  1. Hi - I'm a lurker more than a poster, but thought I'd comment! I started taking Wellbutrin XL a couple of weeks ago in anticipation of the emotional things the surgery will dig up. I'm scheduled for January 24. It seems the Wellbutrin is really tearing up my digestive system, so it's been a battle to get settled down. I do think that it helps control my emotions overall (I've been on it once before).
  2. I'm planning on banding surgery in January and have done tons of research. Other than the erosion/slippage issue, which is scary for anyone banded or considering it of course, I am feeling pretty comfortable with the decision to have the surgery. But I have to wonder - are there days or moments or situations in which you wish, temporarily, that you weren't banded? And, do you ever get tired of having the band and all of the "work" that goes along with it? Be honest, don't feel like you have to sugar-coat it. I'm actually hoping to hear how those of you who do feel this way sometimes deal with it. Because I have a feeling that even with success, I'll be "over" the band sometimes.

    Hypoglycemic?

I know one person mentioned mixing a little bit of orange juice in Water if she got the feeling of having low blood sugar. Anyone else have other tricks? I fight with low blood sugar pretty often and am wondering how it will go once I'm banded. What Protein Snacks do you use to curb low blood sugar?

Do You Ever Wish You WEREN'T Banded?

That's exactly how I feel - the idea of always having to watch what I eat - for the rest of my life - Yikes! And as you say, it's a great reminder of how I ended up in this to begin with - I have lost weight in the past but then allowed my eating habits to fall right back to what they were before.
  5. Hi, I'm new here. Am considering the band and am in the research phase. At this point, my biggest fear is the concept of PB/vomiting. I'm wondering what foods have caused this for those of you who are banded? I know all experiences are different and not everyone seems to have a different food they avoid. But just thought I'd ask...

What Foods Have Caused You to PB?

Sounds like how tight the fill is can make a lot of difference with PBs. For those of you who are not so tight - do you think it helps you have fewer PBs?

    Rate of weight loss

I wondered the same thing about the stomach flu. With a three-year-old at home who attends preschool, the stomach-flu is almost an annual occurence in my household!

    Rate of weight loss

Just want to note that I know it's probably annoying for those of you who are "pros" to answer these types of questions over and over. But it's very helpful for those of us who are researching the band. Thanks for the insight into different levels of weight loss.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate your insight. I suppose I have to get over my fear of a PB to keep moving forward with the process!
