? Just kidding. Your post is actually pretty darn correct, but I had to tease ya!

I'm in the same boat, and will likely look into one too. I am anxious for those that have experienced this to chime in!

Sorry, not gonna happen for me. I have a big round noggin, would look like Charlie Brown. We can all pitch in and send her some car polish, to get her cranium to a high gloss shine! Just teasing. BTW, no change for me this week.
