I was a NEEERRRRRVVVOOOUUUSSSSS wreck the days before my surgery... and you know what... It went easy, and has been SOOO worth while. You can make it. Take a nice walk, a soothing bath, take your mind off of it. All will be well.

These goals all sound like me, except for the shaving my legs, and Lane Bryant thing...

If you like meat sauce, make yourself a noodle-less lasagne. Layer sauce with cooked ground meat (pork, beef or sausage) over layers of ricotta cheese and mozzarella cheese. Make 2-3 layers. Bake like a lasagne. Easy to put down, and tasty too. I used a similar idea when I was on Atkins years ago. Give it a shot, warms your innards! Tasty too.

From experience... Watch the sugar-free items with sorbitol, malitol and the like. They are called sugar alcohols, and your body does not digest them, thus they do not add to you like sugar... unfortunately, they tend to pass through your colon rather vigorously, and can cause major gas and diarrhea when eaten in larger quantities (larger being the relative term). I unfortunately speak from experience dealing with sugarfree candy and maple syrup on low carb pancakes (it was sooo good I used a nice sized portion).

Oh the pain, the pain... I'm so damaged. Unfortunately, until I lose this weight, I probably could fill up a bustierre. What I really wanna know, is who told you all about the whip? Has my wife been on here? Hell, I give her a safety word. Sure it's hard to say with the gag, but... I'm just so naughty! I think I need a good spanking. Oh, No... did I go too far again?

Impressive is good. I'll take that!

They make those diecast collectible models of vehicles. You could get one of a fire engine, and have it put in a nice display case maybe with his name and the date he started firefighting engraved on the placard. Here are some others... http://michaelgarman.com/shop/firefighters http://thefirestore.com/?OVRAW=gifts%20for%20firefighters&OVKEY=fire%20fighter%20gift&OVMTC=standard http://www.chicagofirestore.com/ http://www.ourdesigns.com/ http://firefighters.collectiblestoday.com/ct/store/firefighters/store_fire_front.jsp?fr=FP-tab-web-t-296&toggle=1&cop=&ei=UTF-8&cm_ven=Search&cm_cat=Inktomi&cm_pla=TFG&cm_ite=Firefighter+Shop&ovchn=INK&ovcpn=SiteMatch&ovcrn=Firefighter+Shop&ovtac=PI&refer=http://search.yahoo.com/search Now, about the TV... See if you can find the cheapest, most beat-up TV ever (Maybe from trash or a garage sale). The uglier the better. Put it, and a couple pairs of cheap binoculars in a box. When they unwrap it, show them that with the binoculars, they have the new big screen TV they always wanted! Then direct them to the real box in another room. Those are my thoughts.

AWESOME! Way to go. Keep it up, you'll be there in no time! -
Make your own events, and get out there and meet people. Church, the supermarket, Your doc's band support group (mine has one), clubs, try the meet-up groups in yahoo (people with similar interests get together), volunteer organizations, the workplace, etc. Look, 1 in 4 people in the country is overweight. There is no need for you to feel inferior to the "skinny crowd". If estimations go as predicted, within 50 years overweight people will outnumber the skinny ones, so they'd better be nice to you or else There are people out there for you to meet and make relationships with. It may take time, and there may be setbacks, but like anything worth having, it takes an effort to do it. There are people out there with interests like you. Look, I have a friend from high school. He is balding, short, very overweight, legally deaf (wears hearing aids), wears pop-bottle glasses, is not very attractive and is a geek. He could never get dates, had few friends, and was lonely. I discovered him and became his friend, and my friends became his friends. He has a lot of friends. At the ago of 35, he came out of the closet and admitted he was a homosexual. So now, he is a balding, short, very overweight, legally deaf (wears hearing aids), pop-bottle glasses wearing, not very attractive, geeky homosexual. You'd think this would make him more lonely. Instead, he found love, and has been with his partner now for the last 3 years. For you religious folks out there, I am not condoning his lifestyle choice, nor am I defiling it, this is just an example. If there is a friend out there for him, then there are friends out there for everyone! You just have to keep looking for them...everywhere. Get on out there and enjoy your life. Your body is not a prison, don't let it imprison you! Your support is all here. We're behind you 100% Positive outlook will yield positive results. HOORAY FOR YOU! GO GET EM! You are worth it!

This group is the best support ever! Don't hesitate to ask anything, the answers (and many opinions!) are here. Welcome!
