It's perfectly obscene to think that a woman could lose her temper and hurl an expletive that needs deletion Absolutely! We should go back to the good old days when we weren't allowed to show our ankles, go out without a chaperone, or get into Yale. A lady should be a lady!

OH NO! A WOMAN?!?!?! CURSING????????????? OH MY GOD! WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO? Men NEVER say things like that! And I'm certain that all of these statements are VERY accurate! Because they are from unnamed sources! And surely, if a man went around CURSING people would definitely take note and send around an email about it!!! If a woman curses, it means she's CRAZY!!! And CERTAINLY can't run the country! Oh my GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this letting me know that Hillary Clinton may or may not have cursed at people, because now I'm voting for someone else! Thank GOD I saw this post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If only it were that easy! I really hear you on the hunger front. That is the sole reason why I could not lose weight on my own. I always got too hungry on diets and eventually the calories would just always creep right back up. It seems like such a simple concept that some folks are just plain hungrier than others, and I don't understand why it seems so many people can't grasp that fact. Hunger is one of the main drives in a human. If anything is just slightly out of whack in someone with any one of the factors that regulates hunger, then it's easy to see how some people could be alot more hungry than others while they are on a diet, and why they eventually fail to keep calories at such a low level. Even on the highest level of Weight Watchers (the most points) I was starving all the time. It just never worked in the long term. My mom didn't want me to have the surgery either, but she eventually came around when she saw I wasn't backing down. I'm sure your mom will come around to it eventually. Is she well-educated about the band? If not, maybe her gaining knowledge about it would be helpful.

Whats the biggest weight loss myth you have ever heard?
Sunta replied to She Smiles's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My friend's mom told me (back in the 80's) that at her Weight Watchers meeting they said anytime you go to a party, just find the girl who's wearing white short-shorts and follow her around and eat whatever she eats. Weight Watchers has come out with some really wacky things over the years. When my grandmom was on it the 60's they could eat up to five hot dogs a day! I think it was more of a low carb diet back then and up until recently they really limited breads and starches. I've come to the conclusion that anything other than the golden rule (and the only thing that actually works) "take in fewer calories than you burn, and you will lose weight" is a complete and total myth. That's it. Calories in vs. calories out IS the only way to lose weight. Period. -
This is a very interesting topic and one that I've never heard discussed until today, but one that I think about whenever I see one. I think the shrines are grim, macabre, distracting, and depressing. That being said, anything that assists in making a grieving loved one feel comforted should supercede how I feel about the shrine. What is even more tacky is car memorials. Especially in cars where the car is all pimped out with new rims and a sub-wolfer. I get really irritated when that type of car not only blasts ear-piercing music but also reminds me how fleeting life is with a depressing memorial. I never feel like it is very genuine and I always think it's more of a fad or a fashion statement.

Christianity is not new material, it just isn't. If you research Christianity you will see it was borrowed from myths prior to Christianity. The Hindus, for example. Egyptians. Then we have holidays, Paganism anyone? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! That is the sound of my pleasurable sigh as I finally see a voice of reason in an unreasonable world. Bubblebutt, where have you been all my life?

I think the aunt is being very selfish and nasty by not letting Emily participate in some way in the wedding party, especially since you have offered to offset the financial burden by paying for the dress. What kind of person would knowingly hurt a little 11 year old's feelings? That is really rotten. That being said, I tend to agree with the other people who said "teaching that life isn't fair". As hurtful as it is, I think there's something positive in breaking it to kids gently, and early on, that sometimes, they are not going to be included in everything all the time. I agree with those who suggested that you could "make it up" to Emily by taking her out for a special day, perhaps to a salon to get her hair done and out to a fancy lunch. Explain that the decision was not based on the aunt liking Cheyenne better in any way, but that Cheyenne is older and therefore taller so she matches up with the boy, etc. And say "you'll be able to be in a wedding when you're a little older, and I'm sorry it didn't work out, but how about we have a special day together to make it up to you?" Cheyenne shouldn't be punished because of the aunt's rudeness, so this solution will make both kids feel special. In the meantime, does the aunt's future husband know he's marrying a B****? LOL!

Sorry, but I see absolutely no reason why this man should be viewed as any less credible than the original Jesus of the bible. Both of their stories seem completely crazy, impossible, mythological, and fantastical to me. I don't understand why one is "true" and the other isn't. As far as I'm concerned, the fact that people actually believe and follow this nut proves how religion preys on the vulnerable and appeals to those who need something, anything, in which to believe.

I have 100% perfect gaydar, and let me tell you, that woman is a total lesbian. So typical, the internalized homophobia/self hatred being expressed as hatred and bigotry against Gays. She would be sooooo hot if she wasn't such a disgusting human being...

