BBK I feel your pain, I have been bouncing between light insomnia and full out insomnia for the last month. Light being wake up look at the clock go back to sleep. Full out, well you know the feeling, sleep?? HAH! Not happening. I know what is causing mine, but since the cause can't help me right now (being as he is a few thousand miles away in the desert) I wont take sleeping pills because of my kids, to paranoid something might happen to them. You should try Celestial Seasons SleepyTime tea it has been a life saver for me. It has really helped me fall asleep, staying asleep well it is still a work in progress, and it doesn't give you the punch drunk feeling sleeping pills give. Just makes you nice and drowsy.

Your post op surgical packet should have that information in it as to when it is ok to go from "washing up" to showering/baths. When I had my last surgery (it was laproscopic) I was able to shower about a week out. You need to let the incisions close a bit more before you hop in there and get all wet and lathery.

Hun, call the school and tell them that if they don't let the kids know that it is unacceptable you will start calling the police for trespass and vandalizing. Give the school and parents a chance to correct it, if it still continues well then, become their worst nightmare. I would. But then again I am mean like that.

I went to them ONCE, I will never go back. VS isn't about helping you find what is right its about selling you product. After my fitting she was running around trying to find the most expensive items she had to sell me. Now maybe it was just that particular store I don't know. But I love Macy's for my fittings. The ladies there are great, they don't try to sell you product they help you choose what would be best for you. So happened that what I wanted was what was on sale and she was happy as a clam that I was able to get 6 for the price I was expecting to pay for just 2 or 3.

I swear by getting fitted twice a month once a year. Once during my "off" times and once during my "on" times. I haven't done it in a while but I will probably go back soon to get it done. The reason I get fitted twice is because you breasts will change each month, sometimes its just a little bit sometimes ... WHAMO you got cleavage you never knew you had. Also some women shouldn't wear certain bra's while others are just perfect for them.

Trying to create my own pre op diet. My surgeon is still relatively new in the lap band procedure, but I have trust in him and his team. Anyways, he still doesn't really have a pre op diet for his patients. I want to be prepared that way the "sudden" liquid stage doesn't shock me into submission and make me cry (ROFL). So far the only slim fast drink that doesn't make me want to gag is the Slim-Fast Optima Strawberries and cream. The vanilla and chocolate *shudders* yeah .. lets not go there .... I have been incorporating more and more Soups. Granted not full liquid broth type soups (stews and such) but since I am still "date free" (damnit) I figure one meal being liquid is a good start. I have looked over the recipe thread and snatched a few already. But it just seems hard to start this myself from scratch. Called the nutrition clinic in the hospital and they said "oh no, if your doctor didn't require it then it is not recommended to do this to yourself prior to surgery" so no help from that angle. I am seriously to the point of doing a 2/3 liquid diet and some sort of protein/veggie (dropping the starch's) until surgery but with out more options I just don't know what to do and the stinking hospital nutrition clinic isn't any help. *sigh* I guess what that ramble is saying, any ideas on how to get this going m'self??? Already down to the drinks (like I said the strawberry is yummy!) in the AM it is just trying to find something else for lunch and stuff. dinner will prolly be switched to a super health thing (can hear the kids whining now).

I figured it out .. I need a movie screen with either Trace Adkins or Toby Keith running backwards saying Come and get me baby .... Yup.. I would run my heart out tryin to catch em ...

Issues .... lots of issues with ...
Pix replied to Pix's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I am also counting in the fact I have a stubborn streak a mile wide and while for the most part it can be beneficial to me, I am just afraid that if my mind and body aren't on a liquid diet together that I will hurt myself after its all said and done and go off and cheat. SO for me I "have" to do this or I will be my own worst enemy (maybe its a 50/50 shot I don't' want to take ya know?) Make sense? -
Actually they aren't that bad. You have to really look for mine. I had the traditional "key whole with areola placement" ... It has been almost 15 years and it is great. After two kids though, I am looking into getting a lift after I get to goal .. LOL

Sadly as my weight has gone up and down down and up .. my boobs have remained the same. Only time I lost anything in the boobs was when the plastic surgeon took me from a III to a C/D and lifted them back up where they belonged. My weight has yo-yo'd so much since then with kids and weight gain I expected them to grow .. they didn't .. so for me, I don't think loosing this weight will matter much in the end. I think they will remain the same. Will loose band size but that is really about it I think.

