I had my 4th fill last week ...thoughts...problems..questions...
Mom2_4 replied to BlessedTwice's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It sounds like you might be a bit tight but maybe you should give it a few more days before going back. I had to learn to eat smaller bites and more slowly which sounds simple enough but it was hard to remember at times. Also, with more restriction comes more intolerance to some foods. I had to learn the hard way several times not to eat certain things anymore. Best of luck to you! -
Has anyone heard from Clare about when the next meeting is going to be? I haven't gotten anything yet.

That is so AWESOME! Makes me feel like a slug though  I am slowing down on the exercise these days mostly because the kids are home and I am forever shuffling them to their activities or play dates and I am not getting enough ME time in. One more month and they will all 4 be at school this year!

No shoes or socks for us either. They sell covers for the top of it to guard against dirty feet.

It is working for me. I am the worlds worst dieter and I had serious doubts as to whether it would work for me. I have only had the band for less than 5 months but it has totally changed my life for the better!! The band tells you when to stop so that you don't overeat. Best of luck to you!

I don't know who your cable provider is but ours has an exercise section in On Demand where you can choose from different exercise "videos" Some of them are pretty good. My daughter loves to do it with me so at least I am doing it better than someone

Thanks for sharing! I think it is so much easier to eat like this during the summer when there are so many seasonal fruits and veges available. I tend to do alot in the crockpot during the winter with heavy sauces and all that.

Congratulations! That is so awesome!!

CONGRATULATIONS x4!!! Those are awesome!! Sorry about the UTI though.
-
Mine are the same size, just not as wide as they were.

Thanks for the info Connie! I will be there tonight, hopefully it won't be hard to find, I don't think I have ever been to Corrales.
-
I am LOVIN this! We finally found one and I have been playing constantly for the past few days and really feeling it everywhere. Its like they took exercise and made it fun. I completely surpassed my exercise goal for the week and I am ready to do more

Glad you are doing well. Hope this fill turned out to be a good one!

Welcome Sherri! Sorry you had a rough day. No matter how careful you are, it just happens from time to time. I do good with that for awhile and then for no apparent reason, it happens a few times, then I go back to normal. I guess it is part of band life :tt1: Glad you have joined us!

Best of luck to you today!! Update us when you can.

I think all docs have their own method. My doctor is pretty aggressive with fills and makes sure you feel good and tight before you leave the office, doesn't play around with tiny amounts. He does make us wait like 5-6 weeks between fills though unless there is a problem. This method worked well for me since I hit my sweet spot on the second fill. -
The two things I have learned recently...

Exercise is that pesky thing that sucks up all of your energy and makes you ache, but stop for a few days and so does the weight loss. It is definitely what is keeping me going. I am bored to tears at Curves, don't care for the looks I get at the regular gym, and don't get enough of a workout with the WiiFit and other machines I have at home. Keep up the great work, sounds like it is melting off now!! -
Maybe you should sign up for water aerobics. It is low impact and you still get some exercise out of it.
-
We have had it for a few weeks and I LOVE it! I am still doing my regular exercise but it is so much fun. Way worth the money!
-
I am the first one to admit that this has been no picnic. There have been good days and some very bad days, but it is so so so worth it. The good days greatly outnumber the bad and keep in mind how many bad days you will have if you cancel. I had done all kinds of research as well and I got a little freaked right before, it is normal. You will be fine, hang in there!

I have never been a big fan of exercise and my knees and feet would kill me whenever I tried. You will notice that as the weight comes off that it gets easier and easier to do it. I would suggest joining Curves when you get clearance from your doc. It is a decent amount of exercise for a beginner and it is over in 30 minutes. If you go a few times a week then you will see and feel results. Hang in there, it isn't so bad and definitely necessary!

I did it alot at first when I first got banded, my DH thought I was nuts. Estrogen is stored in the fat and as you lose it, it is released into your body, thus making you a little on the hormonal side. It will get better, hang in there.

Would you get breast implant.....??

I have always been a member of the IBTC and am planning on getting them when I get to goal as a present for myself as well as my DH. I deserve it -
I have tried everything! I HATE the taste and smell of vitamins, it makes me gag and gag and most of them make me nauseous when I do finally get them down. The Viactiv chews made me actually throw up. I finally settled on the Flintstones cut in half and swallowed like a pill. The Viactiv flavor glides were easy to get down but they unfortunately made me nauseous for hours.

Is 23 years old to young to get lapband?
Mom2_4 replied to guy221985's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think if you need it, then you should get it no matter what age you are. My only thought is that for a female who may want to have kids in the future. Having kids is what started my spiral into obesity and after every kid I had, my body got worse and worse, and mixed with lifestyle and age, I was a mess. I can't imagine being 10 years younger and losing my excess weight and then wanting to go through it all over again every time I had another child.
