Thanks. I tried searching the subject, but my computer dummyness is getting in the way too. When I search threads it comes up with 40 million threads that don't seem to have any relevance to what I am checking into. Any suggestions? Remember I need it firstgrader terms. -
Thank you...the pics did the trick.

YEP I am a computer dummy. I was trying to stick it in the wrong place all this time. Ya know...first graders can read these days. My 6 year old grandson can read. Me...I need pictures.:biggrin:

Okay...what about morning coffee. Like a skinny vanilla latte from starbucks or just plain coffee?

Well I better get to diet coke ahaulics before I have this done, because I will probably strangle my husband if I am going thru food and diet coke withdrawal at the same time. Maybe I should just send him away for the first month. LOL

How is this pre surgery diet? Is it hard to stay on before the band? I know it is important to loose that fat for the surgery. I am just wondering that if I don't have the willpower to stay on a diet now, how in the world am I going to do on a liquid diet for two weeks prior to surgery.:confused2: Do they give you supplements to help curb your appetite?:confused2:

Pre surgery diet...can I do it?

14 days of low fat liquid diet. UHG!!!!!! -
Lucky? I hope it is now. If this is indeed the start of my successful journey with the lap band then I will forever consider it my lucky day. Currently it hasn't had a very good track record. I married my first husband on Friday the 13th 30 years ago! That was the start of my weight problems, and the destruction of my self esteem. We eloped to SC. and I didn't realize it was Friday the 13th until I was signing the marriage certificate.

If I am self pay, do I need to go to a seminar? One center I checked out... that is where they do the inital consulation, and it costs $100. One center said that if I felt that I was informed enough I did not need to go to one, but it is free if I want it. Other sites I have checked out, seem to steer you to the seminars first. I am a reader and a one on one kind of person, and I really hate seminars! :cursing: Do I have to go to one before surgery?

How do you get the ticker thingy that tracks your weight and bmi at the bottom of your messages. I want to put mine up there next Friday after I get back from my initial consultation.

I am self pay and I have been quoted 12,900 here in Houston. This includes Surgery Center Surgeon's Fee Anesthesiologist's Fee 10 Visits of Fills, Adjustments, and Follow-ups for two years Is this a good deal? Should I be looking for more? And how can I check out a centers track record? The AMA? BBB?
-
Thanks, I will check them out.
-
Where was it? I read somewhere else that someone in Conroe got about the same deal as yours and it included a personal trainer for a year
-
I was just quoted 12,900 yesterday, this includes surgery center, surgeon's fee, anesthesiologist's fee, and 10 Visits of Fills, Adjustments, and Follow-ups for two years. From what I am reading here that is pretty good huh? How do I check this place out. Is there some way to check them like you can businesses with the BBB? AMA maybe?

You would think that since I was in there getting the hernia repaired that I could get some kind of break on the band. If my insurance is paying 100% for the hernia repair, and they are doing the lap band at the same time, I should at least get a break on the anestesia since I will already be out for the hernia repair.:confused2:

have to self pay. Do to an unforseen windfall, forturnatly I will be able to do so, but I sure would like to save some of that money if I can. I have a small umbilical hernia. Does anyone know if I could get a discount on the lap band if I have another insurance covered procedure done at the same time? When I had my hyatel hernia fixed I asked the surgeon just before surgery if they could take out my remaining ovary with a cyst on it. He said yes...I signed the papers right there, and they did it all at the same time. Come to find out I saved my insurance money, because they were already paying for a laprascopic procedure, so all that was added bill was the cost of removing the ovary...Am I rambling to the point to where no one has a clue what I am talking about?
