  1. Sun Shynne, There is a great support group the last Thursday night each month at Davis Hospital. It is a small group, but we share lots of ideas. Call Dr. Robinson's office if you are interested. We'd love to have you!

    What did you wear?

I wore sweats to and from the hospital. I stayed overnight and had basic PJs to wear. I wanted to feel comfortable when I got up to walk around and didn't think the hospital gown would allow this.
  6. Please let your doctor know of the lack of support from hospital staff. After surgery, you don't need judgement. You need pain meds, someone to walk with you, and an extra pillow! I was banded on the 21st and feel great, but I have lots of support. I really didn't hide this from anyone except my eight year old and my middle school students. I am viewing this as my tool to a healthy weight. You will not lose weight with the band if that's what people think. You lose weight based on how you use this aid. Good luck.
  7. My BMI was 37. I told everyone and received a lot of support. I simply told them that I needed a better tool to help me with my weight loss. I proceeded with giving them a lot more information on the lap-band than they ever wanted! I need their support and appreciate it. The only people I really didn't tell were my middle school students and my 8 year old. I don't want anyone to think this was the easy way out.
