What makes you think they are gay????? I have 100% perfect gaydar and have never been wrong in almost 20 years of identifying my fellow peeps. And so what if they are?? Well as I mentioned I feel bad for them because they feel they have to hide their true orientation, as I am sure Sanjaya will and Clay is actively doing. It's alot of pressure already being a performer in the public eye, but then to have to hide their true selves while at the same time attempting to dodge all the "rumors" (which are actually truths) must be very very difficult.
-
Sanjaya is soooo Gay. He's going to have a really hard time ahead of him if he wins. I feel so bad for the Gay performers like Clay Aiken and others who feel they have to hide their identities.

I'm glad he's ok, and I would like to add that my niece drank an entire bottle of children's Tylenol when she was three and her liver also shut down. Thank God she recovered after a week in the hospital and being seen by a specialist who had to be flown in... I think they should not make children's medicines so delicious that kids want to eat/drink it. Medicine should be like it was when I was a kid: disgusting. I think it's an example of the over-pampering children get in our society these days. Everything has to cater to them so much that medicine is made so delicious that they eat a whole bottle of it.

Well, that's because you're looking for something, when in fact, I responded to your first post before I read the whole entire thread. Is it okay if I posted to your original post? Sure, but before you go and start calling people vicious, it would be preferable to take a little more time and think about their intent. Obviously my post was tremendously exaggerated and sarcastic. Like I said if you are not one of the war-mongering Christians to whom I'm referring, then you have no cause to be offended. I am sick and tired of the right wing unfairly focusing on a slim minority of people within a group. I'm oh so ready to give it back as good as they give it. They're going to call Gay people child molesters and monsters? Fine, then I'm going to call them bloodthirsty evildoers. If they want to be childish about it maybe they need a childish counterpart. if I made a Website the equivilent of Michael Savage's Website, but against right wing conservatives, I'd probably be shot dead. I think that "SOME" (NOT ALL) right wing Christians would be truly motivated to do that. But despite that, I think the world needs a left wing version of Anne Coulter, Michael Savage, and all the other numerous crazy conservative "journalists". Why not? In my life I'm a super balanced person, have friends from ALL backgrounds, and realize that there are no stereotypes, and that within each group of people (Christians, Muslims, Gays, Liberals, Republicans etc etc etc) there are bad people and there are splendid people. But I think it's high time for a crazy wack job the equivalent of them to get themselves on the radio and start ranting about the rapist Christian soldiers in Iraq who mutilate little kids and then laugh about it. And post pictures of the aftermath of that, and post news stories about "Christians" who go and shoot up a schoolhouse, or murder their girlfriend's parents in cold blood and who bomb abortion clinics. Maybe I would get lots of fans who think "Wow, you know, she has some really good points!" But the enemies I would make would scare me too much, so I'll have to think about it long and hard before I do it.

No. I just post cause I don't want to be left out. lol. Hilarious. Well if you took the time to read my posts instead of slanting them to look a certain way by misquoting me, you'd see I clearly said numerous times that I "definitely do not think that all Christians are bloodthirsty" and that "I was exaggerating on purpose to prove a point." However, your manipulation of my words is very typical of the type of "Christian" behavior I think is hypocritical.
-
And ALL Christians are NOT bloodthirsty, but it sure does seem a vicious thing to say. I'm sorry you feel that way. Hopefully, in time your heart will change. Leatha, seriously, do you even read my posts???
-
Oh come on, your exaggerating now!!! As I stated in my last post, I was purposely exaggerating in order to prove a point. The initial post was about Michael Savage. He says extreme, hateful, unfair, slanted, ignorant things on his radio show and on his Website, yet people "love" him, including many conservative Christians. When I go on and say extreme, unfair, hateful things about the people that "love" his show, people are all up in arms and shocked and disgusted. I think it's really, really hypocritical for anyone to call themselves a Christian and also like Michael Savage. He spews hateful venom all the time, posts slanted views of the war on his Website with NO balance, and is a general asshole. So you know, sometimes I get really sick of people who profess to be "Christian" and yet likes someone who advocates violence against Gays, promotes racism, and looks down on immigrants. I'm tired of the right wing people and their hatred. Yes, my post was exaggerated. I realize that most Christians are decent, kind people. However there ARE some who ARE radical, bloodthirsty, and who do get off on violence. It's a fact. So if you're not one of those people, you don't have cause to be offended by my post, because it was focusing on those "Christians" who fit the description of lunatic, hateful war mongers.

