Couple of post-op concerns
Michelle34 replied to Dee5611's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi. I was banded on 1-17-08. My Dr. did not say anything about needing GI series. As far as diet and exercise I know I am going to have to do. But the good thing is I am really never hungry and when I am it only takes a small amout to feel me up and I have no salin in my band yet. The hardest thing for me has been my mind. I see things and want to eat even though I am not hungry, but even that is starting to get better. It just takes time for us to get used to the over night change in our lives. It will be worth it though. Just hang in there everyday gets easier. -
Hey guys. Just setting up my ticker.

Help!! I was banded on 1-17-08, and I am still having a lot of anxiety at times. I know it takes awhile to retrain your mind about eating, but this is making me crazy. I am still of soft foods and the only 2 foods I have tried are mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs. I feel like I will never eat real food again. Please someone tell me that I will have a somewhat of a normal life soon. I know that I will never be able to eat a lot, which is the purpose, but please give me some idea of the type of food I will be able to eat again. Also I am very excited. The 2 weeks after my banding I lost 21lbs and now I have gained 5lbs. Is this normal? I do not go for my first fill until march3.

Help trying to adjust.
Michelle34 replied to Michelle34's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you so much to both of you who have responed. It helps to know this will get easier. As far as my list of soft foods that I can have. There was only a few types of beans, eggs and cottage cheese on there that has protien. They did not tell me I could eat any kind of meat. They did tell me that I need to be drinking a protien shake everyday, but I do not know what to get. Any suggestions? I think I am in a rut. I keep asking myself if I have done the right thing. -
What counts towards water intake?
Michelle34 replied to Jeni's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow. I had my banding on Jan. 17 as well. But I am still feeling so full that I am doing good to drink a 20 oz bottle of water a day and maybe fit in a sf popsicle or a little jello. I do not know how I could get down 64 oz at this point,BUt I sure am thirsty enough that I would like to try. -
I am so glad that you asked this question. I am 10 days post-op and i am soooo thirsty. I have just been sipping, but I feel like I could down a bottle of water without taking a breath.
