I was sleeved on 2/4 but when I'm cold it's been like 0 degrees outside. Sometimes I have to climb into my bed to warm up but I also sleep in a summer gown all year and do get toast warm in my bed.

Anyone have suggestions for preparing for surgery and recovery?
LSF replied to Bino's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Where will you be having your surgery? Mine was at Baystate. I pre- made a ton of meals and froze them in small containers. -
Do you mind me asking how old you are?

What can I eat instead of cake after 1 month post-op?
LSF replied to Luna Patricia Del Rosario's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Make a pudding pie. I buy the Keebler mini pie crusts and fill them with SF pudding and top with cool whip lite. As long as it's sitting in the fridge for over 24 hours, the pie crust will soften. And they are individual servings. You can make a variety of pies with different flavor puddings -
Make sure you talk to your primary because they also are required to sign off on the approval.

Yes I'm in MA on the CT border. I've been very open with everyone about my surgery because it will be obvious to others how slow you are eating. This way they don't question me or comment. -
What was it like going from liquids to soft foods?
LSF posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would love to hear from the "revisions" what it was like when you went from the liquid phase to the soft foods like yogurt, pudding etc.. -

I had surgery 2/4. I pre-made my jello the day before my surgery. Stocked up on soups and protein drinks. Costco sells Premier Protein which I love. I've been drinking them since 2008 when I got my lapband and just revised to sleeve. Plus they are 30 grams of protein. Walmart had an Atkins shake that's Mocha Latte. I bought a 4 pack and am regretting I didn't get more. They are delicious. I bought small paper coffee cups and I put my soup in those. Ocean State Job Lot sells little containers. I stocked up on those. I made a batch of ground chicken meatballs and stored those in small containers and put in the freezer -
hungry every 2-3 hours post op.

My nut said the same thing. Every 2-3 hours using 3 meals and a snack in between. -
HELP! PROTRIN SHAKES NAUSEATE ME
LSF replied to GEAUX SAINTS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm also 2 & 1/2 weeks out but I can have eggs, yogurt, Tunafish, chicken salad. I'm not having a problem with protein shakes but am enjoying being able to eat. Are you not eating soft foods yet? -
Are you eating a lot of protein? From what I've been reading on other posts- some people are upping their protein intake and then they start losing weight again

I'm a single mom living alone while my son is away in college so that's been easier for me. Today was the first day I cooked since surgery, I made ground chicken meatballs and I sautéed pepper & onions to put in the meatballs. It smelled so good!! I packed them into small containers and put them in the freezer

Gastric sleeve reconstruction surgery? Is that another term for the sleeve?
LSF replied to peacheeie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Maybe you don't have much restriction because you didn't have a lot of weight to lose when you got the sleeve? I just ate 3oz of tuna for the first time. Had no trouble getting it down. I'm still hungry so I'm eating jello. My nut - before surgery had me end my day with an Atkins bar and it really hit the spot. I plan on doing that once I'm allowed to start eating all foods -
It's too early for me to even think about doing anything to tempt me. I had 3 oz of Tunafish tonight for the first time - 16 days post op. I had no problem eating that at all. Still king of hungry so I'm having a cup of jello
-
My surgeon said I can take it with the sleeve.

My h pylori test was done with my bloodwork

CIGNA ins...help....what does this mean?
LSF replied to peacheeie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm feeling the restriction but I'm also having acid reflux problems. I saw the surgeon yesterday for my post-op - told him abut the reflux and he sad it was my esophagus but it hadn't been that bad so we really didn't dwell on it. Last night though - it was bad. I've only been taking tums but I think I'm going to go to the store to pick up something stronger. I'm going to start soft foods today. I'm also not feeling as hungry this week as I was last week -
I had gotten in the habit when my lapband was too tight to dissolve my pills in a cup of water flavored with crystal light or other SF flavored mix. Now I have the sleeve and am still doing the same thing. All I can really taste is the flavored water

8 days out from surgery and the liquid diet is not filling. Can i puree some foods ?
LSF replied to Michelle Harris's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pudding and yogurt will be fine at this stage -
That's like 5 pounds a week - the average is 1-3 a week so you are fine. Your body is just catching up - then you will start seeing the scale move again but don't be surprised if it's 1-3 pounds a week

Did anyone develop low blood sugar? I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU.
LSF replied to Thinkingthinner1109's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I saw a post somewhere - the person said they keep Apple Juice handy for when their blood sugar goes down and it brings it up immediately -
As long as it's mushy you can make whatever you want. Some people are making re-fried beans with melted cheese on top
