J: LOL I'll bet you did! I'm feeling better as of yesterday. I amped up my meals a little, and was given permission to have "pudding" consistancy instead of "applesauce". It helped, so I spared my keyboard, the wallpaper, my shoes... There's a ride tonight. I can't go and it's beautiful out. Guess I'll go walking.

Welcome all you new AVENGERS! It's good to see everyone so active. I am improving every day. I am still hungry, but was given the "go ahead" to thicken things up a little to hopefully make me feel better. I DO feel better and it doesn't take but the 2 oz allowed to fill me up! It's amazing! I loved my band long before I got it, but I can see something special developing here! LOL ~C

No rant. Just wanted to post.

I was so shocked and ELATED that Bernie won over Mark! I just couldn't stand Mark and his bad attitude, how he treated everyone and all that BOO-HOOING!!! Geez-man! Bernie always had class, and he looked terrific! I kinda wanted Kelly to win, but I knew once I saw Ali she'd beat her. She looked amazing! She left the campus having already lost 99 pounds, so she only had to lose another 6 lbs to win the contest! Her dress rocked, but I could've done without the feather!!! LOL ~C

Oh. Well, thank you for explaining it to me. I'm not sure that I like that idea either. Maybe it was put back there to encourage people to be nice to eachother. I don't think I like the idea of a popularity contest though.

One problem with the liquid diet........
Turler replied to nesser081982's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You'll be alright. It's amazing the things we are willing to put up with or do when we want something bad enough! I was worried about being hungry, but I actually felt "full" the whole time I was on my liquid diet. Hang in there! -
What a jerk! That's just wrong. What makes him think he can voice himself like that to you? How rude! Sorry you're dealing with that. ~C

Banded at long last! It sure seemed like it would take forever to get to this point, but here I am! I am doing well. I had to stay in the hospital a little longer than usual because I had an allergic reaction to one of the meds. I still have "scales" on my face and stomach from all the itching I did! I've been pretty hungry, but am trying to "eat" every 2 hours and drink as much water as I can. I am down 5 lbs. so far so I guess a pound a day isn't too shabby! I've been taking short walks, but yesterday got brave and went all the way around the block! I feel so proud! I think we picked a good time to get banded as the weather is nice enough to lure us outside. I'm glad everyone is doing so good. It's great to hear from everybody! Please share any good ideas for food/mushies/drinks that fill you up! ~C

TG: I agree! I don't like that either!

Good analogy BG. Look at my situation! I was just fat! I don't have high cholesterol or high BP. If you look in my medical chart, I would appear to be healthy. Then there was that damn EGD that found CANCER! WTF?? So you all complain about BMI, thin, too thin, that's gross, I'm hot, your not, whatever. At this point in my life, I'm just going for healthy. Funny how those numbers don't matter anymore. I only wish to reduce my risk of cancer and other obesity related illness. Of course I want to be "skinny" and look great and all that, but truth be told, I just want to be alive. ~C

CONGRATS ZZ!!!!!! I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT!! GREAT JOB! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULI!!! Good morning everyone! JC-Good to hear from you. I'm glad you're doing better. Keep taking it easy. You'll be back on your bike in no time! BG-Awesome on the $$$$$ Good for you! They have several jerseys that are racerback too. They give a nicer tan than the typical ones. If you're looking for bicycle access. only, here is my list: pump (floor and one for your bike-little tiny handheld you put in your seatpack) all in one tool cycle monitor with cadence/heart rate-helps you really keep track of your workout! cute jerseys, cute biking shorts/skorts I dunno, does that help?

Here Here! I agree with that! We (people with weight problems) deal with enough in the outside world. We don't need it here! :huh2: ~C

Central Ohio Get Together - May 10 2008
Turler replied to HeatherA's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can't commit just yet. It seems as though each month I have trouble with the date. Argh! I will have to let you know. Worse case scenario, I will have to just make a trip down and see whoever can meet me and we'll go for dinner and drinks or something! ~C -
3 days post surgery and I am hungry...help
Turler replied to Marissa's Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh come on! Have some class heartme! Why did you bother to post here if you can't be supportive? It's okay that you're hungry. I've learned that many people are. Make sure you don't cheat the diet your doctor prescribes, but be sure you are getting enough to eat/drink (depending on your phase). I am having the same trouble, and realized I wasn't taking in all that I could have. I feel better now that I am paying attention to calories and getting enough Water. Hang in there! You can do this! ~C -
oooohh, good one. That one bugs me too!
-
How 'bout "penetration". Ewwww! And "penis". What yucky words. LOL
-
Mine is from a nickname I acquired as a kid. When I was a baby crawling around, my big sister (of 2 years of age) kept calling me a "turtle" but it was coming out "turler". My Dad kept it going and here it is! Cool thread!
-
Oh Lordy! I've got a list of words too! LOL What a funny thread! Okay, here's just ONE of my pet peeves. Here in Ohio, people say that they "warsh" their clothes, "warsh" the car, etc. HUH??? Last I checked, Webster's clearly spells it WASH and is pronounced without an "R" !!! Ugh! ~C

Interesting topic. I haven't decided how I will handle this. Part of me wants to Celebrate with each pound I will lose, but the other part of me wants to keep 'em guessing. I would NEVER tell anyone my current weight, nor would anyone ever ask. So why do people feel it's okay to ask amounts lost and current weight when you've slimmed down? I'm inclined to answer vaguely and respond like Juli suggested! Ask them a personal question, you know, since we're all sharing and bonding now! I'm a little testy about this because I have struggled a great deal with even telling anyone that I was going to have sugery. I realize someone will notice when I start losing, and someone is bound to ask. I just can't figure yet if they will be supportive or is the information for purely gossip purposes. ~C
