    Help Me With My List?

I love your list! I think it is a great idea!!! I plan on making one now. I also work in law enforcement and look forward to looking better in my uniform. Plus being able to crawl, squat, and climb through crime scenes easier is a plus!!!

    Oopps!!

I drink out of straws all the time. I was never told to avoid them by my doctor. It doesn't cause me any discomfort.
  3. I have the same issue. Protein drink for breakfast. lunch is difficult. dinner I feel wide open. Head hunger is horrible at night and I reach for sliders to fill the urge when I am weak. I am losing weight though, because I am really trying to stick to the band rules. I will swim when I get the urge to overeat and that has helped. I don't always win the battle... but more often than not I do. I am hoping a fix of a hiatal hernia will fix some of those issues.

Fainting And Spasms After Lapband Surgery

Have you considered consulting with a different bariatric surgeon. If your surgeon refuses to believe it could be band related, and you feel it is, find someone who will listen. I am so sorry you are going through this!! I hope someone can figure out what it is and that uou feel better soon!!
  5. I drink right up until I eat. It passes through rather quickly. You should be able to feel it drain through if liquid is cold. You won't have a problem drinking. Trust me. I like to drink a lot of fluids too and I have no issues.

    1000 Jumping Jacks A Week!

You do 10 reps of 100 each day? So 1000 a day... not a week? Or am I reading it wrong? Congrats on the .8! I am going to try this.

    Sex

Um. If you don't want to, don't. Why would you have sex with someone you don't want to. And why ask us? It is your body, your life. do or don't do what you want.

    Leak In My Band

Well I was VERY tender and sore where the port was replaced. Honestly more sore than I remembered from initial surgery. I am assuming it was because they removed the old and restitched to same muscle. Luckily my surgeon went through the same port incision so I don't have any additional scars!! But after Lapband, gallbladder, and my upcoming surgery... I have so many holes in my abdomen I wouldn't notice!! Lol. You will do fine!!!
  9. I would ask if he primed your band during surgery (added fill). If he did, you may not be able to tolerate. I would have it removed until swelling goes down from surgery. If you have no fill, and can't keep liquids down, that is a problem. By "food" I am assuming you mean liquids since you are only a few days post op. I would call your surgeon again. You need to be hydrated!!

Fainting And Spasms After Lapband Surgery

Yes. I have read about people having issues with the vagus nerve and the Lapband. I really hope that is not what is happening. I would be concerned about long term damage if it is the vagus nerve. Did you ask your Lapband surgeon specifically his thoughts on whether or not it might be related to pressure the band is putting on the vagus nerve? Google "vagus nerve Lapband". I hope the medications help. Listen to your body. If it feels off.. get someone to listen to you!!

    Protein Shakes

I am too tight to eat breakfast. Plus I am NOT a morning person. So I won't get up a half hour earlier to make eggs that I might not be able to get down. Lol. So I drink a Protein drink for breakfast on my way to work. Around 9 or 10 I have a snack of fruit or Greek yogurt that holds me until lunch. I don't think there is anything wrong with Protein drinks as a supplement or for breakfast. Just keep them low in calories, carbs, and sugar.

    I Suck!

Ate so well... all day. Then after a very healthy band sized dinner... I got fixated on a hot dog. I struggled with head hunger for over an hour. Then I gave in. Grrrrr. And I ate two hot dogs, sans bread. And then I wanted something sweet. And I went to the pantry and found the only sweet thing in my entire house. chocolate frosting. And I gave in again and had several spoonfuls. I suck. I am so disappointed in myself. Arrrghhh. I know tomorrow is a new day. But it really makes me angry when I cave to the head hunger. I have been giving myself pep talks all day today to be strong tonight. Nighttime is hard for me. I hate the power food has over my life!! I want my power back.

    I Suck!

Littlefoot... Thanks for the pep talk. Sorry you are struggling right now too. Hang in there!! It honestly does get easier the further out from surgery you get.

    Tucson people?

I am self-pay. Monash charges $50 for office visit w/o a fill and $100 for an office visit w/fill. Swartz and Monash used to be partners (or were in the same office) until Swartz switched to TMC. I didn't realize Swartz moved to Phoenix. Monash wanted me to have an upper GI done before taking me on as a patient. Just so he could see where everything was and how the band looked. I am not sure if that is still a requirement of his.

    Panniculectomy??

I would in a heartbeat if insurance covered it! But if it doesn't bother you, that is entirely up to you! Good luck with your decision.
  18. That is awesome. Great job!!! Congrats.

    Hernia Repair During Surgery

I am having a hiatal hernia repaired in a month. My band will be repositioned at that time. I took a week off of work. Do you think that is sufficient? I recovered quickly from my initial surgery... but heard the hernia fix will make it more painful.

Question About How Fast R Slow U Eat

If you eat too fast you risk PB'ing. You need to eat slow and chew well. Think of it like a funnel... the faster you pour water into a funnel the higher risk of it overflowing. Pour it slow and it will all go down eventually.