Sunta, although I don't agree with you politically, I usually think your posts are well thought out.... but this post totally disgusts me and I can't believe you could write such a terrible thing. I won't even address the Michael Savage issue, because unless you know for a fact that his audience is mostly Christian, which I don't believe it is, your argument there is simply mean-spirited and unfair. And if you really understood Christianity you would judge the message, not some of the flawed people within it. Christians are taught to love, respect and serve. Some don't do as they are taught. You will find those people within all religions, and in people with no religion. To call "many" Christians "bloodthirsty" because they liked the movie "Passion of the Christ" is to not understand that Christians are moved by Christ's suffering that he underwent for us all. It reminded us how much we owe to Him. To imply that we get off on watching torture and blood is just so far off the scale that I can't believe it came from someone on LBT. Your apparent hatred of some groups of people seems just so beneath you. I'm sorry that this sounds harsh, but I am sort of in shock at this. Obviously my post had a satirical slant. Sorry it was lost on you. I definitely do not think "all" Christians are bloodthirsty. Like you said there are bad people of every religion. I was exaggerating in order to prove a point. I wish Michael Savage could say his hateful, mean-spirited, unfair, and shocking rants are satirical too, but no such luck.
-
I think the reason why many Christians like Michael Savage is because they love all the bloodthirsty violence and nastiness. I went to his Website and I noticed that he has lots of videos and pictures of killings, beheadings, and torture of Americans with the caption "show this to your liberal friends!" There are many Christians that just LOVE that stuff... just look at how excited and stimulated they got over "Passion of the Christ" which was totally disgusting. The funny thing is... I could post a Webpage with 1000 times more pictures of innocent Iraqi children and citizens BURNED, MUTILATED, TORTURED, and KILLED by Americans and put the caption "Show this to your conservative friends!" Hey! Maybe because of their blood lust, I could win some Christian converts over to the liberal side!!! Surely, video and images of little Iraqi girls with their legs blown off are even more enticing than video of adult men being beheaded right? If our news showed the real images of what is going on in Iraq, the war would end tomorrow.

Hi TOM, Firstly, I am very sorry to hear about your health concern. Is Demyelination considered to be MS? Or just a similar condition? My uncle has MS and has had it for many many years and just now they are coming out with new treatments and medicines that are helping him considerably. One thing to keep in mind is that every single day, medical science progresses, so a medicine that's not available today might well be available tomorrow. Also don't overlook clinical trials; many people I know have been helped by them. I'm sure you'll keep us all posted on updates and we're all wishing you the best. Regarding your wife's birthday, my experience has told me thus: Whenever someone says "I don't want a fuss over my birthday"... they never really mean it. They might even think they mean it, they might even have convinced themselves they mean it. But deep down, no one does not want a fuss made over them. It's human nature to want attention, affection, friendship, and love, all of which are the very essence of birthday celebrations. So whenever someone says they don't want a fuss made over their birthday I just go ahead and do it anyway. It's always turned out fantastic. Here's an idea I used for my husband's 30th, when he was swearing up and and down, right and left, he didn't want ANYTHING done for his birthday. It might be the perfect solution for Tina. I contacted every person my husband knew in the whole world, and via email or phone, told them his 30th birthday was coming up and that I was going to throw him a "virtual" birthday party. I had everyone email, call, send a gift, or something, on his birthday. It was mostly emails. He was flooded with like 50 emails, some from people he hadn't heard from in years. He was absolutely thrilled and delighted and he still talks about it to this day. In order to do it, I had to contact people who didn't even know me, and get email addresses/phone numbers for all of his friends and co-workers. I do have some more suggestions but must run out right this moment. I will write again later tonight or tomorrow. Take care!!!

