    Hernia

I am one day post-op from hiatal hernia and band repositioning. I feel pretty good. I walked off all the gas pain yesterday and today I just ache a little bit. The only "pain" is when I take a deep breath which is more just soreness achiness. I haven't had to take any pain meds, so I am happy. Hate the way they make me feel.
  2. Sitting in the waiting room for my hiatal hernia and band repositioning surgery. I feel good and am not nervous at all. Thought the nerves would kick in this morning... but nope. I am excited because I made my weightless goal for surgery. I started at 331 the last week in March when I had my consult. This morning I weighed in at 305!!! I wanted to lose 20 by surgery, but adjusted that goal when I passed it. Lol. 26 pounds down... with no restriction... I am very happy. See y'all on the other side... again.

    Surgery Day!!!!!

Hope it goes well for you too!!
  4. I had mine removed about 7 months after banding. It was a lot more painful than my Lapband surgery. I was on pain meds for about 2 days and it took about a week until I was ready to go back to work.
  5. Congrats!!! I know how exciting that must be. I am soooo close myself. Way to work your tush off to get ready.

I Fell Of The Band Wagon

I am sorry you are having a hard time. You mentioned that you are not motivated... does that mean you are not following the band rules.. exercising? What are you eating? Do you feel like you have restriction?

    2 Weeks Post Op Weightloss

Girl you are only two weeks out and you have lost 10 pounds. That is great! I think it is a little early to be freaking out it won't work for you. You still haven't gotten any fills. You have a while before you feel restriction and can work your band. Take it one day at a time. Focus on healing right now. Hang in there.

    Amazing!! Congrats.
  11. Depending on your morning restriction... I like Southwestern Egg Beaters with some Jimmy Dean Turkey crumbles mixed in. Add in some fresh spinach and a little cheese. Super packed with Protein and nutrients. I actually had it for dinner tonight since my family was eating deep fried flounder (yuuuummmmmy) and as much as I love flounder... it was not a healthy choice for me. Having quick fixes like that in the fridge gave me an option to make something band friendly for me while my family could still enjoy their meal. I always keep cottage cheese, Greek Yougurt, string cheese, and almonds around. If your arsenol is ready... you will be set up for success!! And yes... this forum is great. Keeps me motivated, focused, and the support is comforting!

Fainting And Spasms After Lapband Surgery

I am sorry you are having such a rough time right now. That sounds scary... the issues with the vagus nerve. I hope things turn around for you. Have you tried counseling for the food issues? Perhaps some counseling paired with the band will be a good combination for you.
  13. Ugh. Ice cream is my kryptonite. Seriously is. Totally responsible for most of my regain. I just have to eliminate it from my diet. I have to treat it like an alcoholic treats alcohol. Evil evil stuff! I haven't had it in weeks. Not while I am back on track. Have to keep it away.
  14. You got some great advice. I couldn't agree more about planning meals!! That has helped me get back on track. Hubby and I stopped eating out and we plan our meals the day before... sometimes we plan out a few days in advance. I never want to find myself in the position where I don't know what I am going to eat so I grab something fast and unhealthy. Cooking healthy doesn't have to take tons of time. Scallops literally take a few minutes to cook. Serve with a side of quinoa or asparagus. Baking fish is quick and healthy. Once you get a few favorite quick recipes in your recipe box... you should be golden!

    Have You Gone Back???

I love Chick too! I just discovered the grilled nuggets 2 weeks ago and was so excited to have a healthy option. The 4 piece grilled nugget is the perfect size!!! I don't really get fast food much... if at all anymore. It is too hard to find healthy alternatives on the menu.

    Hernia

Y'all are freaking me out!! lol. I am having my hiatal hernia fixed on Monday. I hope the pain isn't too bad. My original banding wasn't bad for me at all... galbladder was horrible... I was hoping this would fall closer to the "not bad at all" side of the scale.

What Did You Eat For The Fourth?

Wow... some of you guys eat barely anything at all! I had a really good day and resisted all the yummy temptations at my BBQ. We had Cookies, potato salad, macaroni salad, pulled pork... so much sugar and carbs. Ack! My Day: B: Protein shake L: 1/2 burger (sans bun) w/ pepperjack cheese & side strawberry spinach salad D: leftover from BBQ... only difference was I had a full burger instead of a half And the cookies and chips are all sitting on my countertop mocking me right now. Evil evil. Lol.

Band Slipped. Decided To Have It Fixed

Mine hasn't slipped... but I am having it re-positioned on Monday due to a hiatal hernia. At first I contemplated having it removed since I had already repaired it one due to a leak. I am self pay also. Well... I kinda freaked at the thought of losing my band. I decided to buckle down and start following the band rules again. I have lost 25 pounds in the last 3 months and feel great. I am hoping by fixing it again, I will continue to do well, hopefully even better!! It is a hard decision. Especially for a self pay patient. I think if you have done well... you will do well again. Good luck with your surgery!
