I love mine and I don't even have one yet! Seriously!
-
the worst!

That is so COOL! I used to live in Colorado Springs...my daughter was born at the Air Force Academy. But Longmont is my 'hometown'. Great place to live!
-
kaninag: I read your posts before you deleted them. I'm sorry you felt you needed to do that. I think your concerns were legitimate! I am not yet banded and reading stuff like that helps me prepare for what could happen to me! My doctor doesn't routinely use fluoro either, but I can see the advantages. I'm glad you got more put in than you first thought you would! I think you were resonded to unfairly. I didn't know restriction could come so long after a fill. This stuff we learn as we experience it, or learn it through the wisdom of others. I'm sorry you weren't supported in the way you needed. ~C

CadenceMarch: Yes, I was responding to you, I'm sorry. I see the mistake I made...Oops! I've never heard of a cotinine kit. How does that work? Urine? Saliva? CinniMae08(Cindy): I wanted to tell you that I commend you for taking care of yourself. It's so refreshing to hear a woman take care of herself first. We often don't. It's that maternal instinct that keeps us plugging along, putting everyone else first and then one day, the time comes that we are forced to do something good for ourselves. Good for you! Are you self-pay?

Hi gang! It's so cool to hear everyone gearing up for rides...or actually riding!! Awesome! I don't know if I'm going to brave the cold and the wind this weekend. I'm on call Saturday and Sunday so I gotta be ready to go in at any moment. ZZ: Hang in there! You are doing great! Just getting out there is half the battle. Keep trying and you'll amaze yourself with your progress! ~C

Cindy, All in good time sweetie! You need support, not lectures. These are tough times...lots of changes and stress. Even though it's exciting and happy! Sometimes the best time to make a major life change is in the middle of another. Does your surgeon require you to have quit before surgery? I too have been eating and eating and eating! I 've been like this for a few weeks now, it's crazy. I don't why I'm doing it...it's not like we are never going to eat again! Weird! I don't have a pre-op diet either, but with only a month to go, I'm thinking I'm gonna start crackin' down on it!
-
Yes, I am worried about the liquid diet!!! I feel confident that the mortality rate of pre-op liquid dieters is fairly low, but I am still concerned! I've seen the dietician once, and have 2 more appointments with her before my surgery. I'm not sure what else we'll cover as I've been given the "Bible" and have memorized it already!! How many recipes can we find on the liquid stage with added protein powder! Blech! LOL Either way, I will comply, because I don't want to do anything to ruin this! How about exercise? Is anyone following a program?? Is anyone dieting currently??

Are 'take-backs' allowed? :sneaky:

ColoradoChick: Where in CO are you from? I'm from Longmont, but live in Ohio. Today is 30 days from banding day! It's kinda cool to be able to say that. I have so many appointments this month getting ready for it. My EGD is on Thursday..that's the biggest part so far. It's easy though, nothin' to it!
-
Good to see you back Hippigirl! I'm so glad everything went as planned! Nurse Nikki: I am so excited for you!! Keep us updated on how you're feeling!
-
Hi CadencMarch! Welcome, welcome welcome! We share the same banding date! YAY!
-
Thank you Jack! I am looking forward to Post Band Life...hopefully it will help! How long did it take for you to feel better or notice a difference?

J: LOL I guess it does sound like that! I really just wanted to know how things went! You realize I won't be coming to next month's meeting either since I'll be banded on the 10th! Did you go? I'm glad to hear it went well! -
HI CinniMae! Welcome!! Oh my goodness, I wish I had a friend to do this with! You are so lucky! Sounds like you will have quite a support system at home! I've been on here for a few months and just decided to jump into the threads that interested me. I made some friends and love to come here! Tell me about yourself! We are all in this together! :smile2:

ZZ: SO FREAKIN' COOL! You got your bike all decked out AND you learned to ride it!!! WOOT WOOT! Hey, we all gotta start somewhere and kudos to you for giving it a go. You MUST get a helmet and soon! LOL You may want to practice braking before you get on any public streets too. You can do it! :smile2: HP: Awesome! Very cool pedals! You don't need a trainer to learn how to use them. Just stick to neighborhood roads and places with less traffic before you go all out! I think I posted a few pages back to get the hang of your new pedals, practice with the foot/leg you tend to put down first when you stop your bike. You may need to adjust your pedals (tighten or loosen the clips) until you get it just right. Don't make it too loose though, that could be bad--you'd slip all the time. You should be able to just use a quick "kick" with your heel to the side and you should be released. It takes a little practice so really don't go far until they're adjusted right. If they are too tight, you are locked in and will crash!! If you are really worried about it, you LBS may have a trainer you could hook your bike to and they could do the adjusting for you. All depends on the LBS and their policy. Hope that helps!

Will someone be giving Meeting Minutes to those of us that can't come??? Please???? :smile2: -
Happy Bandiversary Juli WOO HOO!!!!!!
-
Yay for TOSRV! My DH and DD are for sure going to ride. I am for sure going to SAG. I sure hope to see you there! They haven't signed up yet though. Maybe they should get on it! I'm not coming to C-bus. I'm sure the roads will be better, but it's just too much driving in one day to not get to spend some time there (more than just the meeting). If you go, let me know how it went and stuff!
-
J- I'm happy to see your TOSRV ticker!!! Now all we need is some decent weather! Are you going to Polaris tomorrow?
-
Hi Stef! I'm new to MySpace but I requested to be your friend! My page is plain and I don't have many friends yet. I always forget to get on there. I like your page though. Nice! C
-
I don't get to play this game since I don't have my band yet! **pout**
-
J-- You look polished! I love it! Classy! (and just look at your facial structure--Wow!)

TooFat4Ever: Please check the board before going. I'd hate for you to be traveling in this weather. I don't know if anyone will make it there! Please feel free to ask any questions here if you feel comfortable or PM one of us. (Listen to me, I sound like I know something! haha) I'm not yet banded, but I've gotten a lot of support from everyone here and I had a ton of questions too. Great group! Carol -
Hello gang! We are starting to get a lot of responses! I think the April Avengers is the motto to be unless anyone opposes. I suppose now we need a symbol of sorts. Some of the other months/groups have some really cool designs near their signature. Anyone computer savvy enough to put one together? I am so excited for everyone! Isn't it amazing to get this opportunity? I am so thankful. There are so many bandsters on this board that have been so successful. They are truely an inspiration. I'm sure most of you have already read a lot of the stuff here. I have found that reading the old threads are helpful too. Have a great weekend everyone---see ya on the boards! Carol
