  1. I had a pre-op consultation today. Doc said to bring my cpap. I don't have it anymore. Hated it. I do have my husband's but I think it is set higher than mine was. Has anyone ever gone to the hospital and "forgotten" their cpap. I don't want to not have my surgery but the cpap is really going to be a problem. I stopped at a local med supply to ask about the nose pillows. They wanted 35 dollars for them. I will never ever use them (hopefully) but even if I am forced to use it, that's a lot of $$$ for a few hours post-op. Do any of the nurses out here know anything about the cpaps and what happens if I sort of forget to bring it?
  2. Did you make a mistake? That's more than one hundred pounds. Or was your surgery in 2007?
  3. Did you need anything for pain after the surgery? Glad to hear you are doing well.
  4. Sorry, I don't know what keloids are?
  5. I know I am obsessed with reading all your notes. We are all banded together even before we are banded. Thanks for all the information and encouragement.
  6. My surgery is on a Tuesday. I plan to go back to my pt sit down job on Friday. Does that seem realistic?
  7. Yahoo! Glad to hear you are doing well. Are you back to work? Any advice on what to bring to the hospital? Did you have much abdominal pain? Since I have had a couple of abdominal surgeries and know sort of what to expect that is not a big concern for me. When will your doc let you do mushies? drive? hopefully the vacuuming won't come too soon LOL.
  8. I know, there is so much to read that we can't remember it all. I started the pre-op diet on 10/1/08. The first 2 days were the hardest. Surgery for me is 10/14...How about you?

  9. Hmm I finally got it. I resubmitted the request. But then it said I do not have access to the spread sheet. I am doing something wrong I think.:tt2:
  10. I can not remember my google password so I guess I can't get there. Supposedly they were going to email it to me but nothing in about 3 hours :tt2:
  11. They all did a great job! I was not sure at first if it really was Ifill. And the Palin person has all the right mannerisms.
  12. OMG The Palin-Biden clip is hilarious. TKS for sharing and good luck with your band!
  13. Wow! Renew...you look great. Sure gives hope to the rest ot us.
  14. Congrats on the new life! Please stay on this thread. It is good to hear how things have progressed. What do you thing was the most difficult for you?
  15. Yikes, I never thought about trouble getting in and out of bed. I appreciate the understanding about not wanting to tell some folks. How are you doing by now? People at work must be asking how you lost so much weight. Has the weigh loss change your relationships with people? If so, for the better or not?

  16. Good luck with everything. I will looking to see how you do on Tuesday. My name is Norma.

  17. :cursing:oops that was "hunger did go away" Surgery scheduled for 10/14
  18. Why is the BMI so high in your area. Here it is 35 with HBP and ^ cholestrol. This is my 3rd day of restricted pre-op and the hunger did no away like someone said it would. Only side effect, I gotta pee 3 times during the night!!! too much...I disturb my dog when I get up!
  19. I am glad you are doing so well! Were you able to drive to Wal-Mart? I think different doctors have different guidelines about the pre-op diet. Your doctor's plan sounds great to me. I have a 2 week mostly liquid pre-op regime. What is the Lortab for? Is it a sleep med?:w00t:
  20. Wow...your message is encouraging. I am hungry all the time. I look forward to the hunger stopping. I have had what I think are hunger headaches. Does that get better too?

  21. Hi,

Although you are younger than I am by a decade I think our journey to a new life maybe similar. I was 216 at my heaviest but was able to lose nearly 20 lbs before I finally got insurance approval. Hope you don't mind if I add you to my contact list?

  22. Congrats! You have made the step over to your new, wonderful life!
  23. It is helpful to know that others are feeling the same things I am feeling. Next Tuesday is going to be a real challenge. My sister is visiting from Texas. I prefer not to tell her what I am about to do...long story. Anyway, we are doing lunch with my brother's widow. I guess I will order ground round and a veggie and water or herbal tea and just tell her I am cutting back. My sister in law is an angel but she is unable to speak as a result of a stroke so it is going to be difficult to carry on a conversation while avoiding the weight talk. My sister in law may not have had the stroke if she had followed our path and had lap band surgery. Just think of all the good that is going to come from learning new, healthy habits! YEAH to us!
  24. I am on for 10/14. Second day of pre-op diet. Could eat a whole cow I think!
  25. Good luck! You are so similar too me. My BMI is 35.1 and my surgery is going to be on 10/14. I will be keeping track of what is going on with you. Hopefully we will begin 2009 feeling great and looking wonderful in a size or two smaller!