Psych eval was a joke, she passed me easy as can be ... only paperwork I had to fill out was insurance stuff. She asked me a series of questions, had me count backwards from 100 by 7's. Dunno why but .. *shrugs* I passed, calling my coordinator now to make my one on one with the surgeon!! YAY!
-
I just realized after thinking back .. I totally messed up the counting backwards things .. got the first few numbers right ... then it was down hill in a messy way from there ... LOL I think she was just happy I didn't give up >..... ROFL ... Man I feel math retarded now .... time to break out my trig book to refresh my brain ....

Bulging and pain - Help!!
Pix replied to shrinking__v's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok, what my doctor always tells me "Better to be paranoid and fine, then not do anything at all and die" Call your surgeons office!! (Forgot to mention, my PCP has a very morbid sense of humor, we get along great) -
How is your restriction with no fill? Sounds like the doc got the band in just the right spot and you might not need a fill. Just my optimistic .02 nothing more nothing less
-
Mine wasn't long at all. I filled out the insurance paperwork, and that was it. I was head shrunk to make sure I could handle the changes necessary to the surgery and to make sure I am seated in reality. I pretend well in front of others .. ROFL

So, not only am I sane, but BUT BUT BUT I have my one on one with the surgeon in 14 days!!!!!! I get my surgery date then!!! I am sooo not a patient person .. I really hope these two weeks fly by

how to fade scars and stretchmarks
Pix replied to jbcohenpa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds goofy, but my aunty put me on to this a long time ago. Extra Virgin Olive oil. Then my tattoo artist told me about it (he is a retired RN) too!! It is goofy but it works, all of my past surgical scars are gone. Well except the belly button scar. Can't get that to poof for nothin. Maybe after I loose all this weight they will give me a TT and build me a new belly button  -
*hugs* sorry your day is starting off bad, but what always puts me right is some good music!! For me lately it has been Toby Keith, Trace Adkins, and Chris Ledoux. Great upbeat music enough to dance too. And that is what I do, gets me moving and moving makes me feel better!! I hope things go better for you sweety

If you are serious about the 'ring' or a diaphragm you need to have them rechecked if you loose weight!!!! Your insides will change and shift with you as you loose/gain weight and they will become less affective. You might want to look into the IUD (the new one has rave reviews I hear) or the BC patch. Talk things over with your gyno, inform him/her that you are getting banded and will be loosing quite a bit of weight and you want birth control that will go with you through it all not one you have to worry about. The other thing with BC pills is they do cause some (it is minimal) weight gain, so again you might want to look into a internal device. Again, I reiterate, TALK to your doctor explain what is going on with you, see what he/she recommends for you as you loose weight and your body starts changing.

They wanted to take my oldest cause he was underweight. They didn't bother with family history or nothing. So, the doctor ran tests to check his levels (guess to see if he was malnourished?) and found he was "pefect" then the doctor sat down and got a family history from me. For the first time since my scrawny bean pole was born. I am the anomaly in my family of tall lanky skinny people. My hubbies family is the same way, tall skinny, the lot of them. (Talk about feeling out of place at family reunions!!) The doc told the CPS worker (she was with us for the whole thing) that she was being stupid (his words too) and that if she followed through in this he would back me up in a civil suit. Yeah, I still have my scrawny bean pole of a son, and another one just like him. Wish the skinny gene hadn't skipped me .... *sigh*

Well she did tell me she gave the guys with the white coats the day off so I was lucky .... Maybe I am not sane, and she was to scared to tell me
