    My Journey Thus Far

This is before and after pictures of my continuing journey. I was banded on Dec. 18th of 2008 with a starting weight of 302 pounds, now I am 176 with a total loss of 126 pounds. It's been 4 years and over a year without a fill. I am still pushing on! My original goal weight was 200 but now I've met my new one for 175-180. Comments are welcome!

  6. Saw your pics. You look fantastic!

  7. So I've lost over 100 pounds since my surgery in December of 2008 but how has my image of myself changed? As I've talked to my friends lately they have told me that I am more sensitive about my appearance and my body. I agree. Don't get me wrong I love the new person that I am but their is a flip side. Before my surgery I was over 300lbs. and, now that I look back on it, I was more comfortable with myself than I am today. I now weight 200 lbs. and I am constantly looking in the mirror and honestly disgusted with my body and more aware of it now. Before my surgery I had an idea of the body I would have and how I would look. Needless to say that is not the case and how I look currently is more realistic. Dealing with how I see myself is something only I can change but I wondering if anybody else has had this experience or something similar to this? If so I would love to hear from you.
  8. Hey Una, thanks for the comment! Sorry it took me so long to respond. As weird as it sounds, I worked out as is bulking, and took in around 350g protein / 1800 cal / ~30 carbs or so a day and did my best to bulk on low cal. I'm still trying to bulk into my skin - lifting for size, 0 cardio, etc. I have pretty bad skin problems - nothing on my stomach, it's my handles and lower back for me... areas that get smaller as you work them, not bigger : /. Just makes it look worse. You look great by the way, I think you're going to fit into your skin much better than I have. Be proud man, you're doing great.

  9. Amazing Job! I was 302 and now I am 205 and pretty much have stalled. I've started running and working out some. How did you do it? Any problems with loose skin or anything?

  10. No, I wouldn't dare ditch my friends... there is one in that pic that I am not friends with anymore but that was due to other things. The amount of food other people eat really doesn't bother me.

  11. Happy Bandiversary!

  12. Slow but steady. Due to the holidays I have to wait 2 months to get my first fill. Ugh!

If I can just maintain during Christmas I will be happy. :)

  13. I have lost 51 lbs since surgery 8/20/2009. I feel the same... I have gone from a size 20/22 to a size 12/14 and I also feel great but I still see that big girl in the mirror. I do not know how to get past this. I guess this is the downfall of being big for so many years. I am here if you need me.... Let me know how you are doing... again you look fantastic!!! Oh and the need to still work on your body.... just do it.... it can only keep you healthier and healthier as the days go by...

  14. Thanks for the comment!
