  1. I hardly had any restriction until my 4th fill. It was also explained to me that as you lose weight you lose it around your organs (which is a good thing) and as this happens the band loosens up and can allow for more to pass through. So now I have pretty good restriction and am finally understanding what everyone has been talking about. I thought I was never going to get there so just be patient, it will happen soon enough.
  2. Hi There I didn't really have any restriction until my 4th fill, and man what a difference. I did not have to worry about the size of my bites before or what I ate and couldn't understand what everyone was talking about, now I do. I have had a few bites too big and I can't even describe the uncomfortable feeling you will get, so chew, chew, chew. I am really having to be aware of everything I eat now. I too lost my first 25 by exercising alot and really watching what I ate and was starting to wonder if I would ever feel what others were. So give it time and probably one or two more fills and you will feel a huge difference. Hope this helps, keep up the good work sounds like your doing great even without the restriction so when it happens you will be amazed, and trust me you will know. Valerie

    Protein????

I agree with the New Whey Protein bullets, they are awesome and more than half your days protein in one dose. Not bad tasting and portable. The rest of your protein should be from food, fish, chicken, etc. My surgeon had not heard of these so I took him one and he said that it was a good way to go. Hope that helps abd good luck.
  4. What exactly is "PB"? I have seen it referenced all over but not sure what this means. Thank you for helping me with the terminology.
  5. Thank you so much, I feel better knowing that I am not alone and that any progress is still progress. I certainly did not gain it over night so I shouldn't expect to lose it that way. And I agree with the tastebuds changing, I had a sip of Cooke the other day after not having ANY for 9 weeks and I couldn't believe how icky sweet it was. I will now stick to water, can't believe I used to love that stuff.
  6. I am in exactly the same situation. Banded March 5, first fill April 11th. I was doing really good right after the fill but with time I am not feeling the restriction I thought I would and I am getting extremely discouraged. I have lost 34 from pre-op til now but was down 38. gained some weight over the weekend. Not sure how to handle it and find myself eating things I shouldn't just because they are there. Is it common to not feel real restirction for a while? I hope so.Any advice would be appreciated. Valerie
  7. I hear ya. I am hoping that when I have my first fill I will not be as hungry. It has been difficult to keep things on the right track when I know that I am able to eat regular now. And I have been hungry thats for sure. And yes I have had a mishap or two, no bindging or anything like that but ate small amounts of things I probably shouldn't have.
  8. Your very welcome, and keep me posted as well. Sounds like we have some similar hurdles to get over but I know we both can do it, with a little help from our friends. Take care Valerie
  9. Hi There, I use the Isopure, 50grams of carbs per serving and very little carbs. I add a 1/2 teaspoon of PB to the chocolate and sometimes a couple slices of banana and I am good until lunch. ANd I know that I have pretty much gotten all my Protein for the day, this is what keeps you full. I get mine at GNC, lots of flavors, I mix up the flavors sometimes, makes it interesting. Good Luck
  10. Hey Destynee From reading another thread I would say you are still in good shape. Some others were not even restricted at a week after surgery and have over eaten or eaten the wrong things, I am guilty of that too. So from what I understand until you get a fill you will be able to eat more without any problems, the trick is to really try not to. I know it's hard, I do so good in the morning and at lunch but once I am home from work I am having trouble. Not really eating the wrong things but maybe too much period. I get my first fill 4/11 and I am looking forward to the restriction. Hang in there, we are all in this together and here if you want to talk. Valerie
  11. Hi There I was banded 3/5 as well and am really starting to have trouble with my eating. Still doing the Protein shake in the morning but have added a little PB and a couple slices of banana, easier to get down with some flavor. And doing good at lunch but at after work and at night I am getting really hungry. I also lost before surgery (15lbs) and 10 since but I slowly gained back a pound and am getting nervous. I have been walking ALOT and am hoping that my body is just changing and I will start losing again soon. My first fill isn't scheduled until 4/11. Thanks for everyone who has commented, it's nice to know that I am not the only one with these issues. Can someone tell me if the fills hurt?
  12. I was bended the same day and am also having the post op regrets and doubts. I am feeling better today and getting around pretty good. I just keep thinking about all the difficult times that are going to be behind me now. Anxious about flying, eating out with friends and booths (you all know what I mean) and just the everyday feelings of why me? I wonder if I should have given it one more attempt on my own. But I am thinking positive and looking forward to all the wonderful adventures ahead. Thats what I say today but I am sure it will change daily. But lets focus on today. Keep positive and you are not in this alone.
