I thought they were bat wings!
-
LOL. I have been looking around my house for the last few weeks to see what I could eat if I get too hungry during the liquid diet! I don't know what the calorie counts are for the couch, tv, laptop, slippers, the cat...

Prolly :scared2:

LOL Please don't eat the dog! How does the wallpaper look? ~Carol

When you work out regularly, especially with any weight training, you are increasing your muscle mass. That is a wonderful thing. {That is where it doesn't matter what you weigh (muscle weighs more than fat), but the size you wear and how you look and feel will be amazing. So after you've started to build these muscles, they are constantly burning fat, even at rest. Increasing your calories/carbs doesn't change your metabolism immediately. You can get away with a break and still lose a little weight. Obviously if you continued to eat and not work out, you'd gain weight, but initially you will still lose because your metabolism is in high gear.

Ummmm, remember this part?

ColoradoChick: Good for you! It will be fun to see how we all progress. I can hardly wait! I see the surgeon tomorrow and that will be the last visit until surgery. WOO HOO! You know, Jello can help with the chewing and the feeling of having something solid. I am worried about this part. Not that anyone ever died from their preop diet, but I work 12 hour shifts and am worried about being able to sustain myself that long without any real food! I'm sure it will be fine though. Maybe all those hours will be a distraction! LOL

Oh. I guess I'm confused then, sorry. I thought you had the option of wearing it on the arm or the waist. My bad.
-
That is a good idea. My dietician encourages using the disposable 2 and 4 oz cups with lids. Your portions will always be right and no dishes! Also, she said it keeps you from stretching the area above the band. It's good to check it like that once every few weeks if you're not measuring.
-
For real???? Like when your socks leave a mark on your ankles? Or like it stays there for hours? That is so weird. Why not wear it on your waist? I want one of these things, but doesn't it show through your clothes?
-
Hi everybody! I'm getting excited too! I start my liquid diet on Thursday. ColoradoChick: How's your liquid diet going? Are you doing okay? Nervous?

Aren't we humans cool?! That happens to RNY patients also. The body will find another way to get what it needs for survival. Unfortunately, now that it can absorb the fat/calories/nutrients, it doesn't change the odor problem. They continue to smell bad because the food is undigested. Basically rotten food farts! Kind of sad huh? I'd much rather fart rainbows! -
Ooooohhh good one LJM!

I'm lost, help me understand what you guys are talking about! I'm not following this one!
-
Okay, I'm back for a sec! I clicked the link too...there was no avoiding it, had to look. And yes, that is exactly what they do. They trim the lettuce on the taco to go more burrito per se! Lots of women do this but more for cosmetic purposes, not necessarily from saggy va jay jay's. There are women who do legitemately need it though. Most of the time, if a woman gets a TT, she gets a mons lift during it. It usually gets lifted with the TT so it's now up higher appearing more 'youthful'. Who doesn't want to be more youthful???? Can't wait to hear what the guys think of all this! ZZ: No, I can't remember the name of that restaurant! I was hoping you knew! J: So proud of you for riding. It is so cold up here! Brrrrrrrr!!!!!
-
OMG!!!! LMFAO!!!! I can't stay, only popped in to see what was up and I about fell off my chair! YES we can rebuild her...all of her!! That is so funny Stef. I can't belief you didn't know what a Va jay jay was! I am chuckling. I can't look at the pics yet, not sure if I want to! I'll write more later! ~C
-
TX: I'm an OR nurse so I see all kinds of new racks, va jay jay's, TT, etc. We can rebuild her...LOL ZZ: I used to live in Lenexa and worked in Overland Park. We used to eat at some BBQ place in KC where they greeted you at the door real loud southern accent "HI MAY I HELP YOU???" It was a fun place with really good food. ~Carol

lafevretj- Oh, that is kinda sad. I'm sorry your DH won't be there and that he is upset about that too. I totally understand how you wouldn't want to wait...I wouldn't either! I'm sure you'll do fine and your daughters will take good care of you! losing it in ne- Good luck...we are band buddies!
-
Hi everybody! You've been busy I see! BBK: I live in Findlay, Ohio. Not near as close as you and BG, but still. I'm just saying. Maybe we all could meet someday. Never know. BG: Partial health is not an option for me either. I want it all. Why would anyone go this far and not view it (the Band) as a gift? Of course, I'm not banded yet, so maybe I'm talking out of my ass. Speaking of ass...if I wear charcoal panties will I then fart rainbows that smell like Spring Day? Chickie: I wanna pink pony too!!!!
-
CD- Welcome! This thread is great, you'll love us all! BG- Effin SNOW!! Holy crap! I feel for ya sister! ZZ- At least you got a name with a nickname in it! Uh, Carol????WTF???? Mean parents. Totally sucks. I wanna nickname. Seriously. J- Um, cutsie name??? Yes you totally got a cute name. Did I mention my name is Carol? Girls- New racks don't cost that much these days. You can get a TT for a few thousand, new girls for a couple thousand, new eyes, nose, legs, arms whatever...for quite a bit less than a car! LOL
-
Okay...I want to know what you are drinking that keeps you feeling satsified!!! I am so worried about being miserable during that part of this preop stuff! Maybe it will go better than I think! ~Carol
-
Hi Stef! Sure has been quiet around here lately. Is that a sign of Spring?!?!?!? I miss everybody, but can't blame 'em for catching a few moments of good weather when they can. I saw that Road ID...very cool! I might have to get one myself! Always a good idea to have something like that on ya when you can't speak for yourself. Especially when you have had anatomy altering surgery, implants, allergies, etc. Have a good night! ~C

Cousin passed, had lapband now the family is freaking
Turler replied to LosingIt08's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Losing: Any new information? I would think that the doctors would want to know why she went into a coma in the first place. She was very young. If they were treating her for a few weeks in a coma, they must have had some idea of what was going on. If it was her band that caused it (not sure how though), I would think they'd remove it immediately to increase her chance of survival. I'm a little confused...I really think you are just not being told all of the facts. Often times when we are faced with death, people begin to speculate in order to have an answer for such tragedies. Unfortunately this can lead to rumors and then no one is sure of what happened. I pray you and your family get some facts from the doctors and find peace with her death. I can certainly understand that you'd be hesitant about getting banded after all of this, but keep in mind that RNY is much more dangerous. Many complications and a high mortality rate. Be sure to do your homework and make an informed decision about your health. Talk to your own surgeon as well about this and see what light he/she can shed on the situation. Take care ~C
