OK, I had my band filled Monday. I can barely eat, it took me an hour and a half to get down one scrambled egg, that was with all of the sliming and spitting in between, an probably three bites of refried beans. What the heck? At first I thought I was just swollen but I am on my fourth day of this. I can hardly drink anything. Like I have had probably 8 ounces of water in two days, I can't make myself drink because it hurts.... Should I ride it out or am I too tight?

I drink coffee every morning, and I couldn't even get that down!! This morning I woke up drank some coffee and was able to eat a scrambled egg!! I have been drinking water and it is going down and staying down!! Maybe I was just super swollen from all of the vomiting I was doing. I feel much better now and I think I can live with this now. Thanks for all of your advice I really appreciate it. I have no one else to talk to about this, and I hate calling my Dr. office all of the time!

I had my band filled on Monday, I think I was a little worse off than you were. I stuck it out and today I was able to eat an egg and drink without throwing it up!! Give it at least 5 days!!! I'm glad I didn't go and get any taken out!!

I didn't think you were being "flippant", I was just wondering how long you held out to see if there was any relief insight withouth having to go back to the dr. Sorry if you took it the wrong way!!

So how long was it before you could acctually eat some food?

Can anyone tell me how long it takes for the swelling to go down after you get a fill? I had a fill yesterday, came home ate refried beans was good, by dinner couldn't eat a thing. Same thing today only I cannot drink hardly any liquids, whatever I try to eat I have to vomit it up! This happened last fill I had and went and had some taken out, then nothing I was normal could eat normal and did not loose any weight. I just want to know how long is it going to take before I can eat something?:wink2:

:tongue_smilie:I had a fill on Wednesday the 11th, everything was good.... I woke up Thursday morning and couldn't even swallow my own spit. I was miserable I threw up everything all day, even had to pull over on the side of the road because I was gagging from all of the slime (nice huh!), thought I was just swollen so Friday morning got up felt pretty good cooked an egg and had two bites I was done, thirty minutes later it was all coming back up... I couldn't drink I couldn't do anything I was miserable... So I went and had a unfill, my normal Dr. was not there and obviously the dr. there did not want to mess with me so he just put me back to where I was before the fill, I was irritated because he was busy and didn't want to mess with me...... Oh well, I can eat anything now!!! I just can't get back in to get a fill until July 28th, but I will work thru it I would rather control myself than let the band control me, and that is what it was doing I have never been so miserable in my life..... I did lose 5 pounds.....

I have a 10cc band, I went for a fill on 5/7, the dr. put in 10.5cc in my 10cc band. I was really tight for about 3 days, I had the slime and did vomit one day, but after the first 3 days I was alot better and over time I have been able to go back to eating way to much and whatever I want to eat... How much can you get into a 10cc band? I am a little concerned because I have only lost 25 pounds and I still have 65 pounds to go.. How will this band help me if I have it all the way filled and have no restriction. Any suggestions?

Yes because asked him and questioned how he could put more in that what is allowed. This is my 3rd fill.

I would contact your states insurance commisioner, that is where you need to start, let them advise you from there. I happen to know that fep does pay for the lapband surgery.

I believe there is a group of dr.s in Tulsa who might do your fill, I am not sure give them a call 918-481-4800. If not I know that there is a Dr. in Cushing Ok. that will do your fills his name is Dr. Lafon, I do not have his phone number sorry! Just an update, I happened to be at the med center the Dr. G and Dr. Kirk are at and I ran into Dr. Kirk in the hallway and told him about not having any restriction and my frustration, he was able to pull some strings and get me in for another fill!!! I have lost 5 pounds since then... woo hoo.. He did tell me they are trying to hire another surgeon to make more available for the fills!!

Hi! I was just wondering what everyone was eating. Are you sticking to a lo carb diet or do you just eat anything you want as long as you eat just a little?

My surgery was in December so I wore sweat pants and flanel pajama pants. I could wear my jeans withing a week of surgery!! Good luck!

I had my surgery in Dec. I have only had two fills since my surgery date. The problem is it takes at least 8 to 10 weeks to get another appt., I would be ok with this if I was losing weight, but I am not. I am so frustrated and depressed.. I went through all of this with a false sense of hope I think. If I could control how much I ate I wouldn't needed to have this. I have lost a total of 20 pounds and none since January. It seems like the first fill never worked and the second one worked for like 2 days.... I have called and begged for a sooner appt and they tell me they are just booked out that far and cannot help it. So I would like to change Dr.s but I don't want to change and run into the same problem, so any suggestions would help. Thanks for letting me whine.........:wink2:

coolcrystal, since you are wide open how much do you eat? Do you keep it at small portions or are you eating until you are full? No judgement here I was just wondering..... I have very little restriction and I find if I eat very little I am hungry like an hour after I eat. Feeling very frustrated I was banded 12/6 have been filled twice and have only lost 20 pounds... only 3 since Jan. and can't get in for another fill until June 11. Oh and I can eat anything I want.

The Dr.'s are great, especially Dr. Kirk he is wonderful. I just want to give you a little warning. I had my surgery Dec. 6, called for my first fill it was supposed to be 6 weeks, couldn't get in for 8 weeks, same thing on my 2nd fill. Had my 2nd fill Dr. told me to call and get an appt. for another fill in 6 weeks... I can't get in for 10 weeks. I am so frustrated, my first fill didn't take I called tried to get in quicker couldn't, my 2nd one I had restriction for about a week and I desperatly need another fill but it is 9 weeks before I can get back in. If I would have known it was going to take this long to get fills I probably would have went with another Dr. I have only lost 20 pounds since my surgery and I am a little dissapointed because I do not feel like it is working.............. :confused2:

If you stretch your pouch will it shrink back down to the right size? Probably a dumb question but idk??

What is slimming?

Someone posted a website the other day that tells all of the Dr. that will do fills in each state. I cannot find that post can anyone help me out? Please!!

I had my first fill today. The dr. had me go eat something to find out how it was working. I went and ate and was able to eat way to much. I went back to him and we realized my stomach had spasmed, so he filled it with more, told me to go eat some yogurt I did, I was full after a couple of bites so I thought I was ok then get home and eat some refried beans for lunch and once again I am able to eat more than I should. Has this happened to anyone else? It is a really long wait to get back in to see him and I really hope I didn't mess up leaving to early..:tongue:

I was told not to drink liquids 30 min before, during and 30 mins after my meals. Is this something everyone does or just something my Dr. wants? That is the hardest thing that I have done.
