I'm glad Ace is gone, but I would be even gladder is it had been Kellie. She is REALLY getting on my nerves!! How she avoids the bottom three even is one of life's great mysteries!! I was SO hoping she'd go. Next week should be good. Emily

I"m so sorry you're having this scary thing happen! You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. I agree that calling to see if you can get it done sooner would be a good idea, and I've had good luck with cancellation lists, too. I also have had abnormal paps and had it turn out to be nothing, so try not to panic. I know that's easy for us to say Emily

My scale isn't moving much right now, so I'm really looking for NSVs. I went with my son to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, yesterday (a couple of hours from where we live). If you've ever been there, they have miles (OK, blocks and blocks) of subway halls. I've always gotten tired and had to stop and rest on our way to wherever the next appointment was, but yesterday I didn't at all! Yay! My son even mentioned it and was thrilled for me. So I feel great even if the scale is being stubborn! Emily

Is Byetta the drug that comes from gila monsters? My sister's PCP suggested she try it but she decided not to because of some of the side effects. She's scheduled for banding May 3. Emily

Isn't it amazing the things that get us excited on this journey?! Congratulations...I'm sure it felt great! Emily

Congratulations on getting your date!! The time will go quickly and you'll be in bandland before you know it. Emily

I have had it in the past and it went away for a couple of years...now I have it again and it does make walking for exercise difficult. I even wear thin rigid arch supports in my slippers as well as my shoes, and that helps immensely. Got mine at Foot Smart for $15 or so. Emily

I would certainly think so...but I'd be sure it's 100% juice and not a cranberry juice cocktail just for the calories/sugar content. When I got to mushies, I bought cranberry capsules and mixed them into applesauce for urinary tract problems. Emily

Feeling hopeless and like a failure
gentlespirit replied to rpaniagua77's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You are NOT A FAILURE! 40 pounds is a lot, and you've done great. If your doctor said the weight would just fall off, he misled you. It's still hard work, and the band is just a tool, not a miracle. Keep plugging away and trying to make good choices. If you mess up today, start again tomorrow determined to do better. You can do this! Emily -
Katharine's voice was really great, but she did seem kind of posed or studied...not spontaneous at all. If I listened to her with my eyes closed, I loved it! Kellie was awful and SO needs to go. Maybe this will be our lucky night and she'll get the boot. We can always hope. Emily

I noticed the vegetarian one was missing, too, but I thought maybe I just couldn't find it again. I was really enjoying that, too. I did post the seitan recipe someone asked about, so maybe that will get it going again... Emily

These are wonderfulL! I haven't laughed so hard in ages. My sister is getting her band on May 3, so I have to share these with her!! Emily

Congratulations!!! The car is great, but the way this has changed your life is even more special. You are amazing, and you sohuld be SO proud of yourself! Emily

Congratulations! You guys give me hope that I'll be joining you before too long! Way to go!! Emily

I really like Elliot...he isn't gorgeous, but he seems like a genuinely nice guy and can certainly sing. I can't even imagine why Kellie and Ace are still on...they can't leave soon enough for me! Emily

Jen~ Thanks for posting that question. I'm 3 months out and am still learning to eat slowly...I need to improve in that respect. I haven't PBd or anything, although I know eventually it's bound to happen) and I do well with the chewing, but I need to put the fork down between bites. I needed the reminder. Have a great Easter weekend, everyone! Emily

You look gorgeous! Congratulations!! Emily -
Diane~ You look amazing! Congratulations!! I can't wait to be able to see that kind of difference. Emily

I have to tell you ladies that I'm really glad my sons are 25 and 27...but I'm laughing as I read this!! I can't even remember how we did the training thing, but I think it involved M & Ms...I was never above a little bribery! It DOES happen eventually, but it doesn't seem like it when you're in the middle of it, does it? Keep on keeping on...you have my sympathy! Emily

That's such an inspiration...don't you love the NSVs?!! You look fantastic! And the jacket is really cute. Emily

I have read here from a lot of people that many bandsters don't get restriction until the second (or more) fill. And that it can take several days or even a couple of weeks for the restriction to kick in after a fill. So don't freak out yet...give it a little time. I felt absolutely no change after my first fill but just got my second one this week and can feel quite a difference. It'll come eventually. You're in this for the long haul, but I know how impatient we get to see some changes! It will come...just TRY to be patient Emily
-
So sorry you had to go through that! Surgery will be a piece of cake compared to that...I'm so thankful for general anesthesia! You won't know a thing and will just wake up and it'll all be over. Emily

I personally think it's the carbonation, too. My diet Coke was so hard to give up! But I haven't had any soda for 3 months now, so I think I'll survive. You will, too, even though it sometimes doesn't feel like it Hang tight and it will get better, I promise. Emily

The first 6 weeks aren't about losing weight...they are about healing. I keep hearing from everyone that any weight loss prior to a fill is a bonus. And you have a few weeks to go before you get a fill, so don't worry. Just try to eat your Protein and veggies and let your body recuperate. It will come! Emily

I'm taking Lexapro and Wellbutrin for depression but didn't have any issues post surgery. I think we all go through a period of mourning for our "good friend" food. This is a major lifestyle change, and change is scary, even when it's something we want so much. Emily