Have they found the Boxes Jesus was buried in?
Sunta replied to Tired_Old_Man's topic in Rants & Raves
I have only know a handfull of gay people well, and every one of them had experienced some kind of emotional trauma growing up or as young adults. I don't know if that is universal, but it's what I personally am aware of. It is not universal at all. I for one was not molested, raped, abused, or otherwise traumatized in childhood (as many claiming to be "ex-Gays" claim they were). In fact I had a pretty happy and normal childhood. And alot of people go through huge trauma and are straight. All the misinformation flying around out there is so disheartening to me. As for the ex-Gays, sure, anyone can force themselves to abstain from any kind of sexual behavior. But for a Gay person, being married to someone of the opposite gender will never bring them the same kind of sexual and emotional fulfillment as being with someone of their gender. It's easy to close one's eyes and deaden your true sexuality. I know because I did it for ten years. But when they are reminded, by that new person they meet or just by letting their mind wander to days of old, their feelings come rushing back. I feel very sorry for these people and I understand their struggle because I'm living it every single day. I just wish their wasn't so much ignorance about homosexuality. I really think if people were better informed Gays would already be allowed to marry. No one can tell me I can "choose" to be straight. Believe me, I have tried. I have looked at pictures of gorgeous men and I have tried to feel what I feel when I look at a woman. It's just impossible. I'm married to an extremely handsome man for heaven's sake. But let me tell you, it's just simply not the same. I am never going to feel the same when I touch a man's skin as when I touch a woman's skin. I'm never going to feel that same sense of complete fulfillment when I hold a man as when I hold a woman. If I could choose differently, I would. Now I am being very disclosive and I hope that in doing so, I can make people at least become open to the possibility that being Gay is not a choice. It's not a choice for me and it's not a choice for millions of other people. Perhaps for some it is a choice, but for the majority of people I can say with 100% certainty that it is not. Believe me, please believe me. If you had ever seen the tears upon tears upon tears my husband and I have cried, you yourself would know I am right. -
Well, I went in for a CAT scan tonight to try to find out about this horrible pain I've been having in my port area. I'm one year banded and have lost 80 pounds. While I was in the dressing room, I put on that little hospital robe and for the first time in my adult life, IT WRAPPED ALL THE WAY AROUND MY BODY!!! How ironic is that??? I just had to laugh, here I am exactly one year and one day post banding, and having major band pain and possible complications, but yet what an NSV! LOL! At least at made me feel a tiny bit better!

that it is completely possible to get overcome with attraction and emotion to the point where you fully believe your sexual decisions cannot be overcome and are a part of who you are. And yet, when stepping back from the situation and understanding passions and drives for what they are, can be redirected. After 16 years of knowing my husband and 10 years of being married to him I have been unable to do this. That's fine for your friend but her experience does not apply to everyone. I think it's really not all that bright to apply the experience of your limited group of friends to the experiences of all Gay people, and it's attitudes like yours that continue to deny MY friends their rights. -
Sunta, what's going on with your band? Is everything OK? Hi, thanks for asking. I'm still awaiting the results of my CAT scan. I believe it's either a hernia or some form of IBS, but that is just from my own research. My symptoms are a severe pain on the left side of my port. It's a pinching/spasming pain that feels like it's in the muscles and nerves. It comes and goes though and sometimes it doesn't hurt at all. It's more like an "attack" I'll get from time to time, but at those times it's very very bad. It could also be something with the port tubing, but again I'm waiting to hear from my doc. I'll post when I do find out what it is.

My understanding of civil rights is that they apply to characteristics of people that cannot be changed (color, national origin, gender, etc.), not to actions they choose to participate in. Please explain why anyone would choose to be Gay. No one chooses to be Gay, they just are. I know from personal experience. I would do anything, anything at all, to suddenly become straight. Believe me, if I could take a pill and change into a straight woman, I would. I am married to a man who I met when I was 20 years old and didn't know a damn thing about life in general. He is a wonderful, amazing person, but I can't ever describe the pain we have been through because of my sexual orientation. You have no right to tell me I chose to be a lesbian. If I could choose differently, believe me I would. Honestly, you have no idea what you're talking about. You really don't. Sorry, but you don't. -
on holymoly a uk gossip site thats fairly evil and reliable they just said that anna nic ole died of a ruptured lapband. could this possibly be true? ive lost 30 pounds since dec 21 15 pounds away from my goal and am thinking of lettong my kid( shes 18) get one, and i do kno wfrom dr that a lapband was found inside of ans wich is why trimpsa has the lawsuit. b ut rupytiured? maybe aspirating in th enight? im scared/ anyone know anything about this? Well I haven't heard anything about this, but I do know that the medical examiner was asked point blank "Was there any evidence that she had weight loss surgery?" and he replied "No." I saw that on Larry King. He also said that every rumor he has heard is "totally unsubstantiated" and that there's "no evidence" to any of the rumors (pnumonia, lupus, etc) and that the tabloids are "using only their imaginations" to come up with these stories. Could you post the link where you saw the story?

