It would be a long trip for the kids though, huh? How many miles each day BG? Girl you are addicted! WTG! So how crazy do you want the costumes to be? Do you do the challenge in them or put them on later?
-
I second all of what J said! That really is wonderful! Who are you riding with? Do you have a group? The DH?
-
{{{shakin' my booty!}}} LOL

J -Sounds fun, I am gonna look it up now! BG -I really hope you'll come to the HHH--J was gonna talk you into it! lol (sorry J) I can't wait to meet you...J says you craaaazzzeeee! :cursing: Labor Day is the first weekend in September....the HHH is always the Sunday after. Would anyone else like to consider coming to Findlay, OH to ride the HHH?

Hello everyone! Clipless pedals are awesome! Once you switch to them, you'll never go back. You get so much more out of each stroke, using less overall energy. Better workout for your legs too. As J said, there are several different kinds of pedals. The pedal you choose, may also determine the kind of shoes you wear. I have toggled between road/mountain/como bike pedals and I just prefer the combo bike ones. The cleat is recessed so I can wear a shoe that looks and feel like a tennis shoe, so I can walk around on them too. Mine are technically mountain bike pedals, but more and more people are starting to use them for road biking due to the comfort of the shoe. Road bike pedals are generally bigger, requires a stiff shoe, and when you stand on them, they lift your toes up, so you walk funny! I have Shimano SPD...Love 'em (Hope nobody minds that I butted in here--eeks) Hey BG and J--The HHH is Sunday, September 7 if you guys wanted to come and ride it here...of course you probably wouldn't want to do both! ~C

Hi everyone! Is there anyone in the Northwest Ohio region? I'm in Findlay, not yet banded (surgery date: April 10th). I'd love to talk to others nearby!
-
Yay!! Thank you Nikki! I was hoping to recruit some more people to the meeting. Don't worry, I'm still staying with the group! I can't seem to find anyone from my area...I know they are out there!! lol
-
You go girl! I should sign up too! The few times I've done it, I was a 'drop in' to the class. Maybe signing up will make me go!
-
I'm not that great at it either (too fat to look that cool doing it too) hahahaha I've only done it a few times...wore me out, but very cool. I use the moves I learned in the class to embarrass my teenage daughter! LOL Yeah, Findlay is nice...great people here. So how often do you do Zumba?
-
Hi...I have to add that I too am a huge fan of the show, but this season kinda sucks. I don't like this couples thing. I am glad though that the mom (orange team) got booted...she bugged me! So what happened to the other trainer, Kim is it? I am glad she's not around too...I love Jillian, she rocks! I just wish a girl would win it for once! I know it'll never happen, no matter how "fair" they say it is, the men will always produce better results. Maybe they should do an all female contestants show! I guess that's my 2 cents too!

Heehee You know, if you didn't read what we are talking about, it looks like bra sizes!! LOL

I got them from Ride Guidelines

Hi Jess! I live in Findlay! We have a Zumba class here at our YMCA. It is so much fun! Congratulations on all your weight loss! ~Carol

I meant to tell you all that mine is also a solid C, but I would love to get stronger and faster and some day make to the A group. We have a handful of riders in that catagory that go on "special rides", just for them! LOL So for now, I will be working on my B status! ~C

Hi Brandy, I'm not even banded yet, and I feel ya! That is so frustrating! I would never even consider having the surgery if I weren't going to be dedicated to it!!! I have insurance that will pay for my band, but with that said...I had to go through a lot of hard work, emotions and all that goes with 'the process' leading up to being banded (I get mine April 10th)! WOOHOO! I'm sorry you are frustrated, but it's their loss--well, lack there of! lol ~Carol -
So Juli and I talked a little about bicycling yesterday and she brought up "pacing"...I'm curious, what pace does everyone like to ride? I looked up the pace catagories on my bike clubs' site and here's how they define them: A 19-23 mph B 16-19 mph C 12-16 mph D 10-12 mp Are these about average guidelines where you all ride? ~C

I have Med Mutual also, but realize that there are LOTS of different plans within their complany. I did my diet with the Bariatric center and that is what they said I had to do for the insurance. You could always call your insurance and ask them to give you the list of their requirements. That might give you some peace of mind. Hope you had a good day at work!

Thank you everyone for such a nice time today! It was worth the drive to meet all of you. I will keep coming as long as I can. I think you all are terrific and look forward to talking to more of you with each time we meet! So Nikki is next right?!?!?!? Carol -
Hello everyone! I made it home from Columbus! Wow, it got to be a long ride with the teenagers 'jammin' to Flo Rida and Soulja Boy!!!! OMG! They kill me! I got to meet J today...WOOT WOOT! She is great. Yay for me! I hope to meet more of you one day...and yeah, you all must come here and ride with me! Oh, btw...since it was brought up. The HHH will be the Sunday AFTER Labor Day. They will no longer be starting the ride at the high school, it will start at The Cube (the Recreational Center). I will keep you all posted about it as more details come along. I was told the website was updated but I haven't checked it yet. W-all that running is awesome! Good for you. Maybe someday I'll join the rest of you with this running thing! Talk to ya'll soon!

Hi Mollie...good to hear from you! Yeah, unfortunately, I'm not banded yet. Not 'til April. But I am going to stay positive and encouraged because I know that it will be here soon, and I need to be ready--mentally and physically! I still have a few tests to go through...I need to get two lab draws, and EKG, EGD (just before surgery) and see the dietician again for Band specific diet instructions. I that's it now. Prior to that, I had to do the 6 months supervised diet with a log of my food intake, any exercise I did, psych eval, and a sleep study. It sounds like tons of work, but it's not too bad. They keep you busy though! I just met with some of the ladies today in the Columbus area (some are banded, some not), and that was great. Good information. It was nice to get to ask questions face to face and elaborate if needed. Good luck at the seminar Monday...I'm sure a lot of your questions will be answered! Keep me posted! Carol

Howdy everybody! I am soooo glad it's Friday! I am super excited about meeting J in Columbus...yes, it's totally 'uber cool'! My daughter plans on spending "like tons of money on really cool stuff" while we're there! I wish more of you were nearby to meet too! So does anyone care if I complain a little? I'm tired of waiting for my band!!! Arrgghhhhh. I just want to get this done already! I have waited so long (like it'll be 2 years almost by the time I get it), feels like forever. I got approved a few weeks ago, but my surgeon is booked until April and it just it too far away. I wanted to be a hottie for summer! This stinks! (((heavy sigh))) Thanks for listening! :glare:

Have a good run J! Thanks for saying 'Yo'!!!

HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness, this has been a long boring morning! My house is dry, thankfully, but the street is a little river of it's own. I worry more about the people that have to evacuate their homes. It's just awful...and way too soon for this town. A lot of people haven't recovered from the last one 6 months ago. Sorry about your meeting, that sucks too! Glad you're here though!
