Hi everyone! I will not be coming tomorrow due to the weather. I have a 2 hour drive one way and I just don't want to risk it. If you reschedule, just let me know. Sundays will not work for me, sorry! Hope to see you all soon! Carol -
If you've read this thread from the beginning it's FREAKIN' HILARIOUS!! That will help explain it! It's just silly.
-
ZZ- YAY for the new bike! Sorry you are having trouble fixin' it, but try to be patient and wait for Saturday! LOL Gel Seats: There are so many to choose from, but I'd stay away from anything too "fluffy". Keep it very simple and small--less of your butt bouncing on the seat. Hard to explain, but the smaller the seat, the better if you can. Your butt will be sore in the beginning regardless of the seat, so don't give up too quick. My doctor is Bulgarian, and I'm sure some of the "warm-fuzzies" get lost in translation. I'm just being pouty. Today I wanted to be the excited patient, not the nurse, ya know?

Your welcome! Let me know how you're doing! The biggest concern is that most people don't want to finish the med (because of side effects) so you never really get healed. I'm sure your pharmacist and doctor have already stressed this with you, but I'm a nurse and well, I just have to say it too!! -
hehe Cute!

Thanks TX! My squeals may have softened a little today, but trust me, they are there!

TX--I guess I'm trying to say that I think my doc would choose RNY anyday over lap band. I am not a candidate for it, nor do I want it. When I asked him how much weight he would anticipate I'd lose, he wouldn't give me an answer (said, "if I say this much and you don't make it, then you're mad at me, if I say that much and you do better than you think I don't know". I can see his point, but in the beginning of all this he offered up stats and stuff like that. I wanted to find out how much weight his highest bander has lost, but the conversation never got there. I think I was looking for encouragement from him, ya know? Don't worry, I will be optimistic...I am going to work so hard for this, and will surprise him I'm sure!

I like the April Avengers too! That seems to be the one that keeps getting mentioned. All in favor say 'I' !!!!
-
Hi miztrniceguy! LOL
-
Oh...and there is a possibility that my surgery will be moved to April 1st (kinda cool date, huh?)! I really hope that happens...sooner rather than later is awesome by my book.
-
J- a stalker? That's effed up! So did she just pick you out and start IMing you? BG- Yeah, we are totally in for another storm! Tired of it...Do you realize that this weekend is Daylight Savings????? For crying out loud! B- I hope you get the phone call too! We're all pulling for you! EVERYONE: I saw the surgeon today...got to ask all my questions. He was good to me. I don't feel as satisfied as I thought I would. Not sure why. I was so excited to go, but left feeling a little bit like maybe he doesn't anticipate very good results with the band. I'm bummed---BUT, I think I will have to see this as a challenge and be the BEST band patient ever!

Welcome redbone! -
Hi everybody! I saw the surgeon today to review everything. I had many questions that he answered to my satisfaction! LOL He also said we could possibly move the date from the 10th of April to the 1st! WOOHOO! I really hope it works out...I want this sooner than later!

Hi everyone, I need some suggestions/advice, etc. I am having a very early appointment with my surgeon tomorrow (not being banded until April 10th) and intend to use his time to ask questions about my upcoming surgery such as: Realize vs. Lap Band (APS, APL) Incisions (how many? where? where will they be after weight loss and TT?) Port Placement (higher? lower? I'm looking ahead to TT and waistband comfort) Fills (how soon?) If you had it to do over again, what would you ask? What would you want different? (or would you?) What did I leave out? Thank you! ~Carol

If you had the chance to...

oooohhhh....Good one! Thanks! -
Hi everyone! I need some help...I have an "extra" appointment with my surgeon tomorrow (one that I requested this early, instead of waiting until the one two weeks before surgery). I am going to talk to him about the Realize band, Lap Band options (APS, APL). If you were to do it over again, what would you ask, or request?
-
wnt2lose: I'm sorry you are facing this. Let's hope everything is okay and you won't even have to worry about this part! I can't tell you to relax and not worry about it, because you will anyway. I would suggest you limit your research on the internet as it can be worse than your imagination and not necessarily accurate. Write down your questions, keep them with you (in case you think of them in the bathroom!), talk to your doctor about your concerns and be sure to ask all the questions on your list (there is no such thing as a dumb question). If in doubt of anything, get a second opinion! Yes, the band is unfilled if you would need higher nutrition, or higher calories due to the side effects of some chemotherapy. Losing too much weight, especially when ill with something like cancer can impede your recovery. (weird...before surgery you'd never think someone would not want you lose weight, much less want you to gain it) God Bless you...let me know how you're doing. ~Carol

Has anyone seen or used the new changes on Lap Band's web site? It allows you to log on as a user before you are banded. It touts that you can track your journey, log your seminar's, etc. It also helps you track your progress after surgery. I'm assuming this is similar to the one Realize offers? I am having trouble registering and was wondering what you all think of it?! I am getting banded in April, and my doctor uses LapBand so I'm pretty sure that registering with them is a safe bet!

H. Pylori - what is current treatment?
Turler replied to Lizalee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Whatever you do, take ALL of the medicine! I had to do it too, and it's awful I know. The awful taste in my mouth was the worst part of it for me. Hang in there, you can do it! -
I heart them too!
-
Yes it does! Wow, we are getting some good ones!