Does your doctor's scale weigh you heavier than at home???
Sunta posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi, My doctor's scale weighs me 10-13 pounds heavier than my scale at home!!! That's alot! A friend of mine's scale weighs me about six pounds heavier than at home (she says her doctor's scale weighs her 4 pounds heavier than her scale at home). Other scales have weighed me lighter than my scale at home. Do you have the same experience and how will I ever know how much I really weigh??? Are doctor's scales really so accurate? How depressing that would be... -
Does your doctor's scale weigh you heavier than at home???
Sunta replied to Sunta's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So whenever I go for a fill, it's depressing. Not only does his scale weight so much higher than my home scale, but there's a ~15 lb loss (what I gained between consultation and surgery) that is never accounted for. Oh! Yes, great point! I too have that dreaded "unaccounted for" weight that I had gained in between my consultation and surgery. It's four pounds for me. Actually my consultation had me weighing in at a different place, so my surgeon never got my official "highest" weight. But every time he says "oh you lost x amount of pounds" I correct him and say "well actually it's that plus four". I still wish I could get an accurate reading. It's sooo depressing being in ONEderland at home but knowing I can't really Celebrate that because I could be anywhere up to 13 pounds heavier than that. -

and certainly no one is refusing to recognize anyone's civil rights! Come to my job for one day, observe my two bosses and their little baby, and listen to their story of how they can't get married and have NO rights married people have such as: Assumption of Spouse’s Pension Automatic Inheritance Automatic Housing Lease Transfer Bereavement Leave Burial Determination Child Custody Crime Victim’s Recovery Benefits Divorce Protections Domestic Violence Protection Exemption from Property Tax on Partner’s Death Immunity from Testifying Against Spouse Insurance Breaks Joint Adoption and Foster Care Joint Bankruptcy Joint Parenting (Insurance Coverage, School Records) Medical Decisions on Behalf of Partner Certain Property Rights Reduced Rate Memberships Sick Leave to Care for Partner Visitation of Partner’s Children Visitation of Partner in Hospital or Prison Wrongful Death (Loss of Consort) Benefits And you come here and you really get to know them, and then you look them and their baby in the face and tell them their civil rights aren't being violated. -
I eat tons and tons of spicy food (well, not "tons" but you get the idea) and I drink a minimum of two glasses of wine every single day. I've lost 83 pounds in one year. I've found that most people who speak out against the band are simply trying to sell a different surgery. Everything is a sales pitch these days!

Can someone talk to me about Lap-band?
Sunta replied to ATRAVOLTA's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I felt the exact same way as you! The risk of death from this surgery is similar to the risk of simply having surgery itself and is comparable to routine gall bladder removal and hernia repair surgery. It is scary, but the rewards are worth the relatively small risk. -
I rountinely eat about a cup of food per meal, and have since I was banded. I have lost 82 pounds so far.

Bandster support for us Heathens/Pagans
Sunta replied to synicalchick's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi! Thanks for starting this thread! I am not any of the above, I don't think, but when I did an online test for "which faith are you"? I came out most close to "neopaganism". So although I don't practice anything in particular, I guess I could be called that. I really just believe in a higher power is all. I have been getting really, really tired of certain Christians on this board shoving their religion down other's throats and it bothers me alot when they sign all of their posts with things about "the Lord". It's annoying. So I added a signature line about the Flying Spaghetti Monster to my post to kind of counter those religious signatures, and people don't even get that it's a spoof! -
Kitty litter cake is soooo delicious but it's too easy to eat! All that pudding makes it slide down alarmingly smoothly! LOL!

Have they found the Boxes Jesus was buried in?
Sunta replied to Tired_Old_Man's topic in Rants & Raves
I've been reading everything I can about the upcoming documentary and am very excited to see it. I go back and forth between thinking there is a possibility that there was a historical Jesus, (a regular person around whom mythology grew) and thinking he did not ever exist at all. If this tomb pans out it would be fascinating, and would make me even more interested in how the folklore turned into what it is today. Then too, it's always amusing to watch bible devotees conveniently dismiss things like this as "Satan's deception". It's a brilliant strategy, really, to build-in a failsafe against anything that would even question Christian ideas. I have to hand it to the church founders on that one. It's a great way to ensure that any proof offered that Christianity being a load of bunk is dismissed immediately. I am currently reading a great book "The Christ Conspiracy: The Greatest Story Ever Sold". I recommend it to anyone interested in Christianity. It explores the indentical nature of the Jesus myth and other, earlier dieties. I'm interested as to how the author would respond to this new finding. Wow, I can't wait to see the show!:nervous -
People should be able to write whatever they want on their cars without being stoned, beaten, or shot. That is why we live in the United States. It's called freedom of speech. No one "deserves" to be physically attacked for anything that is written on their car.
