I don't know if I regret getting the band but I'm disapointed. Had my first fill 3/26/08. Dr. was not happy when I told him I can eat anything. I still lost 5 lbs. Dr. said I need to diet. I thought I got the band so I didn't have to diet. If it took diet then why get the band. I know I need to eat healthy but diet!

How much does your dr. charge for fills. My insurance paid for some, but then got a bill from the dr. for the rest.

I have a 14cc band. I had my first fill on 03/26/08 the doctor put in 3cc. He wasn't sure if he would fill it because I still am not hungry. But I still can eat anything I want and the dr. was mad about that. Said I need to diet. I didn't think I would need to diet once got banded. I thought I would just have to watch what eat. Now I wish I didn't have the band. If I just need diet that's what I would have tried again and again.

Sweet_pea_2 I just want to get one thing straight. I did very well pre & post op. in fact I lost 30lbs. during that time. I was even cooking for 4 other people and never cheated. It was after I got on regular food that I started to have problems. I'm a compulsive eater and that is why I got banded. I try very hard to stay on track ever day but it's very hard to break old habits over night. I don't get my first fill until 3/26. If you have that much self control then why did you get banded? You may like to be direct and to the point but don't be so judgmental. Until you get to this point you have no idea how hard it is.I hope you can stay on tract.

I know that you can still eat alot before your firts fill. But I feel really bad because I'm back to over eating and have gained 3lbs back. I go for my first fill 3/26/08 can't wait. Have anyone else over eaten before their fill? Can you stretch your new stomach? I'm worried about all of this.

How do you know if your band slipped?

Hi Nicole, I too was banded in Windber by Dr. Marley. They are the best. I was banded Feb. 11 2008. Do you go to the support meeting? I haven't in awhile but plan to go in March. Stay in touch. Jill

I have had my band since Feb 11th. I haven't felt it yet. I don't think you will but I don't know for sure.

Hi everyone I'm doing much better now that I'm mushy foods. It taste so good, but now I worry that I'm eating to much. I don't get my first fill until March 26st.

I have a slow thyroid and on med. for it. I wa banded on Feb. 11th and have lost 30lbs. total, but now that I'm on soft foods I haven't lost anything. I now worry about my throid causing problems.

I have a slow thyorid. Will that make it hard to loss even with the band? I'm on meds for it.

I was banded Feb. 11,2008 and I have lots of gas and get stomach cramp. Has anyone else had this?

I feel the same way,because they had to put a larger band on and it's still very tight. Dr. said I won't need a fill for a good while. Since the pre-op diet I have lost 29lbs. Banded on Feb 11, 2008. I'm really sorry that I had it done. I know I needed it but this life style sucks!
