Thanks HP! I am ready for the changes. I wanna be like you all...losing weight, looking fine and all that! I am tired of the wait for this, but I am down to the wire now, it's actually going to happen for real! Good for you selling your bike...shows commitment to the new one! :tt1: ~C

I was really hoping we would go back to complaining because I'm on my preop liquid diet and you all suck talkin' about all this food! WAAAH WAAAH!

Hi! There is usually a thread going that compares the different types of bands. I remember seeing pictures of both the Realize and the Lap Band, but I can't seem to find them for you. You can enter a search and look for them. That is a long boring task, but they are in there somewhere! The websites should show pictures of their products. Also, you could try (I hate to even say this, but) You Tube. ~C

HP: Great job on the weight loss! You can do it! ZZ: Wow, it does sound like you got a pretty good fill! I was so worried about being really hungry on this preop part, but I am doing surprisingly well! Keep up the good work on your goal with HP. You both are almost there!! Oh...and that Diva Cup? Heard about those years ago, but they didn't really take off. Something about them not staying in place and "tipping" over....yeah, ewwww. BG: The sun is shining just south of you! Did you get your good weather? ~c

1-Day Post Op-need encouragement
Turler replied to wickman2617's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you had those same dressings on since surgery? I would suggest that you do not cover them with anything at this point! Your skin needs to heal and the adhesive in the bandages could be irritating you. Maybe you could wear a close fitting/spandex tank top to keep your clothes from rubbing you if that bothers you. ~C -
This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

hehe Good one! -
I am only doing 1 week of liquid diet. No meals that involve chewing or actual eating. I have to drink 6 protein shakes a day and can have jello, broth, etc. I was really worried that I'd die during this phase (considering I am fat and I like to eat), but I was really surprised that I wasn't hungry. I think the protein is great in that regard, but I don't like being so mean. I am scheduled for surgery on Thursday and can have 'applesauce' consistency right away (after discharge from hospital). I don't think I'd want to eat either...I wouldn't want to stop. Carbs make you hungry, so probably better not to have the choice. ~C

Oh thank God I'm not alone!!! It feels awful doesn't it? I feel so bad, but I seem to have NO TOLERANCE for just about anything. I just want to be left alone! I hate this feeling. I hope I don't stay bitchy after surgery! Do you think it's all the protein, or the lack of chewing?

I didn't even know you could hide a thread! What is the purpose? Like for reference later? ~C

It was me!!!! I could NOT remember the name!!!!! My ex-husband is from KC and we lived there (in Lenexa) for a little while. He used to love that place and it was fun. Mainly just because of the way they shout at you and say everything in that exaggerated southern dialect! Funny. They had good food too! hehe Good times... Maybe ZZ knows the place!

I'm just so glad it's Friday. Maybe the weekend will be better! Tomorrow is a new day! Right??? ~C

Good Luck ColoradoChick! I'm thinking of you! Check back with us as soon as you can! Hey, is anyone else on their preop liquid diet? If so, are you feeling a little bitchy? I am. I'm not hungry, just bitchy/irritable. ~C

Yeah, I thought that was weird too. But I went with it! LOL

Does anyone care if I complain? I've had the worst few days! I started my pre-op liquid diet yesterday. Lost my 'Bible' (how the heck could I lose it, I had it just the day before!!!!) so I couldn't remember every single thing I could drink. Had to call office for another one (that makes me look real dedicated, ya know?). I lost my keys, had to use the spare. Was walking into work in the blowing rain and my umbrella turns inside out. I'm trying to fix it and spill an entire mug of coffee into my purse! You know, all over my phone, wallet, papers, etc. Now I'm wet, my hair, my face and my whole left arm gets soaked (with the coffee) in the process too! I get a case of the 'dropsies' for the rest of the day to go with it. Today doesn't go much better. Raining again, but umbrella doesn't work so I get wet anyway. My washing machine is broken (have been fighting it for about a month now), clothes are soaked and stuck in it. Have headache today. Can't wash coat now. Argh! Did I miss anything? Oh yeah, did I mention I've lost my memory??? LOL

Hi everyone! I'm on my liquid pre-op diet (this is day 2). I'm not hungry, but I sure feel bitchy! Geez, must be all that protein. A shock to my system or something. I hope this clears up! I also have a little tiny nagging headache to go with it. I'm glad the weekend is here. I'm worried about being bitchy at work. I am hoping to ride this weekend. We are supposed to be around 60 degrees like BG, so it's a possiblity. I sure hope so, it will give me something else to think about. I have a friend from work that I have helped get into bicycling. It's so fun to hear her talk about her new bike and everything. She just got shoes and pedals and some extra stuff. Kinda cute. Cool to see someone really get into it!

I'm sorry.

Do you guys think I was out of line? I mean seriously...it seems like attention seeking. I thought I was clear, concise, etc. but then other readers responded like I was being mean. I guess I just don't understand what kind of response the OP is looking for and keeps searching for!

Car games!! We played "I Spy", Padiddle, License Plate Alphabet and my Dad would give us spelling tests...all to pass the time!!! LOL Anyone remember Q-bert?

I Can Make You Thin...Does that sound right?

Grace: I think you'd be surprised how many people really do care! There is a lot of good advice here, but nothing can take the place of your own doctors. They are in charge of your health because you gave them that job! There is a very real danger of low potassium. You could have a heart attack and die! That is far worse like Jachut said than being a little thinner than you'd care to be. I'm getting banded because I don't do things right either so I can only preach so much. BUT, I am doing this to save my life. Didn't we all? Did you do this for the cute jeans you could wear? Or was it for the health benefit. Hey, it can be both, but ultimately, being 100 pounds overweight was a slow sure path to death. It's too bad you've not learned to change your eating habits. There is still time, but you need to get a dietician and work on this! I'm sure there is someone close to where you live that can monitor some of this in between your visits with your doctor. I just hope you can get a handle on this and get healthy. Looking good isn't worth it if you don't have your health. ~C

Thank you both for your responses! Grace: As I stated before, I am not yet banded so I cannot respond to your questions. I like to hear the experiences from the people at goal and do feel that I am (nor should be) banned to the Intro and Pre-Op threads. I am simply trying to understand this constant grief you have that you believe you are too thin, yet won't do anything to correct it. I feel that my "tone of voice" is being misunderstood. I am concerned about the malnutrition and your labs (I am a nurse). I am confused about your eating habits (posted by yourself) and I am curious why you won't address these issues with a professional instead of here? Shortgal: I am grateful that you also recognize the strange behaviors and have also seen the other posts. I see that it can take time for some people to see the demons. I would hope that she has had a lot of support and encouragement here to get these issues addressed, but this is not the place for that kind of help. You are right, it's not making sense to me. I guess I'm frustrated compounded by the preop liquid diet! LOL

Too harsh?
