Try No sugar added Carnation Instant Breakfast drinks made with 1 cup skim milk that gives 14 grams protein right there and they taste like choc milk.

I started mushies 4 days after surgery only 2-3 days of full liquid. I also had my post op doc visit on Tues and told her that I have been eating mushies, mostly cream of wheat made with powered and skim milk, and scrambled eggs and fish. But now I really start to feel those hunger pains when its time to eat. The only question she asked me was if I was full after 3oz and I said yes. But to only be eating 3 meals and the rest liquids the rest of the day seems to leave me famished so I still have to substitue protein drinks in between. Which helps but I tend to drink them too fast and get the PB for and hour or so. But to answer your question about regaining when mushie are started. I lost 7.5 pounds the first week after surg and now that I have started mushies I have gained only 1 pound. The others are right about the body adjusting and then you will get back on track with losing. I'll keep you all posted about how thing go this week and let you know. If that helps

HI all, 4th day out and feeling pretty good. Still tender but the gas pains are much better. I weighed this morning and have lost 5 pounds since surg date. My husband says he can really see it in my face and I can feel it in the abdomen. The gas pains were terrible yesterday. Had to force the protein drinks and water down but had to do it. I think that helped to relieve a lot of water retention. Finally on the upswing.!!!

when does the pain/soreness END!!!

Hi all, I'm a whinny baby too. Banded on the 23rd. 3rd day out and feeling better but very light headed at times and keep getting this intermittent pain/discomfort right at that middle incision between the breasts, enough to take my breath away. not sure if it's the band or my heart, but no vomiting YEA! Today I am able to get blended yogurt down no problem. Hating the Protein Drink, but I must say that the unjury brand is pretty good. Anyone else having these weird feelings? Also I have found that lying on your side almost on your stomach with a fluffy pillow takes away the pain for me. Go figure I guess putting slight pressure on it eases it. -
Well todays the BIG day and I'm sooo excited. I was really nervous last night and could hardly get to sleep and of course woke up much earlier than I needed to. Wish me luck!!!:thumbup:

I am new to signing up but not new to the forums. I have bben following them for about a year now and think it's great that there is some place to go for additional info. I hope to have my surgery sometime in the next couple months. Already went to a seminar and have my psych scheduled for next weeks. I am soooooooo happy to see that Tricare is now approved the lapband. I have been following y'alls forums and love to see all the progress everyone has made. It actually brought me to tears when all the Tricare carriers were finally approved. I am so happy for them hopefully I can be approved too. I am right at BMI 40 and right at 100 pounds over so hopefully everythings checks out. Congrats to all that have done so well with their surgeries and great hope for all those who are waiting. :rolleyes2:

14 lbs is great. I'm with you i've never lost that much ever at one try period. And your right the inches are what's important when your working out because muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less space. Your doing wonderful!!! How's the fill doing, are you feeling better? I did go to the nutrition classes. I have to start the Carnation instant breakfast 6xs a day for 8 days on the 18th. Did you have to do CIB? I think it's going to be so hard to do when your used to chewing your food. I've done a liquid cleanse for 3 days but never 8. Should be interesting but it can be done.

2Btiny---how much weight have U lost since being banded? U were banded in early May right? Did your restriction stay pretty good, until you lost how much weight? could U tell right away that your restriction was much lower? I'm just trying to get an idea of what to feel for. Do they have U follow a liquid diet for 24 hours or so after a fill? Hope things get better.

Sorry all, for not posting in awhile. Well, I FINALLY got approved and have gotten my authorization letter. Just waiting for Vandy to call and set up appt. Not sure if it's an appointment for an appointment for surgery or if it's for the actually surg. Tiny how did that work for you through Vandy once you were approved? Wish me luck. I can't believe it's finally gonna happen. My anxiety level is through the roof. I'm excited and scared at the same time. WHOO HOO!!!!! Hi McSteph!! My appts were scheduled like Tinys, no trouble getting them, but they were spread out. I'm having my surgery with Dr. Richards who is head of the depart, so I can only imagine when he will be available. I'm hoping for early July. I started this in Feb and the insurance wasn't the hold up is was all the time stretching from the surgeon. I had to have a sleep study, then a titrate for the CPAP. (which I love, don't know how I lived without it) then I have to wear it for 1 month (which we be up on 6/24) then approval, which took 3 days from Tricare (God Bless them, now that they are accepting Lapband) and here we are. I did however have trouble with communication. I had to do the calling to Vandy to keep up and see what was happening, otherwise I would hear nothing. I hear they are great doctors and they ARE a "Center for Excellence" which helps. Wish me luck

Hi 2Btiny I'm having at Vanderbilt as well. No date yet schedule. Just waiting for the Cpap month to be over. Hopfully in early July or sooner. Who did your surgery? Dr Richards will be doing mine. How are you feeling? I have read that some people feel like their starving. I am soooo excited for you I can't wait any longer, the anticipation is killing me.
