    Thunder thighs.

I'm hoping if I lose some weight the Plantar Facitis will get better or I'll be crushed. I had gotten into a routine of going to the track from March- Nov to walk on the weekends and it's going to kill me if I can't do that anymore. I might talk to my PCP about getting a cortisone shot

    Thunder thighs.

I also carry my weight in my hips, ass, thighs and calves. I used to walk a lot but I've developed plantar facitis in my left heel and walking aggravates it. I recently joined a gym - I'm only 2 weeks post op. I finally went yesterday - did 30 minutes on the treadmill and then my heel got agrivated!! I like the Cybex arc trainer- I tried the stairclimber & elliptical and was wiped out after 5 minutes

    Nights in hospital

My doctor told me to plan on 2 nights because mine was revision surgery but I went home the next day because I felt fine

    Good appt..

If the meatballs are wrong- what do they want you to eat? Can you eat tuna or chicken salad?
  5. When I had the band, I never had a problem with pasta. During the successful phase, I would make a large pasta dish, put it in 1 cup containers and freeze them. I treated myself to 1 per week. I'm still in the liquid phase now but would like to continue this down the road. I'm curious as to how others have been doing with the revision if they can tolerate pasta
  6. After the surgery I refused the pain meds because I didn't want the nausea and the pain wasn't that bad.
  7. I also stocked up on creamy soups. I just had Progressive Light Clam Chowder. I bought vegetable soups and lentl soups
  8. After drinking a million chocolate & vanilla protein shakes, I took 2 oz of refrigerated mashed potatoes, 2 tbsp of the Canned Hormel Chili w/beans and topped it with shredded cheese. I microwave it and its delicious!! It looks nasty stirred up but its so good!

    Pasta Anyone?

@@CowgirlJane, I love the advice you have been giving people. You are a true success story with the revision and I hope that I can be as successful as you are
  10. The magic words that I read that were instrumental in my decision were the people that said " the sleeve did what I thought the band was going to do". Deep down, I also knew that someday the band was going to need to come out and I was worried about the future - what if I move and have trouble finding a decent surgeon or my insurance changes and won't cover it" I realized I had to jump on it now. Plus- it was costing me $35 to go for fills & un-fills. Now I'm done! ( as long as there are no complications). Just have to pay for the follow up visits
  11. But I'm happy to see you are doing better
  12. I still think you should focus on 4 protein shakes a day before you overdue it with food. And maybe some soup - thick creamy soups. We were sleeved the same week. I haven't started with meat yet- just soups, Greek yogurt and mashed potatoes w/ chili & cheese

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

I'm so grateful that my surgeon did not put me on a 2 week liquid diet. I know I would have cheated. Mine was a low carb diet that also forbid pork products.
  14. I do think I'm going to be one of those "slow losers " always have been. I just don't want to get frustrated
  15. Maybe you will do better if you eat 5 or 6 small meals so that you don't get sick? I feel hungrier every day but the plan I was given was to have 4 shakes a day at this phase as well as 2 food choices for meals. I've only been drinking 2 shakes so I'm thinking I should try to increase my shakes- maybe then I won't be so hungry
  16. For all you out there that have had the revision surgery, how long were you in the hospital for? Any feedback would be great - I've had my band in since 2008 - with the first surgery, they tried to send me home that day but I was too nauseous to walk so I spent the night. Just wondering what the average stay is for the "revisions"
  17. I totally understand your fears. Mine were so similar. The one thing I did know was the band needed to come out! I wasn't really having any problems but I felt like something wasn't quite right and had gained most my weight back. Remember how well you did with the band in the beginning when it was all so new? Once you get a bad fill then it's all downhill from there. Well, did the revision- turns out the band had slipped and formed a hernia. I'm in the beginning phases of the sleeve and am following the rules just like I did with the band. I know it's up to me for this to be successful. I know I'm going to have my ups & downs but this was a chance I was willing to take. Good luck to you in your journey
  18. Start taking your chicken or other meat and cut it up in a salad. Eat lettuce with the meat and see if that helps it stay down. That's what worked for me when my band was too tight. It's too early to know how my sleeve is going to react

    Life after.....

Good question. I was wondering that myself what people are doing in restaurants without getting sick
  20. You can't go wrong with Protein Shakes right now

    February 3rd Sleevers

In the mornings I'm not really hungry but from 12:00 on - forget it!! I'm worried that I'm not going to lose cause I'm so hungry. For dinner I ate a cup of Progresso Light Clam Chowder. I didn't feel full so I had some Snack Pak Fat Free Pudding. I still felt hungry so I started to drink another protein shake but after 1 sip I didn't think I would be able to get it down so I put it away. That was an hour ago. I'm feeling hungry again but I don't want to eat after 7:30 at night so I keep sipping water

    HELP!

These are my biggest fears and I'm only 12 days post op. I'm craving everything under the sun but am restricted due to my post op diet. I'm amazed at all the people that post how they stay away from carbs - that too is my weakness and why I have failed diet after diet for years & years. Its too early for me to post "how much I love my sleeve!" because it hasn't done anything yet . I know what I plan to do and I really hope it works
  23. No don't be worried. I just had the revision from band to sleeve. My surgeon said that's what he's been doing with most of his lapband patients
  24. I would take liquid Nyquil at night
  25. I just saw a terrific recipe on Facebook. Its sliced tomatoes topped with provolone & parmesan cheese, spices and baked. It looks like mini pizzas but the tomatoes are the crust. I can't wait to make it
