I wouldnt think its a huge deal since people fly into mexico to get the surgery and then fly back all the time. maybe do mushies or liquids on your flight days to just be sure to not agitate anything? good luck and where are you going? work or fun? :0)

woohoo good for you!!

Do you guys have second thoughts before surgery?
ThinWithin replied to tcbgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
woohoo you can be a band twin w/me that's my surgery date! I am excited about the process but completely understand where you are coming from. I had the exact conversation w/my husband the other night. I have had my tonsils out, a procedure on my uterus, a d&c and a gallbladder removal all done w/o much panic because they were "have to" not want to. I dont have much to offer really, I have prayed my way through every step and feel like it's what I should be doing. Good luck w/your surgery I can't wait to compare notes on the other side! -
Bunny Bandsters - April '09, MASTER THREAD #1

congrats on the loss ldeere! My husband is really concerned about hydration, I haven't had surgery yet and he is already trying to make sure I am in the habit of constantly drinking. I guess thats a big problem after surgery. Do you just forget or is it uncomfortable to drink? I am so curious to hear details on everything. -
Calling all Bunnies with Band Dates; April 19 - 25, '09!
ThinWithin replied to Band_Groupie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am getting super excited. I was making plans for this weekend and realized it was the last weekend before surgery, somehow it had slipped past me. So far it looks like a busy one. I am having surgery about 75 minutes from my house on tuesday early am so we are going up on monday. We took the kids to my last appt to show them the hospital and the hotel so they wouldnt be surprised. I am eager to get it going, I have been in limbo for so long the thought of having it over and being on the other side is thrilling. -

Good luck, I cannot imagine how frustrating and scary that must be. ((hugs)) -
okay i clarified w/the doctor and it is purees and it's 'loose' purees so i'm guessing it's the same concept as liquids. but EWWWWW doesnt sound so good lol

What Protein Supplement do you Prefer?
ThinWithin replied to WannaBe1/2TheWoman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i am worried about getting in enough protein but also cannot have fake sugars so i'm worried about getting too many carbs in the shakes unless they have an artificial sweetener. got any ideas on how to achieve low carb and real sugar? -
i have a date w/ncis every tuesday night lol i tivo it and after i get the kids in bed I snuggle up in bed w/my tweezer and special agent gibbs ROFL also i use a cream my doc prescribed called vaniqa and i notice a BIG drop in the hair growth but had let my script lapse and stopped using it. I just started doing it again last week and it's already slowing down quite a bit. The only bad thing is it is expensive (like 60/tube) if it isnt on your insurance formulary. hth

I am not sure if this thread already exists someplace and I simply cannot find it. Anyway, I thought it'd be neat to have an introduction thread of sorts. A place to get to know each other a little better! I'll start... Hello :0) I am 34 and have been married for almost 14 yrs (in April) to my very best friend. We have 2 kiddos an almost 8yr old and a 4 1/2 yr old. I have been looking at banding since 2005 and finally all my ducks are in a row and it's happening! woohoo!!! We are a miltary family and I homeschool our children. That's about all I've got for now! Look forward to getting to know you all better as we continue this journey together.

I can see that because I am planning a vacation in late november/early december in anticipation of my impending hotness lol I am working toward practicing patience myself. I have a friend who is banded (but doesnt know i am going to be lol) that actually gained about 20lbs during her post op diet ....that makes me nervous. I have been working really hard to make wise choices and I think that the work will pay off before my band is working full force.

Sorry for my MIA status for a couple days, life got crazy! I am down into the teen days for counting down my sugery. The doctor clarified my diet a little more and starting the 8th I will be on a high protien low carb diet. It isn't liquids but until I hear a definate answer I'm still a little leery that when I go to the preop appt it will change and I'll be on liquids after being glad I wasn't LOL Tuesday is my first preop appt and Wednesday is 14 yr wedding anniversary. A fun week to come! -
Weighed in this morning and am down .6lbs. It makes me so frustrated because it's not more but then I remember what my week included. An emergency trip out of town, about 10 hours in the car driving, 3 dinners out at restaurants, medieval times w/friends, and going to the movies. I also only exercised 1 day. SOOOO when I factor in all that I had going on I am happy to see that it moved in the right direction but still .6 seems like a token not a "real" loss if that makes any sense. How was your week?

congrats on the banding!! way to lead the way!

We went to Disney World in Feb. and had an amazing time. I was aware of my size and spent a few moments in each line wondering if I would fit or if I would not be comfortable or if my babies (7 & 4) would be able to sit with me. It didnt really flavor the vacation all that much because I've been spending so many years of my life doing that. It's sorta like the cursory glance arond the room upon entry to see if you are indeed the biggest one there. Anyway I started thinking about losing weight and got so excited that the next time we go to Disney I'd be smaller. I got so excited about it that I talked to my husband and we decided to go back after Thanksgiving. I typically host a dinner w/30 or so people in attendance and didnt know if I would feel up to cooking this year, so we decided to travel and visit somebody on Thanksgiving and then we'll head down to Orlando. I am SOOOO excited. I booked our hotel and I feel like I have a goal to work towards. What are you doing to reward yourself along the way? When I hit 50lbs gone I am going to get a massage. I think that might repeat every 50 lbs. I have only had one in my life and I really enjoyed it.
