I tell people that I'm on a diet and I don't want to sabotage it. I have also brought my own food. People are very supportive.

The dreaded meatball
CindeeT replied to RXTECH8883's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Been there done that! Sounds like too much too soon. Eat more slowly...drinking when that happens does tend to make things worse! I've found that if the pain is that bad...something is stuck. I've found, by trial and error, that it is sometimes best to cough up the offending food other than wait it out. You get immediate relief and it doesn't hurt to get rid of it. -
Just a little bit sore at the incision site....was shopping at WalMart the day after surgery. I went home same day of surgery...no worries!

amount of food-before 1st fill?
CindeeT replied to Lindypie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sounds to me like your only losing because you're starving yourself. People get the band because traditional weight loss methods have failed for us...tell your doctor that you wouldn't have had the surgery if you didn't need the band to help you and to get you filled. When properly filled you should not feel hungry after small meals that's the point of having the band. You're not utilizing the tool that you've spent good money and pain on! -
I am freaking out!! I need advice......
CindeeT replied to findingme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Have you lost 44 lbs in approx. 1 month or was this pre-op weight loss too? The reason that I'm aksing is because I have zero restriction feeling from surgery and am starving all of the time! I lost 7 lbs the first week after surgery and haven't lost anything for the past three days. I try to stop the hunger with low call liquids but today I moved up to creamy soups hoping they would last longer. -
What to tell co-workers

Tell them that you are having "female surgery" it's not a lie..you are female...and it usually shuts people right up! -
Thanks for the info. folks...I'm relieved.

I was glad to read the responses to your water question. I am 6 days post surgery and have NO problem drinking liquids at a normal rate. I was worried that something may be wrong. Thank you!

Get an adjustment! Why not take advantage of the band to it's fullest? If you experience any difficulty with the restriction you can always have it loosened.
