How do you feel when you are getting full?
LSF replied to lauradevans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also had the band and find that the signals are similar to how the band was. I just had my 2 week post-op and told my doc I didn't throw up the first 2 weeks. I'm just following the feelings like I was getting with the band even though there is no band inside me now -
How do you feel when you are getting full?
LSF replied to lauradevans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As soon as you get that heavy chest feeling you described, I would stop for a bit -
Not really sure I'm happy with my gastric sleeve surgery choice
LSF replied to pinklady08619's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
By now you should be able to add yogurt & pudding. It will be fine. Even though everyone's plans are different, I say just add those if you're still confused -

Surgery this morning and feeling great!
LSF replied to MLP70's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think with the extreme anxiety we feel beforehand becomes such a relief afterwards that we realize we feel much better than we anticipated -
Am I doomed to fail? Is the sleeve right for me?
LSF replied to OldMomOf3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
With the sleeve, I think you will just feel less hungry vs restriction. So you will actually feel full instead of having to stop eating because you are restricted. I've read a lot of posts on here from people that stopped losing with the band and were able to lose more with the sleeve. Good luck to you! -
Feel like I can eat A LOT!
LSF replied to Veronica Page's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What CowgirlJane said is what happened to me with the band. I knew that 2 bites of a meal was not enough so I would take that "small meal" and finish it- even if it took me 90 minutes which started my " grazing phase" -
Hair Loss...it's kind of unsettling
LSF replied to mialoveslenny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How long were you on the liquid pre-op diet for? -

That's what I had to do in restaurants with my lapband!! The only problem was I had to order a meal that would make a good leftover so I used to order a lot of Pasta. Not sure what I'll be doing now- its too early to know what I can tolerate

Ha ha. Here's another one- 8 days post op I went to get a haircut. While in the chair, a guy in the salon was offering my hairdresser a truffle from a box of chocolates. He's holding the box next to my head, then pulls out the candy chart and has it in front of my face. I was like - WTF? Then he offered me one and I kept declining and he kept getting me to try one. I finally told him why I was declining and he was so sweet - looked shocked and said " you don't look heavy enough to need weight loss surgery"

I used to snack on cheese & crackers all the time before surgery. I haven't craved it yet but I'm only 2 weeks post op. I can't imagine fitting that snack in right now- I'm still trying to get my meals in

Those of us that do carry our weight in our lower half do tend to lose weight slower than those that carry most of their weight in their belly's

Start taking NyQuil at night

I couldn't help but laugh. I put it away for now, will open when I have company on a future date. Can't re-gift because she wrote my name on the wrapper lol. She did buy "dark chocolate candies " to be healthier.

Australia - Premier protein shake
LSF replied to Sassafrassa's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I would think all Costco carries it. If yours doesn't, google it and locate what stores near you have it. I've been drinking them since 2008 -when I got the band. Now I'm sleeved and still like them! -
Have you tried cutting up strawberries and making them in jello? That's what I had to do with my band and dim going to try it with the sleeve. Not for another month or so
-
I was under the impression that re: eggs & tuna, that's the normal amount for how much you can eat the first year

I'm shocked to see my surgeons old office has a commercial advertising the lapband surgery. They are saying " if you have 30 pounds or more to lose ..."

What to wear in hospital? What feels best?
LSF replied to OldMomOf3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
In the hospital it's just their gown. I brought a robe but never needed it. -
I can eat about a 1/2 can. I've had New England Clam Chowder and Vegetable Soup. I bought a Seafood Bisque but haven't tried it yet. I thought the clam chowder went down better than the vegetable. I'll try to buy Progresso Light soups . I also bought Lentl but haven't tried it yet
-
I have noticed that whenever I try something new- I can only take a couple of spoonfuls the first time and the next time I eat it I'm able to digest a lot more
-
Still haven't tried "food" yet but I'm having different soups. Have you tried them? Try a vegetable or Lentl soup. Maybe those will do better with your sleeve
