I came from obese parents, and was taught bad eating habits. I became overweight after the birth of my daughter when I was 25. I was never able to lose the baby weight, and steadily gained. I tried every diet and diet pill, and excersize. Never more than a few pounds. I joined WW in 2003, and I was faithful to it. In one yr, I had lost 50 lbs, but then I got lax about journaling, and the weight slipped up again, over the next couple of yrs. I met a girl in 2005 that told me about the band, the first I had heard of it. But only certain ins cos. would pay for it. In 2007, I went to work for a co. that had Aetna ins, and no exclusion. I was thrilled. A friend of mine told me about Dr Cywes, and Dr Baptista. In Jan 2008, I had my 1st appt, and finally on May 20, I had the surgery. I got down to 160 by Nov, and hit a long plateau. I just broke that in June, and am now at 157, I saw 154 briefly. Hopefully, I will again. I am thankful for having this very valuable tool, just wish I could figure out how to use it to it's fullest benefit.
