5lb. weight gain before surgery..
AngelWhispers replied to AngelWhispers's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yea, I would have to say the weight gain is from the "last meal syndrome." lol. I'm usually able to loose weight pretty quick so I'll just try to loose it before the surgery. Yea I had to get off of the birth control due to the higher risk of blood clots. -
5lb. weight gain before surgery..
AngelWhispers posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor did not put me on a pre-op diet. My only orders were that I had to quit birth control and start taking a B-complex vitamin. I have pre-op on Thursday at the hospital and I'm wondering if it may be a problem if I've gained 5-8lbs since my first consultation on 7/16. Anyone know???:smile2: -
September 4th bandsters????
AngelWhispers replied to AngelWhispers's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yea it seems as though insurance would at least cover some portion of it, mine is as exclusion. The 13,600 includes 18 months free fills and covers any complications you may have which is so great! I've heard of many places covering a certain amount of fills, but not complications unless of course there's a defect in the band or if they did something wrong during surgery. -

RfishN: The cost of lapband in slidell is $13,600 for self pay patients. I have pre-op next week on the 28th which is probably when it'll hit me that this is real! lol I've been let down on this journey entirely too many times when it came to finding a way to pay for this surgery. I've finally come up with a solution and can't wait for it to be over with! lol Goodluck with yours and keep us posted!! -
September 4th bandsters????
AngelWhispers replied to AngelWhispers's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The reason I chose the band is because there is no cutting and rerouting of anything inside me, its reversible, and it is adjustable. I would say my favorite thing about it is that it can be adjusted according to how much restriction you need. The bypass is a bit riskier and it can not be adjusted like the band can. -

Oh, also I am in no way saying to "test the theory" of HIM not being worth it. As husband and wife you're supposed to work through any and all problems. A marriage is not intended to be something that you just try out and if it doesn't work then end it. There was that "til death do us part" clause thrown in to show you are supposed to stick it out no matter what and try to work out everything that you do not agree on. I'm sure you know that marriage is not easy, but you two chose each other for life. I'm not trying to "preach" or anything, basically just stating my views on things. Goodluck with everything, just keep your head up and try to keep God in your life as much as possible and you will see changes and miracles happening all around you. -

Wow, thats terrible! I was blessed with a husband who is the most supportive of all others around me about the lap band, so I can't say that I know how you're feeling. Although, I can say that he is very wrong. You are his wife, he is supposed to stand by you no matter what and for him just to completely "hang you out to dry" like that is just terrible. He obviously has no concern as to how you are feeling with the way your body is and just simply does not care. For him to say he won't even help with the children was just going overboard! Men like that make me so angry! I mean you are going to be in no condition to do everything yourself after the surgery and he will just stand there and let you suffer by having to do it all yourself b/c he's too hardheaded, stubborn, and selfish to care enough about his wife, the one who's supposed to come first in his life right after God, to try to understand how you're feeling and try to support you in whatever you choose to do that may make your life happier. He obviously just does not understand the way you're feeling nor does he have any interest is trying to understand. Tell him to read over his vows again to refresh his memory on what kind of husband he "vowed" to be. -

Its so great to hear from people who are in the same weight range as I am and who've had such great success in a short period of time! This makes me so emotional and just want to cry when I think of the possible success I'm hoping to have with this surgery. I'm 5'3 and 225 lbs. My surgery date is Sept. 4. My first goal is to lose at least 40 lbs by New Year's day. My total weight loss goal is to be at 125lbs. What type of experiences have you guys had with loose skin? -
Wow, thats horrible! I'm sure it hurts a great deal to hear something like that coming from your own sister, but sometimes people are just like that. I'm not sure what your religious beliefs are, but the way I would handle it would be to tell her "I'm sorry you feel that way and I wil be praying for you." and leave it at that. And I really would pray for her and also pray that God would help you to forgive her for the pain she's caused you and the evil things she says and does.