I can eat everything except fast food, scrambled eggs, and hot dogs. These are the ONLY foods which have given me PB problems numerous times. Otherwise, I can eat everything and anything!

Well as I go through life, I find that there are just fewer and fewer quality people in the world. People have mental problems, people are insecure, people are crazy. Here are my instances of friends leaving my life by choice (I'm convinced both were related to their severe mental problems; I seem to attract the crazy people): Case study #1: A relative of mine. She's always been quite strange/shy/paranoid in general. For example she's 40 and has never once had a boyfriend even though she claims she desperately wants one and swears she's not Gay. She dated a guy once and he broke up with her after like two months. Other men she's dated from Eharmony and Yahoo personals often would leave right in the middle of their date! She has always been very paranoid that "people don't like her" and "are talking about her behind her back." She's had numerous friends break up with her too. We had one discussion one day where I expressed mild frustration over a relative of ours, and from that day on, she (my cousin) never spoke to me again. She later told another cousin that I "screamed at her" and she's "scared" to talk to me. I in fact never screamed at her, not even close! I've written her emails but no response. She didn't even call me after my LAP Band surgery. We haven't spoken in over a year. I just chalk it up to her having arrested development, extreme immaturity, and mental issues. Case study #2: My friend from college. He came to my house one weekend and exhibited paranoid and bizarre behavior. I found out that same weekend he was on some drug "his roommate made in the microwave". He was disoriented and didn't seem to know where he was, and at the end of the weekend stormed off in a rage because he insisted I had "taken him to a place other than Philadelphia" (in fact, we were in Philadelphia at a diner!). He took a bus back to New York and I never heard from him again. I later heard through a mutual friend that he said I was using the word "crazy" too many times duiring the weekend and that he thought I was "making fun of him indirectly." So you can see that these two people were indeed quite challenged in terms of mental stability. Perhaps your friend is going through some kind of similar problem? I have also had instances in my life where I have been the breaker-upper, as in the case of a couple who decided they just "didn't like" my husband. I was mighty quick to say goodbye to them! Depsite all of this trimming of the dead wood so to speak, I have a nice circle of close friends, and several best friends, some of whom have been in my life since grade school. I've come to see I don't need the crazy ones, the paranoid ones, the toxic ones. I know it's painful, but sometimes friends just really need to move on from each other. Think of it as an opportunity to make a brand new, even better friend. My husband and I "replaced" the old couple with a really sweet new couple who we have now been friends with for three years. We're much happier with them and are glad to have time to devote to new friends who are nice instead of jerks. I feel for you. I hope you take comfort in the fact that this is a new opportunity to meet someone nicer, better, and more fun than your old friend. Good luck!

I know how it feels, but take it from the older ladies here; at 20 you have a lifetime of wonderful relationships ahead of you. Think of this as a learning experience and an opportunity. He was 100% NOT the right guy for you. In time you will come to realize you are much, much, much better off apart, and you will look back at your 20 year old self and be so thankful you didn't stay with him! Trust us, it will be ok!!! -
Unfortunately, the majority of Americans would probably think the same thing. My belief is that we are the most uneducated and/or ignorant nation on the planet. Sometimes it's not people's fault, but the fault of a totally unbalanced school system that favors the rich and penalizes the poor. A great book on this topic is "Savage Inequalities" by Kozol. Written over almost 20 years ago, not much has changed since it came out. In fact many teachers and students alike say the situation has deteriorated even further since the book's publication. It exposes the division, especially among racial lines, in America's schools. Issues raised include the inability of school districts to afford textbooks for every student, overcrowding, violence, poor teacher quality due to low pay, etc. Of course, people who went to the best schools can also be ignorant of many things. I think it's a general lack of interest in education and reading that permeates our culture. Many people just don't care about learning these days, it seems, and have no intellectual curiosity at all.

