  1. Thanks! So cool...Good golly, Miss Molly! Shorts for Easter...It isn't warm enough yet here for shorts but you're gonna be looking great in those...was it a size 12?! I know it is pretty neat to try on clothes and they are too big, sure beats the bummed out feeling when they are too small. I was at my band doc today. My cholestrol is not where it should be. I think the fat content in my cheesy diet has taken a toll. It has gone up in the last 3 months. Oatmeal might help but they do discourage carbs. Is anyone else having a problem with cholestrol? byw Molly...did you say a 12? What size are you hoping for? 12 sounds really good.
  2. OMG!!! Almost there. I am so excited.
  3. Molly...Try shopping for clothes. I always pick larger sizes than I need. My mind has not caught up with my body. Yesterday I bought a pair of capris. They looked like they were running small so I bought a size bigger than the other things I am wearing without trying them on. Sam's does not have a fitting room. When I got home they were 2 sizes too big. Sure feels better than finding them to be too small.

Glad to hear things are getting better Rosie. 22 lbs in 21 days may be a bit too much. Now that you are on soft foods it should help keep up your energy level. How long has it been since your surgery? I got my first fill about a month after my surgery. It worked out just fine but I had not had the complications you have had.
  5. Julie, How nice. I looked at the site and then read your input. You are obviously a very intelligent and lovely person. I am glad you are not holding yourself back anymore. Good things are ahead for you.
  6. Excellent Karen! You are doing great. Does not sound like any bad habits are in control. Keep up the great work.
  7. Bridgette, You are doing wonderfully. You have had tremendous success. I think you may need to reassess your expectations. You've lost over 50 pounds in about 6 months. That's really terrific. Be nice to yourself and not so demanding. Your family that has not seen you recently is going to be amazed at what they see on Easter! I am very proud of what you have done so far.

sugar free Popsicles were also ok. When can you do Protein shakes like Adkins? I was able to do those very soon, like about three or four days after surgery. Be careful with them because not all are low carb/low calorie but the Adkins shakes are perfect. I still (about 6 months post op) keep them in the house. When I feel really hungry and don't want to take time to fix something, I grab a shake to make sure I have something tasty and healthy.

    The fill has kicked in!

WOW...JulieAnn. 80 pounds is fantastic. You are doing great. I know you must feel great compared to pre-band days. Out new lives have only just begun!.
  10. Thanks for the congrats ladies. The next step I am wondering about is maintenance. Maintenance has always been my problem after a weight loss. Congrats to all of you on your successes. We have a life long bond from traveling this road together.
  11. My experience is much different than yours. I feel the change right away when I get a fill. Then it seems to loosen up after a few days. When I had my last fill it felt almost too tight for a few days. When it eased up a bit I knew I had found my sweet spot. I think your situation is farily unique.

MaRosie, You problems seem too much to me too. Please see your doctor. If your doctor is not helpful or the staff won't connect you with the doctor please consult your regular doctor.

WOW! I am so proud of you. 120 lbs is a whole person. It must feel wonderful not to carry around an adult person all time. I hope the shoulder is healing nicely now.
  14. Congrats Molly! I sure hope everyone will continue to keep in touch. Many people don't seem to have written in lately and I wonder about them. Hopefully they are all doing really well and are just too busy with their new life to check in.

Good luck with the roads MaRosie. The surgery will go fine. The amount of weight loss is not as important as the new health body. I am off bp meds and cholesterol meds. My legs don't ache and I can sleep at night without a cpap and uninterrupted. It's a new, better life. You will be on your way.
  16. Cyndy, Glad to hear it is something that will get better soon.
  17. Hi Cyndy, You are looking great! I don't have any advice for you. I just wanted to comment about how nice you look. The last suggestions sounded pretty good to me. Are you getting any exercise? That may make you feel better.
  18. Tyme2GetRite What wonderful words of wisdom. That will be my mantra. Thank-you
  19. Hi Betty, I sure hear you on the exercise. I need an exercise buddy so we can hold each other accountable. You think we could establish an exercise group of Oct 08 bandsters and log our progress. How could we motivate each other?
  20. I am not sure how big my band is. Doc told me but I have forgotten. I do know I have 6 cc in it. Another lady in the office that surgery a week before me was upset because she heard the numbers and I had more fill than she did. Let's just trust our doctors. They are getting paid well to make decisions as to what is right for us. Just as different doctors do things differently, we all react in our own way. Just think where we were on Oct. 1st and where we are now. We can all be proud of the changes we have made. :w00t:

I had an episode at a wedding reception. I ate far less and far slower than the other guests at the table. Non the less, I ate too much too quickly. I could feel it coming so I went to the ladies room and no one knew that I lost it. Yes, I so agree that that this part of learning new habits. It was not pleasant but I was able to eat a little dessert then.

Thanks for the info. I have had a couple of episodes of pbing. It seems to be that I eat too fast from time to time. It is a learning experience.

Yes, I do eat popcorn and have no trouble with it. Help...I hear people talk about PB. What do the letters stand for? I am pretty sure they are talking about getting food stuck but I need some clarification as to what the letters stand for?
  24. I suppose the getting started in a group is the hardest part of getting into an exercise routine. Group exercise sounds great--creates accountability. I am joining a yoga class the first week in April. Hopefully that will be a place to get committed.
  25. LoveIsLovely, I am so sad to hear about your little one. Have not been on for a couple of weeks so did not know until today. Hugs and best wishes for exercise...I have not figured out how to be motivated to exercise. Tell me folks...how do you do it?
