  1. My highest was 320 around Christmas this past year. My lowest was 125 when I graduated high school.
  2. I hate the word 'items' I can't explain why but I can't stand when people refer to their stuff as items. Also, the word 'pickles' often sends me into hysterics, no real explanation on that one either :rolleyes2:

Did you have weight problems as a child?

Not me. My weight problems didn't start until I was 20 when I had my first child and was in a bad relationship. Food became my friend :smile2:
  4. I also had mine with Dr. Orris & Dr. DeBarros in February and am feeling so good and loving the results so far.

    Rewards

One of my rewards is a new Coach bag. I am hoping I can get there before vacation this year
  6. I have UHC and my records from 2002-2003 were submitted along with records starting in 2007 from my current PCP and I got approved right away. The person I talked to at United said that they wanted to know that you have had a diagnosis of morbid obesity for at least 5 years. I would schedule a physical with your primary right away and discuss your desire for surgery with her asap. That way you have older records as well as current. It worked for me. Good luck!!
  7. The financial coordinator at my clinic said that United was the easiest company to get patients approved through. I do know someone who has United and their policy has an exclusion though.

    Same story, different day

I also have UHC and needed a 5 year history. I had records submitted from 2002-2003 from one doctor and also records from my current doc starting in 2007. Nothing was submitted in between. They approved me right away. From what I understood about it, they just want to know that you have had the diagnosis of morbid obesity for at least 5 years.

    OOOO...my aching muscles!

You can also make sure you stretch before and/or after working out. It doesn't seem important but is really is. This helps me tremendously.

ab lounge, any one have one?

I had one a few years ago. It didn't do much for me and took up too much space IMO.

Who is that girl? Is it really me?

    You look great!!

A sad (if it's for real) eBay listing

    Wow! Poor guy.

    finally GOOD news!

I got approved January 7 and they wanted to schedule me 2 weeks later, but due to my own scheduling issues, I had to wait til Feb 14. Hope you get your date asap!

    New low carb drink!

Fruity sweet. I noticed last night when I ordered pizza for my family, not ME, that Papa Johns even has them on their online menu.

going on holidays with the band

I have heard that. I am hoping it isn't too bad for short flights. My surgeons office is a 7 hour drive and I am flying in this time to get my fill and don't want it to affect me getting as much as I need.
  16. I have found that the people I have told have a greater respect for me that people who don't know, they just think I am 'fat & lazy' like most of the population out there. I contemplated not telling people when I was thinking about getting banded but I don't really care who knows now. I tell anyone who asks and totally recommend it to others. Sorry your roommate is so misinformed. It definitely is not the easy way out. Once you are banded, she will see that for herself by watching what you are going through. Good luck!!

    Rash..under my stomach (apron)

I get that. My doctor gave me Nystatin ointment and it clears right up.
  18. I waited for 3 months, not on my insurance company, but for a former doctor of mine to send records. Had to call and practically beg them to get off of their hineys and send them since the only requirement from my insurance was to have a 5 year history of morbid obesity. The wait made me second guess my decision, had some major hopelessness going on. Stay strong and have faith that your approval will happen soon!!

    Just venting

Sorry you were hurt by that comment, people can be so insensitive. When you start losing, that will be the best revenge. Good luck with your surgery!

    "Difficult" foods

I only have an intolerance to rice and beef. Neither will stay down no matter what I do to them. I think everyone is different and only experimenting will tell you what you can and cannot have.

    Back from surgery!!!

Congrats on your surgery! Glad to hear things went so well.

    New low carb drink!

I agree! These are really good. I used to get them at Costco until they stopped selling them. My favorites are fruit punch and lemonade that are really good.

    Clothing sizes

I am just the opposite. I started at a 26/28 and have lost 40ish pounds and have gone down to a comfy 20 and even though the scale is moving super slow, my clothes continue to get baggier and baggier. Our bodies are strange
  24. I eat 700-900 on average. I am trying really hard not to go over but don't sweat it if I do.
