i'm glad to hear your both happy with being banded. my daughter was banded a year ago february 8th and has lost 115 pounds so far. i wish both of you luck!! talk to you soon.

after your 1st fill if you notice that after even 2 small bites and chewing very well you have discomfort and feel the urge to vomit then your band is too tight after your fill.we learned this with my daughter. she had a tiny unfill and it's great! she has lost 40 pounds since february of 08. good luck to you

hello again, we have been pretty busy here.:thumbup: my daughter who was banded by dr.aceves in mexicali is doing great! :thumbup:since being banded in february of 08 she has lost 40 pounds.:huh2: and still losing!!! :rolleyes2: she had her 1st fill in april, it was too tight so we had to go back to mexicali for an unfill. which caused discomfort when she ate even a tiny bit because of the band being too tight and she would vomit. since the unfill she has great restriction and is doing wonderful. as they tell you from the get go, it takes a few appts on fills to get it just right. well worth every penny. dr. aceves and his coworkers are awesome!!!:smile2:

hey to jessicalouann: great job there in tijuana. my daughter had her surgery feb 8 2008 and she has already lost 32 pounds. keep up the great work!!

my daughter had her band put on Feb 8th 2008 and her 1st fill april 12 th. her 1st fill has made her band too tight now. she can't eat more than 2 bites of anything without feeling discomfort in her stomach. she was filled with the minimum 2 ccs of saline. i can say she has lost 32 pounds since her fill.

i'm not sure what happened here but wasabubblebutt sent an e-mail to me about this. i'm not the one that stated anything about this doctor or about tijuana. i do have my facts straight and have only commented on what i know through my daughters experience with dr. aceves. get your facts straight before you send e-mails. thank you

my daughter was banded in feb 08 and 1st fill in march 08. all has went well with no downfalls. and by the way, i paid cash for her procedure. as one other said you need to also think about the problems associated with being obese. stroke, heartattack, diabetes and all that goes with diabetes. i believe obviously because I paid for this to be done to my daughter whom i love more than my own life. so that right there should say something. it was worth every penny i have put out to see my daughter already lose 30 pounds. she's doing great and is already feeling so much better about herself and even out walking and exercising. by the way, dr.aceves did her band.

my daughter was banded in feb 08. she has lost 30 pounds. we went to dr.aceves in mexicali. everything was great. doctor, hospital, hotel room, even the shuttle service from san diego,ca into mexicali and back. we just went back again in march for her 1st fill, which went awesome as well! good luck on your journey also!!!

dr. aceves is who we chose for my daughter after looking into him. great doctor, hospital was very clean and proffesional. would not change a thing.

you will be very pleased with dr.aceves and the hospital, the hotel literally everything.we were there for my daughters lap band in february of this year. no complaints. all was great!! good luck!!!

you and your husband should rest assured your in good hands with dr.aceves and the hospital. both get a 10!! very clean and great bedside manners etc. going into mexicali, not sure if your driving or flying in. either way if you drive in, no problem. coming back out expect to have a pretty long wait getting back through u.s.customs. we just drove in for my daughters 1st fill in march and it took 1 hour and 45 minutes at the border. well worth it though, and worth every red cent for the band and all!!

not myself. bit i'm speaking about my daughter who i took to mexicali for her band by dr.aceves. just wanted to let you know he was absolutely great. hospital and all. we have o complaints, even the room was wonderful. we were back in mexicali in march for my daughters 1st fill. again everything was great. we did not have to stay the night though. so it was in and out. my daughter has lost 30 pounds since being banded in march of this year. good luck to you!

my daughter also took off for 2 weeks to heal up etc. after a couple of days she did not have pain, except her port and some chest and shoulder pain. dr. alberto aceves in mexicali did her surgery. you should not lift for 2 weeks after. so if mom can stick around that time, that would be good beings you have the little ones!!

don't get discouraged. i took my daughter to be banded in mexicali on 2-8-08. before her 1st fill she lost 9 pounds. i took her for her 1st fill 3-12-08, she has lost a total of 30 pounds since being banded. she is so happy, and i'm happy for her also. keep it up. it will pay off for sure!!!:biggrin2:
