  1. Hi everyone... I'm not doing so good either. Have had some bad food choices this weekend. I actually cooked (don't normally do that) and I baked a few things that I have of course sampled a few times! LOL That being said, here goes today 10/13 B- 1 hard boiled egg L- salad--- lettuce, shredded cheese, mushrooms, croutons, French dressing S- Cinnamon latte-large with whipped cream D- Meatloaf -one small patty S- skim milk 8 oz and 1 piece magic bar, 1 piece Reese's dessert bar ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Yummy!!!!!!!!!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Protein- dunno Exercise- Treadmill 30 minutes- Bad eating day, but made it back to the gym!!!!!!!! Woot! ~C

    Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

    Numbrgirl- I just joined the C2K thread. My goal is to start running at some point. I just can't seem to get my confidence up enough to try it. I am SO PROUD OF YOU!!! Keep up the good work! Mom- I really think I'd like the Boot Camp too. I will have to look for something like that. I live in a small town far, far away from big city civilization, so it may be tough to find one! LOL Kieul- LORI!!!!!! Glad to see you back! Yes, the drinking with food thing is weird at first. What a strange habit to have to break, huh? You do get used to it, but I'll admit, there are times that I do it. Sometimes, the meal is too dry and I need to wet it down a bit, OR if I've paid for an alcoholic beverage, I will sip on it throughout my meal rather than guzzling it before the food gets there! LOL Hey, that could make for an interesting dinner! Your signature and avatar have taken shape! Well everyone...yesterday was my 6 month Bandiversary. I only lost 2 pounds since my big 50 victory. But considering all that's happened this past month, I've decided it's still a step in the right direction and I am feeling good, looking better and working out....all things I couldn't have done without the band. I love all the support I get here and I love you guys!!!!!! ~C

    October Exercise Challenge

    Okay...seriously. What is wrong with me???? I didn't go to the gym Friday, and I never made it today (We had tickets to the OSU/Purdue game! GO BUCKS!). So this whole week has been awful for the gym. I only made it 3 days. Tomorrow is a new day...so hopefully I can get myself there!! ~C
  5. Boy, it's been a long time since I've been able to make a meeting with you guys. I WAS in Columbus though today...got to go to the OSU game! So much fun. I hope sometime to make it to meetings in the future. Maybe when winter hits I'll have less going on. Hope everyone is doing well and having fun! ~Carol

    Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

    This makes me laugh! So many people have asked me that! My avatar is a Pekingnese dog! Her name is Lily. She is so darn cute! The black spot is her "mask"...her eyes, nose and mouth is in there. The lighter part is all her fluffy hair! I am seriously considering changing it. I've had it a long time and no one knows what it is. I just gotta think of something else to put there.... ~C

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

    Okay, thanks. I'll start there and see how it goes! Yes, they have the chip. I bought the chip, but have forgotten to use the iPod part every time I work out. I need to get in the habit of using it. I like the chip though, it's pretty neat! Thanks for the advice on where to start. I am nervous about starting on the treadmill, but I like the idea of having so much control over the time and speed. Plus if I wear out I can just stop! :tt2: ~C

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

    Thanks everyone... Did you find it easier to start on a treadmill or outside? I don't know how fast to put the treadmill...a little scared! LOL I currently power walk at 3.5 mph. By the way- I just bought new running shoes--Livestrong-Nike+. They are pretty cool looking, and 100% of the profit goes to cancer research. All kinds of cancer, not just one. Cool, huh? ~C

S: None L: Bites of a baked potato with ham (1 slice), tomato (diced) D: Tamale, refried Beans, 3 chips, sour cream/guac and 2 Margarita's!!!!!! Protein: Don't know Exercise: None...took a second day off Anything to add: I think I really did need a break from the gym. I am feeling better today, and will go sometime before the afternoon. I think I was needing to give my body a rest. I'm just scared to though, I don't want to lose momentum. ~C

    Okay...I have lurked this thread from the beginning, but after reading what Whosya said, I couldn't resist posting any longer. A few of you may know that I am a recent cancer survivor (lymphoma). I finally got banded (the cancer is in my stomach) after a very long wait. I really want to run because I think there is something very liberating about running (plus I think runners are skinnier)! I lack the confidence to even try it so far, so I read and live it through all of you. I love this thread, and I love how close you all are and the wonderful support you give each other. Thank you Whosya, for the beautiful thing you're doing. I love it. I will do the same to my shoes...maybe not running just yet, but on my way! ~Carol

  17. I'm with you Plain. I've followed this thread from the beginning and I think a few people have gotten a little out of control. There is so much anger in the last few days. Even in this forum, where people may be unhappy with their band, we/they should be supporting each other, not tearing them apart. Btw: I love my band too. I'm just doing my homework. ~C

    Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

    Brandy- I wanna know the answer too. This part really frustrates me. The way I see it, we all should be MELTING! L2L- Okay, you wore me down. I went to thedailyplate.com and low and behold...I WAS ALREADY A MEMBER!!!!!!!!!! LOLOLOLOL Apparently the last time I logged was 5/13 and it was only 1 thing. Too funny. But I went ahead and logged some food for today and I made it public so you can see. Oh...and FYI...it took me a half an hour to log 4 items!!! Good grief. MOM- Hang in there chica. This too shall pass! I didn't like the Zumba (sorry Leslie). Those moves confuse me and I already am a Weeble at this stage so all that bouncing around was not good for the remaining structure of my breasts or my eye sockets! LOL I may attempt it again someday in the future, but I think I will be more inclined to get on a stationary bike and try a spinning class first! Besides, the images in the mirror on the wall were very disturbing. Can't bring myself to see that again for sometime. ~C

    October Exercise Challenge

    Thanks everyone for responding! Lots of helpful information. I am definitely feeling a difference in my body. How I move, how I feel when I move, etc. I think for now I will stick to doing the cardio first because I just plain can't do it after the weights. I can't seem to get the intensity high enough for a decent workout. I can see that I will need to change things up a bit in the near future, but for now I suppose I'll leave it alone. I would like to move to free weights and cables, but I feel like I can't do that until I get some more weight off me. I don't want to keep stalling my weight loss or bulk up in the wrong way. I journal every single workout I do! It motivates me and keeps me on track. I hate journaling food, but I seem to really like journaling the exercise. ~C

    Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

    Hi ladies! L2L- I'm okay, a little tight for my liking, but I'm trying to get used to it and work with it. I have really tried to beef up my calorie intake and not with just soup! I struggle a little, but if I don't improve in a few weeks, I might ask for more to come out. Today though, I got on the scale and lost 1 pound!! WOO HOO! It's been over a month since I've seen anything move, so I am estatic. Could this mean I've pushed through my plateau???? Oh please, please, please let that be true! If I actually start to really lose again, I'm not changing my fill or anything. Maybe it's the exercise? Not sure what it is, but I'll take it. Welcome Yvonne! ~C

    October Exercise Challenge

    So I have a question... The trainer at the gym told me that I needed to do both the cardio and the weights on the same day. I would prefer not to do all of that in one day because it wipes me out. My weights are wimpy though. I only do 2 sets of 12 of each exercise. She said that it's more important that I burn fat by doing cardio than it is to lift weights. Is that true? Would I benefit from separating the two? I think I might enjoy it more rather than dreading that much time in the gym and having to divide my energy the way I have been. Any suggestions are welcome! ~C

    Glou- The trainer at the gym told me to do weights first, then cardio. BUT- I was wasted by the time I made it to the cardio machines. I changed it myself and now I do the cardio first. I do so much better this way. I get more out of both. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but for now I am just happy I'm even AT the gym!
