I thought that maybe that was why you are so adamant that everyone stay away from that company. I guess I just don't understand the anger behind all your prior posts.
-
Yes I did! I saw that you kept referencing that to J so I checked it out and played a few. Pretty cool!

I am an RN. I took boards for my LPN while still in school for my RN so I could make more money (was a single mom at the time). I was a CNA making less than McDonald's paid, so when I got my LPN I felt rich! LPN's were paid about $5 more per hour than CNA's. I think now though, they may have bridged the gap. There are unit receptionists that make more than LPN. It's crap. I'm sorry that things haven't come around yet. Someday, when the nursing shortage is in full swing (and it's comin'), companies will have to pay more to keep the nurses from quitting!!! We seriously need a union!

Now you stop that BG! Very important job you have. Trust me, we couldn't get through a day without the people who run inventory. They know every in and out of OR. I'm grateful for them. I'm sure you are more appreciated than you know. Just imagine how the day would go if you weren't there to keep things going?! btw, Nurses are poor too. I know this sounds so cliche, but we really, truely don't make enough for what we do and are responsible for. :cursing:

WOW! I commend you. I don't think I could do that. I have worked for many years in ICU and even with the 'short' stays, I got attached. I just hated watching them die (not all of course, but you know what I mean). I like 'fixin' em. Feels good. I still want to save the world, ya know? lol
-
I heart everyone too! {feelin' all warm and fuzzy} *sigh*
-
hehe She said penis. lol ZZ -Cool! I didn't realize you're a nurse too. And I think BG might be? I think she works in OR. How do you like Onc?
-
You guys started it! LOL
-
Did you have the Realize band?
-
I'm sorry you had a bad experience in the past. Hopefully you will get a new start with the rest of us. Good luck to you!
-
Don't they make stuff at the toy store for grown ups that won't get lost? lol

Isuza: Why are you so passionate about this? I have seen the website Realize has...pretty basic, just as Allergans' is. The journaling they offer to patients is a great feature, but not a selling point for me. Hopefully it wouldn't be for anyone!! I am sure Allergan will have something comparable soon, especially if they are losing business over it! Keep in mind...people choose how much they want to know. They can become proactive about their healthcare and do the homework. Most of the people on this site have done just that. They have decided to take an active role in getting healthy. The road to getting a Gastric Band is not easy. There are seminars, months of dietician visits, exercise physiologists, tests, etc...the list goes on. I don't think anyone here is just letting doctors 'stick' something in them without regard for their overall health.
-
Well...not first hand! hehehe But yes, worked in ER for several years too, pretty clever stories don't cha think? lol
-
Isuza: Changing your name could appear deceptive. I think your intentions were probably to educate as you stated, but you came across very aggressive and hurtful. This really is supposed to be a supportive forum. There's no reason all of this information couldn't have been delivered in a different manner. Just curious...Do you have a LapBand? If so, how have you done with it? I will be banded in April with Allergan LapBand.

Okay...I can't seem to figure out how to quote these posts, so I copy/pasted them: "My goal is educate people against J&J's unethical practices" um...what goal? Why would anyone on this forum have that as a goal? and what about this? "My work here is done" Who does he/she work for? I sure hope not any of the companies that sell gastric bands...WOW. Do people do this for knees? hips? pacemakers? This is ridiculous. We need to be able to trust our surgeons. Of course doing your own research is so important. Ask questions...take a list to your doctor so you don't forget. Check out the websites from both companies...they both have videos and pictures. Make an informed decision. I personally still want to know what criteria a patient has to have that makes a surgeon decide which band to use. Anyone?

LMAO--I am a surgical nurse!!!!!

Jillian ROCKS! I still can't get over that she wasn't on the show a few seasons back. I am so glad she's come back and kicking butt too!! I like Bernie and Brittany too. They get along so well and really try hard. And Yeah...what's up with Bob?
-
Seriously...You have all the fun around here when I'm working! wah wah wah... I'm glad we won't get in trouble for saying ass and snatch! BG --Accidental sodomy? That's not usually an accident! lol Ooops, I accidentally lost my remote in my ass when I sat down on the couch! harharhar This is killin' me I'm laughing so hard reading all these posts today!
-
ohhhhhhh, I see. So you have to use the 'Go Advanced' button to do that. Sheeeesh...I don't usually have trouble with computers, but I wasn't gettin' it! Thank you BG! Your nice. lol ~C
-
Thank you DrC for your reply. What criteria does a patient need to have for you to choose one band over the other? ~Carol
-
Thanks BG-- what if I only want a part of the post and not the whole thing?
-
I can't see that anyone would lose more or less weight based on the type of band they chose. I thought they were pretty much the same thing other than the way the port is 'tacked' into place vs. sutured. I'd like some clarification as well...I'm not banded yet, but I'd like to have the choice and be well informed. Thanks~

I can't seem to figure out how to reply quoting a portion of a quote, help?