Oh and I forgot to say that the logic in this article is equivalent to this: A Christian person is a member of the KKK and thinks Black people should still be slaves. After he gets into office he makes his opinion known. He cites the bible as the source that tells him slavery is acceptable (it does say that in the bible, does it not?) An outcry rises against him, and those who cry out against him are BIGOTS and are practicing acceptable bigotry! RIGHT???
-
This article is rediculous. Acceptable bigotry? Please, cut me a break!!! Oh yes, the poor little shrinking violet Christian right, SO downtrodden and abused! BOO HOO! Gays should NOT defend themselves against people who say being Gay is immoral, because it's BIGOTRY if they do defend themselves! Gays should remain silent and NOT defend themselves and NOT speak out against an elected official who DENIGRATES them and speaks out against them and DEFAMES them! Because it's bigotry! OH how I wring my hands and weep for the poor, persecuted Christians! Please can we cut through this NONSENSICAL BULLSHIT?!?!?!?!? Of course Gays are going to speak out and defend themselves! Of course they're not going to put up with being DEFAMED by a public official! Of course they're not going to vote for that person! Obviously that person has an AGENDA that is going to be reflected in their policy-making, or otherwise they wouldn't bother to DENIGRATE gay people!!! Honestly, sometimes I wonder about the sanity of the Christian right, I really do.

Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?
Sunta replied to paladin's topic in Rants & Raves
Wow! This is so different from where I live. Up here the church is not welcome in the affairs of the state. Well, Green, it's not supposed to be this way in United States either. I'm so depressed I am thinking of moving up your way. I can't take this bullshit here any more. -
Why Liberals are Right to Hate the Ten Commandments
Sunta replied to leatha_g's topic in Rants & Raves
I'm liberal and I don't hate the 10 Commandments. In fact, I live by a majority of them. I don't want them in my government offices or any other public spaces though, because we don't live in a theocracy. I would not want any religious doctrine in any public place or government office. Somtimes simple concepts escape the simple minded. -

SOTC thread...Why NOT to post when your angry
Sunta replied to nursekathy2u's topic in Rants & Raves
Oh man! I don't come on for a few days and the fireworks fly??? What'd I miss? Personally I find it very condescending when people say "I'll pray for you" because it just sounds so insincere. That being said, I wouldn't tell someone "don't say this or that" because of my strong belief in freedom of speech. Everyone has the right to say what they want to say, even if I don't like it, and that includes saying they'll pray for me OR God-bashing or whatever. That is a benefit of living in America. But I agree with the fact that when people say "I'll pray for you" it's very, very annoying. -

I fail to see how dressing as woman (even if it were true) would have anything to do with their ability to run the country. -
Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?
Sunta replied to paladin's topic in Rants & Raves
So far, has anyone said that they are a homosexual liberal atheist??? The thread starter seemed to think that lots of people fitting that description were posting here, yet I've yet to see one. Oh, where oh where are the homosexual liberal atheists? -
Once again, why is it always the zealots who end up being exposed as the true sex addicts/child molesters/drug abusers, etc? I suspect every person who acts, in public, like Gingrich, Haggart, Bakker, etc. of being a secret freakazoid.

Sunta, If it's an essay you want with proper grammar, just let me know the title and we'll go for it. This is a forum, not a classroom. God, deal with yourself please. Ok, the title will be "The Accidental Occurance of Irony In My Previous Post"

God, you're an basket case. I dont never say anything about you but you are just unrelenting. Okay, you think I"m an idiot. Let's just paste our diploma's here shall we. Let's just see who the idiot is. I would bet you anything you could afford to wager that my degree's sweetie far extend yours. Just retire and quit being so mouthy, you really get on my nerves. And no, I wouldn't leave this site until hell freezes over. There sweetcakes. Let me know when you'd like to compare degrees since your the one calling me stupid. I just bet you want, time will tell. It's funny when one writes a narrative describing their superior intelligence and the narrative itself is full of grammatical, punctuation, and structural errors.
