If I have an insulated bag, I'll cook up some boneless chicken cut into strips and I'll eat them cold. Or pack up a chicken salad or tuna salad. I'll carry protein bars and almonds. And cheese sticks

I was banded in 2008. Had the revision surgery on 2/4. I had minimal scar tissue, the doc said my band had started to slip and I had a small hiatel hernia he repaired. The recovery/ healing process went very smooth and I was expecting worse since it was all done in 1 surgery but was pleasantly suprised

You look fantastic!

8 weeks since surgery and I think I am flunking this test!

I'm also losing slow but I do feel the restriction. I'm able to eat pretty much anything but not a lot. ( I have not had desserts or pizza yet). The only bread I eat is a 1/2 of a sandwich thin toasted with tuna or chicken salad on top. I haven't done a lot of exercise because of work and waiting to get my foot treated. So far I'm averaging 10 pounds a month which I'm ok with. To me that's healthier than dropping 50 pounds in 2 months. But is does get frustrating reading about people losing so fast. But we were given a second chance with the revision. It just might take longer with some than others. -
Where is Mass are you? We have a lot of excellent doctors here in Mass

Post-op VSG - How do you feel about your body?

Good for you!! Great pics!!! -
My co- workers have been very supportive but I do feel that extra pressure to be successful because I failed with my band.

Just starting to consider this as an option...

I was getting really bad chest pains the last year of my band, the doctor took some saline out and I got immediate relief. Your symptoms remind me of what I had before band surgery and it turned out to be a hiatel hernia. As far as insurance, some will only cover 1 in a lifetime. My company had switched insurance since my band so I was able to get revision but they only covered 80%. Many also require to be at a certain BMI to qualify. I would definitely call them to go over the requirements but in the meantime, have some saline removed. -
I was in post op first but was too out of it to really notice. I didn't think the pain was that bad and I had revision surgery. I refused the pain meds after surgery because they made me SO nausea is the last time and I was fine. I only walked to go to the bathroom. Because I had revision surgery they told me to plan on 2 nights in the hospital but I went home the next day because I felt fine.

15 days out and haven't had that "full" feeling...what's wrong that I don't feel full yet?
LSF replied to nycchef76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I saw some previous posts from others that if they were still hungry on the "puréed" , their nutritionist let them start earlier on soft foods. I was allowed soft foods 8 days post-op but that was my normal plan. And every meal is different, some I can eat a good 4 oz and some I can only get a few bites and I'm full -
I occasionally get the nausea in the morning, I'll take a Tums and it's always helped me

February Sleevers - how are you doing?
LSF replied to healthiswealth's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My body is breaking down on me ????. I have had a lot of heel pain before the surgery so I haven't been able to walk for exercise which I LOVE to do. Finally got X-rays, I have a bone spur and the podiatrist can't see me until 4/23. I've been using the Cybex arc trainer at the gym since it doesn't aggravate my foot but my shoulder went out on my 2 days ago while I was chopping at ice outside. So aggravating!! But with the sleeve I feel great!! -
My lapband surgery in 2008 was with Pioneer Valley Surgical. That's where Fiallo was then I followed him to NE Surgical.
-
I should call to see if I can get in. I hope they put together a post op support group meeting. I really want to go but would prefer to be with people that have had the surgery

I agree with the Premier Protein. I've been drinking them since 2008. Costco also sells them by the case. I get the chocolate & vanilla. They also have a Strawberries & Cream but I don't want a case I'll have to look for it at Walmart

February Sleevers - how are you doing?
LSF replied to healthiswealth's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm losing slowly but I expected it - because mine was a revision surgery, I'm older and I carry my weight in my lower body. I also hVent exercised as much as I would like. I used to go to the track all the time to walk, I now have a bone spur in my heel. Have an appt scheduled with a podiatrist but they couldn't fit me in until mid- April. -
How long recovery from the removal?
LSF replied to Bndtoslv's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've read on previous posts that for just the removal recovery was pretty quick. I had a revision in 1 surgery. My recovery was VERY quick. I felt fine by day 2 but took 2 weeks off from work because the surgeon recommended it. I really could have gone back after a week. My boss was prepared to have me work 1/2 days if needed when I returned but I was fine -
Lol. You're not the first to have a day like that nor will you be the last. It's going to happen to all of us at some point during our weight loss journey. As long as we get back on track it's all good.

When I had the band I was able to eat chicken & steak as long as it was cut up into a salad. For some reason, the lettuce & dressing helped me to get it to a consistency to go through the band with no problems

Feeling scammed and aBANDoned! Read up Doctors!
LSF replied to fit2-btied's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would start the 6 months now!! Just get it on record to get the date moving. The upside of having a new insurance is that a lot of them will only cover 1 Bariatric surgery in a lifetime. I just recently had the band to sleeve revision and have a different insurance now than when I had the band - I still had to go through their 3 month requirement - psyc & nutritionist all over again. Good luck to you -
I totally agree with you!!

I haven't had alcohol yet but I use the Crystal Light liquid now with water. When I do plan to have a drink, I want to try Vodka w/ ice water and I'll squirt some of my Crystal Light liquid for flavor. I want to stay away from the sugary drinks

Greek yogurt, protein bars and almonds. I also like Atkins candy for a quick candy fix like their chocolate covered almonds, they have their version of Peanut M&Ms and a chocolate candy with caramel filling. They are all packaged in single serving packs

I read an article in a magazine that pretty much said what you do. It said for dieters eating protein, veggies and fruit w/low carb, sometimes your body needs a "cheat day" to jump start your system again. You just need to make sure you get back on track
